Chicago Med Star Torrey DeVitto Shares Swimsuit Photo "Floating"

She’s Reiki certified.

Chicago Med star Torrey DeVitto had a magical trip to Israel earlier in the summer, and she's got the pictures to prove it. DeVitto, 39, shared a picture of herself wearing a black one-piece swimsuit while floating serenely in the Dead Sea, looking blissful in the waters. "Floating. BRB. 🤍," she captioned the post. "Love it," a fan commented on the beautiful picture. Here are 5 other ways DeVitto takes time to look after her physical and spiritual health.

Smoothies and Salads

DeVitto follows a mostly pescatarian diet. "I have a crazy morning ritual since I stopped drinking any caffeine and coffee four months ago," she says. "So now I start the day with a glass of hot water with lemon, and that's what I drink throughout the day. It's super great for metabolism. I love [Kimberly Snyder's] Glowing Green Smoothie. Or I'll just mix some vanilla into coconut water. I also take vitamins every day. For lunch I eat a lot from Sweet Greens. I love salads and vegetable sandwiches… I love vegetarian pizza, and rigatoni with red sauce."

Pilates and Tennis

DeVitto loves being active, especially with workouts that can be done indoors to escape the brutal Chicago winters. "I work out as much as I can. I love playing tennis and I found an amazing tennis club in Chicago where I can play indoors," she says. "And yoga, which should be free for everyone! It's the best because you can easily do it in your home."

No Caffeine

DeVitto no longer drinks coffee. "I love having a big thermos of hot water with lemon on me at all times now," she says. "It does something for me in the morning that coffee didn't. I've run rather anxious in my whole system ever since I was a kid. Once I stopped drinking caffeine—and I was drinking about five cups of coffee a day—I felt like a whole new person. I couldn't believe it. I feel like I wasted years of my life, and I realize that caffeine was exacerbating that anxiety so much. I drink a lot more water now. And my favorite (caffeine-free) tea is by Ron Teeguarden, the Dragon Herbs guy. I drink his Spring Dragon Longevity Tea occasionally with honey and almond milk in it. I love it."

4

Vegan Lifestyle

DeVitto is passionate about a vegan lifestyle. "I'm vegan in my fashion and vegetarian in my food," she says. "I don't buy any leather goods or anything made from animal products – no down, nothing. It's something people should be mindful of. I love MacNat purses, and I bought a Vaute winter coat that's not down and it's warmer than any other coat I've ever owned. [The company] was started by a Chicago woman [Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart] who wanted to create a [vegan] coat warm enough to sustain Chicago winter weather. She totally succeeded."

Spiritual Practices

DeVitto loves guided meditations and Reiki healing. "Mornings I believe are super, super sacred, and I do this book called A Course in Miracles that I discovered when reading one of (spiritual teacher) Marianne Williamson's books," she says. "And I work with this fantastic energy healer named Janet Raftis. She's based in Atlanta, so we do a lot of remote healing sessions over the phone. She sends you the audio afterwards so you can sit and listen to them as many times as you need. She has a lot of guided meditations that I'm always listening to. She's done a ton of retreats that I go to. We do a lot of intuitive coaching together. So she coaches me on how to use the tools that she uses on myself. I got certified with Reiki through her, so I do it myself now, which has been a complete game changer as well."
