Charley Hull Shows Off Strength in the Gym and Shares 5 Fitness Secrets

Charley Hull isn't just a top golfer—she's an athlete through and through. The former LET Rookie of the Year knows that staying strong off the course is just as important as her performance on it. Last week, she shared a glimpse of her gym routine on Instagram, proving that "strength sessions are a must." From lifting weights to running for endurance, Hull stays committed to her fitness for both her game and her mindset. Here are five workout habits that keep her at the top of her game.
She's Consistent
Hull makes sure to stay consistent with her fitness. She explained what motivates her to do so in an press conference. "I don't train for golf," Hull revealed. "I have zero interest in training for golf. I don't want to be just a golfer. I want to be an athlete. I train because it's good for my mental health and it's good for me."
She Lifts Weights

In her Instagram post, Hull is seen lifting weights. ACE Fitness says that this can help with intermuscular coordination. "Using maximal loads for compound (multi-joint) movements like the deadlift, squat-to-shoulder press, bent-over row or chest press can improve intermuscular coordination, which is the ability of many muscles to work together to generate and control high levels of force through multiple joints."
She Does Lunges

Hull is seen doing lunges with a dumbbell in her Instagram post. The Mayo Clinic says that these have a lot of benefits. "The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles. The lunge is a great conditioning exercise for many sports, especially those that involve lunging movements, such as tennis, basketball or soccer."
She Runs
As you can see from her Instagram post, Hull likes to do cardio to keep herself in shape. One thing she likes to do is run. She talked about this in an Instagram story. "I have no interest in that at all but the training & weights I do help my golf," Hull wrote. "I love running as a hobby and for my fitness and my mind. The more fitter you are the less jet lag you get and the more stamina you have."
She Golfs
Golf is obviously something that keeps Hull in shape. The Columbia Association says, "While golf might be considered leisurely, its health benefits are nothing to sleep on! Here's just a few ways the game works its magic on your wellbeing: Enhances cardiovascular health. Reduces stress and anxiety. Helps you maintain a healthy weight. Improves cognitive function. Strengthens muscles, especially in your core. Improves sleep (fresh air + outdoors + socialization + exercise= a winning combo)."
