Chelsea Handler's Trainer Reveals Her Secret To Staying In Great Shape: 'She's Fully Changed Her Body'

Chelsea Handler is a successful TV host, comedian, producer, and writer. She's best known for hosting E! Network's late-night comedy talk show, Chelsea Lately. To top it all off, the 50-year-old star looks incredible while she's crushing it. How does she stay in great shape? Well, her trainer Ben Bruno recently shared Handler's secret after doing "almost 2,000 training sessions" with her.
Chelsea Handler Lifts Weights Religiously
In Bruno's Instagram post, he shared that Handler consistently lifts weights to keep herself fit. He praised the TV host as a true inspiration in the caption, writing, "Given her platform, I bet she's actually done more to get women to lift weights than I have, because the message is much more powerful coming from her than from a hairy Italian like me."
Bruno also discussed how often Handler trains with weights and how she developed incredible strength over the years.
"Chelsea is a true 1-of-1," he included in the caption. "She lifts weights 5-6 days a week, and parties close to that often. Sometimes she even drinks while lifting weights—though less often than she used to when I first met her. Back then she used to be scared of lifting weights out of fear of bulking up, but she's gotten super strong over the years and sings the praises of strength training from the rooftops to any women who will listen."
She Works Out With A Trainer
Handler works out with Bruno to keep her fitness game strong. In fact, the duo completed "almost 2,000 training sessions together" as of February 26. Bruno has trained other notable celebs as well, including Sara Foster, Kate Upton, Jessica Biel, Ashley Greene, and Dixie D'Amelio.
According to Bruno, "[Handler has] fully changed her body (I won't talk pounds), and in so doing, she's also done so much for me and my business by always crediting me publicly, even when I don't deserve it because she's the one who put in all the work."

She Sought Guidance From a Nutritionist
Handler has also worked with celebrity nutritionist, Kelly LeVeque, to help speed up her metabolism.
LeVeque previously told Well + Good, "This sounds a little funny to say, but it's so true for a lot of people: Chelsea really wanted to understand how she could live a healthier lifestyle, but not give up alcohol. (I, for one, enjoy a glass of wine at the end of a long week.) She also wanted to prevent water retention and learn how to turn off her hunger hormones, so she wasn't constantly fighting the urge to snack."

She Included Fats in Her Diet
LeVeque broke down Handler's diet for Well + Good.
"The goal was to get 2 Tbsp of fat at every meal," she shared. "For breakfast, instead of eating an egg-white omelet, I suggested she have 2–3 yolks, too—that's where the fat is. She works out in the morning and sometimes a meal doesn't sound appetizing, so I taught her how to make a chocolate-almond butter Fab Four Smoothie as well."

She Limited Her Sugary Beverages
LeVeque also recommended that Handler trim back on sugar-filled fruit juices and smoothies—and, well, sugar altogether.
"One thing I focused on was educating her regarding what else (other than alcohol) is metabolized in the liver, such as the fructose found in fruit. To reduce the metabolic toll, I suggested she cut back on sugary fruit juices and smoothies, as well as sugar in general," she said.
