She Lifts Weights
In her Instagram video, Carrie is seen using dumbbells. Weight training has a lot of benefits. ACE Fitness says, “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”
She Does Squats
Carrie has amazing legs, and she does a lot of squats to maintain them. In her Instagram video, she is seen doing squats with dumbbells. According to Beacon Health & Fitness, squats have a lot of benefits. “A common misconception is that squats are bad for your knees or joints. Not having full range of motion in your joints is bad for your body, so using squats to increase mobility is great for the body and improving strength.”
She Does A Variety Of Workouts, Using This System
Carrie shared her trick for doing a variety of exercises for a decent amount of time to Cosmopolitan. “I’ll often use a deck of playing cards to make my workouts feel more fun, because I really like to mix things up and get bored easily. I’ll assign one exercise to each suit, including one upper body move (like push-ups or pull-ups), one lower body move (like weighted squats), one abs move (often using an abs wheel) and one cardio move (like jumping rope). Then I pick one card at a time and do as many reps are listed on each card until I get through half the deck.”
She Works With A Trainer
Carrie works with trainer, Eve Overland, to keep herself in shape. “Working out and staying healthy is just a way of life for Carrie,” Eve says to Shape Magazine. “It is who she is, what she does. Carrie understands that staying strong, mobile, and conditioned is so important in all aspects of her life, on and off the stage. Working out is self care and her me time.”
She Works Out With Her Husband
Carrie is married to former pro-hockey player, Mike Fisher. She tells Cosmopolitan that they enjoy working out together. “When Mike is around, we’ll work out together. One of us will run on the treadmill or hold a plank while the other does 50 push-ups, or one of us will do squats while the other runs a mile. You both hate your life at the time, but you try to finish quickly so your partner won’t be tortured.”
