Caroline Girvan is a personal trainer. She shares a lot of her favorite workouts on her TikTok. Recently, she shared some of her favorite leg workouts in three different videos on her account. In them, Caroline is seen doing leg lifts, donkey kicks, and leg circles, all with ankle weights. In them, she is seen in a white workout bra and blue pants.

She Works Her Lower Body

 

Caroline doesn’t skip leg day. In this TikTok, she is seen doing lower body workouts. Piedmont states that doing lower body workouts has a lot of benefits. “Having strong glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings and calf muscles gives your body a strong foundation and can: Tone your lower body muscles. Boost your metabolism as you increase muscle mass. Give you a higher calorie burn as you train larger muscle groups. Improve your balance. Strengthen your bones. Reduce joint pain.”

She Uses Ankle Weights

 

Caroline likes to use ankle weights to stay in shape. She is seen using them in this TikTok. University Hospitals states that wearable weights have a lot of benefits. “Exercising with wearable weights help improve: Muscle strength and endurance. Resting metabolism. Bone density. Mobility. Injury prevention. Another important benefit of wearable weights is they don’t require any grip strength. People with poor grip strength have difficulty working with dumbbells.”

She Works Her Core

Caroline makes sure to do core exercises. In this TikTok, she is seen doing exercises like crunches and leg lifts. The Mayo Clinic says that core workouts are very important. “Your core is the central part of your body. It includes your pelvis, lower back, hips and stomach. The stomach muscles sometimes are called abs. Core exercises train the muscles in your core to work in harmony. This leads to better balance and steadiness, also called stability. Stability is important whether you’re on the playing field or doing regular activities. In fact, most sports and other physical activities depend on stable core muscles.”

She Does Hip Thrusts

In this TikTok, Caroline is seen doing hip thrusts. Gymless states that hip thrusts are a great workout. “Strong glutes are not only for aesthetic appeal; they serve a key functional purpose in supporting the posterior chain of muscles around the spine. Hip thrusts are also known for their capacity to develop and define glute muscles, contributing to their popularity on social media. After all, who doesn’t appreciate the look of a well-crafted pair of glutes? Hip thrusts, as a compound movement, aid in increasing lower body strength and power, enhancing athletic abilities such as running, jumping, and powerlifting.

She Does Deadlifts

In the previous TikTok, Caroline is seen doing deadlifts. ACE Fitness states that deadlifts are a very effective workout. “When done correctly, the RDL is an effective exercise that helps strengthen both the core and the lower body with one move. Unlike the traditional barbell deadlift and other quad-dominant exercises such as leg presses, which place significant loads on the anterior portion of the knees, the RDL focuses most of the physical work on the muscles responsible for extending the hip and the knee from the posterior.”
