Carmen Electra in Bikini Says “Have a Nice Week”

Here are her top diet and fitness habits

Carmen Electra is heating up social media in her bikini. In a new post, the 1990s icon flaunts her fabulous figure in a skimpy swimsuit. “Have a great week,” she captions the Instagram clip. “Absolutely beautiful,” commented one of her followers, while several others added fire emojis. How does the 53-year-old manage to look half her age? Here are her top diet and fitness habits and more photos of her looking hot this summer.

1

Hydration

Carmen is all about hydration. “I made it a rule that I have to drink two bottles of water before I start my day,” she told The Cut. “I used to drink soda, but I don’t get any caffeine any more. It’s been my New Year’s resolution [to drink water] for like seven years.” She maintains that it helps her lose weight. “I started drinking water and noticed a change in my body overnight. It’s easier for me now to keep the weight off, whereas before, it was more of a struggle. Before I had to be perfectly healthy when I was drinking soda to lose weight. My skin is completely different because it’s not as dehydrated. Water has changed my life.”

Healthy Diet

Electra maintains a healthy diet. “Some days, I eat whatever I want as long as I’m exercising enough. My biggest struggle is my cravings for sweets, but I’ve learned to take it easy on myself and get the cravings out of the way so I don’t obsess over them,” she explained to Women Fitness. “My ultimate goal is to eat healthy all week and have Sunday as my cheat day where I can eat as much as I want and whatever I want.”

3

Dancing

Electra stays fit with dancing. “Dancing is the best exercise for me, but if I’m not dancing I hit the gym,” Carmen told Women Fitness. “I realized that because of my dance background, I already have discipline and I don’t need to be pushed. I think I’ve saved a lot of money too. As a dancer, I’ve never put strict rules on my workout habits and sometimes I just want to go to the gym and do something light,” she added to The Cut.

Not Pushing Herself Too Hard

Carmen doesn’t push herself too hard. “I listen to my body. There have been times in my life where I’ve pushed myself so hard to do everything, and I had to learn how to say no. It’s important in dating to say no, in your daily life, and with your friends,” she told The Cut.

5

Exercise

Carmen sweats on a regular basis. “I look at fitness as a way of expressing myself,” Carmen told Muscle & Fitness. “I usually start off with about 20 minutes of cardio, either riding the bike or walking on an incline. Then, I do a series of sit-ups to keep my core tight. Otherwise, it’s all legs for me— the sled or squats mixed in with some other exercises as well. I stopped working out my arms for some time, but now I’m planning on getting back into it so I keep balance throughout my entire body,” she told Women Fitness about her workout.
