Courtney Conlogue, an American pro surfer, posted her dancing and vibing in nature on Instagram captioned, “who else does this in nature? Raise your hand haha 🤷‍♀️🤣🙋‍♀️💃 #letitflow.” The California native started surfing at a very young age, leading to her being the youngest on the USA Junior Surf Team. She has the same vibrant energy, drive, and dedication, when it comes to approaching her health and wellness routine. Here are some habits she’s formed to stay in great shape.

1. She enjoys surfing

Of course, surfing is a big part of her workout routine. It takes practice! “I love the elements of nature and its unpredictability. I also love how surfing brings you to travel the world and explore with sport,” she said to Surfgirl Magazine. “Of course I love it or else I wouldn’t do it. Surfing is what I am meant to do. I have loved it since the start. I think any athlete is stoked when they can do their sport for a living.”

2. Her health is important to her

Courtney Conlogue.2Courtney Conlogue/Instagram

Her health is always at the forefront of her mind. “My health is very important to me,” Conlogue said. “Of course, what I eat has a direct affect on how I am feeling, my personal performance, mental focus and awareness, training routines, energy levels, sleep patterns, and quality of life.”

3. She works on her strength

Courtney Conlogue.3Courtney Conlogue/Instagram

She works on developing her strength. “I do a lot of various exercises and I spend a lot of time staying fit to prevent injury and to be physically and mentally prepared for my events. I took up prone paddling after my ankle injury. It’s incredible for upper body strength and endurance. I’m going to keep up with it because I really enjoy it very much,” she said.

4. She keeps her workouts interesting

Courtney Conlogue.4

She likes to mix up her workouts. “I do many different exercises with weights, TRX bands, stability work, core strength routines, cycling, swimming, etc. I go to a gym that specializes in gymnastics too. There are many different ways a surfer can increase their abilities in the sport. The list actually goes on and on! I enjoy trying new things and discovering other alternatives to keep it exciting and evolving,” she said.

5. She stays in the moment during competitions

Courtney Conlogue.5Courtney Conlogue/Instagram

She aims to stay in the moment. “To be honest I just focus on the moment at hand and being in the now just before my heat. Of course there are several things I do the morning of the event to get my body ready. I always have a warm up session the morning before the call of the day. There are many routines with different equipment to ready my muscles and mind. Since my ankle injury many of those routines have changed and I’ve learned a lot about doing things smart,” she said.

Dancing With the Stars’ Emma Slater is preparing for the official show tour to wrap up, and she’s clearly a little sad about the fun coming to an end. Slater, 35, shared a cute video of herself wearing black jogging pants and an athletic shirt, dancing on the beach with Harry Jowsey, Rylee Arnold, and Alan Bersten. “Final week on tour 🥹,” Jowsey captioned the video. “Can’t believe it’s nearly over 😢,” Slater commented on the video. Here’s what Slater’s training, wellness, and fitness routine looks like.

1. Dance-Based Workouts

Slater’s workouts are, unsurprisingly, dance-based. “I love to do workouts such as bar method training, which is the perfect mix of Pilates, dance and cardio for me,” she told New Beauty. “While the DWTS tour is happening, we get a lot of cardio in just by doing the show, but all the female dancers usually still went to the gym together during the day. I like to do leg lifts out to the side and behind me, alternating each leg. To mix it up, you can add some push-ups in between changing sides so you can get a more complete workout. Planking is the best for a strong core!”

2. Water and Warm Ups

Slater stays hydrated and always stretches before and after her workouts. “I try to drink lots of water; it’s such a key element to staying healthy and active,” she told New Beauty. My football legend celebrity partner Rashad Jennings took over our daily warm-ups and we did lots of hamstring stretches through a series of drills over a 20-yard stretch. I also needed to warm my neck up a lot too because I am most prone to tight shoulders and neck twinges!”

3. Rest and Recovery

Slater is careful to allow the right amount of time for recovery after dancing. “It’s hard to maintain an injury-free body when you are doing that amount of dancing,” she told Richmond Family Magazine. “We travel with a physical therapist, Sandra. She warms us up, provides us with ice packs and stretches us out. She works on any injuries or stress on our bodies.”

4. Movie Dreams

Slater would love to make more movies. “I definitely would love to act even a little bit more and put my foot into the door there,” she told Nicki Swift. “I feel like dancing and acting are so closely linked in the sense it's a form of expression, and that's probably why I became a dancer. I wanted to be an actress first so doing Mamma Mia! was so fun for me, getting to work with Meryl Streep.”

5. Hair On Set

Slater is thrilled with how the beauty department on set takes care of her and develops amazing new looks. “The hair department at DWTS is no joke!” she told New Beauty. “They seriously have everything you can think of that involves hair. Hair pieces, products, heat tools, nets, accessories, wigs and the list goes on. One of my favorite looks was a dreadlock look that I did while dancing a mambo with Tommy Chong. Mary who is the head of the hair department added blond dreadlock clips to my hair and crimped my natural hair in between it for a really voluminous ‘Islander’ effect. I loved it!”

1. This is How She Stays Grounded

“I try and read every single day. It grounds me and makes me feel in control. And I absolutely love thriller novels, so it keeps me entertained. I also feel like pleasure reading everyday keeps your brain active and your body calm. I also drink at least half my body weight, in ounces, of water every day. Staying hydrated is such a must- and I genuinely feel better when my body is fully hydrated. And I two walks a day, with my puppy, is always a must. Of course, for Emmy, but also to keep my body active and fresh air always makes me feel better. Some days, when I am having a really hard time waking up, I'll go on an early chilly walk with Emmy and it sets such an awesome energized tone for the rest of my day,” she told E! Online.

2. She Works Out Using Virtual Reality

“Honestly, my favorite way to break a sweat right now is playing VR. We got a virtual reality headset, right as everything was shutting down, and it's been AMAZING during quarantine. There are so many games that make you work up a sweat and it's so awesome. I am genuinely so sore after I play,” she told E! Online.

3. She Tried Zumba During the Pandemic

amfAR Gala Los Angeles 2021 - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

“Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — to help improve cardiovascular fitness,” says the Mayo Clinic. “Zumba is an aerobic activity that can count toward the amount of aerobic activity recommended for most healthy adults by the Department of Health and Human Services. The guidelines recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week, or a combination of moderate and vigorous activity. But even small amounts of physical activity are helpful. Being active for short periods of time throughout the day can add up to provide health benefits.”

4. She Has a Trainer Who Gets Her

2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards - Red CarpetMatt Winkelmeyer/2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards/Getty Images

She and trainer Paolo Mascitti have an understanding. “If my body is so sore and I need a day off, he's so understanding about that,” she told Self. “My mental health is the priority, and my mental health is always better when I am active. But sometimes when your body hurts, you're like, I can't do anything, I don't want to get up. And so he's very patient. If there's a day that I feel the need to be a little bit more gentle with myself, he's great.”

5. She Likes Group Classes

23rd Costume Designer Guild AwardsStefanie Keenan/Getty Images

“I always do a little bit better in a class setting or in-person, just because I think that I have a competitive nature in workout classes,” she told Self. “So I feel like I can really hit it hard.”

6. She Celebrates Good Times, Come On

Veuve Clicquot Polo ClassicGregg DeGuire/Getty Images

“Whenever [her boyfriend] Anthony [de la Torre] and I finish a workout or finish doing something that will better our physical bodies or our mind, he makes us clap and validate ourselves. We put on... I think it's called ‘Celebration,’” from Kool and the Gang, she tells Bustle. “He puts on ‘Celebration’ on speakers around the house. We're supposed to celebrate ourselves for 30 seconds or a minute because, he says, you have to tell yourself to celebrate these small steps that you've taken to take care of yourself. So when I finish working out, we clap and dance. It’s awesome.”

7. This is Her Wind-Down Routine

Premiere Of Disney's "Mulan" - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

“I’m the type of person who works out in the morning to get it over with, because I know that when I get home, I just want to take a bath and eat some pasta and watch a show. So that’s what I do. Anthony… and I have been doing these incredible magnesium CBD baths every night. That’s been really amazing for my muscles because I’ve been working out more to get ready for my next movie. With everything our bodies have gone through in the past year, it really is so important to tell your muscles that it's OK to relax and to let your body heal. So I highly recommend tub time,” she tells Bustle.

The Next Step star Briar Nolet recently told fans and followers she has never felt better, both physically and mentally—and it shows, just from her social media alone. Nolet, 25, shared a video of herself wearing pink workout gear, doing exercises on a Pilates reformer machine. “Embracing the slow burn,” she captioned the post. “Get it girl🔥,” a fan commented. Nolet is going from strength to strength both career-wise and with her wellness regimen—here’s how the dancer and actress stays fit, happy, and healthy.

1. Dancing Queen

Nolet has wanted to be a dancer from a very early age. “Music, and the freedom of movement made me fall in love with dancing,” she told Somewhere Between. “Once I started training competitively I was hoping it was gonna be a big part of my life, but I would say around 13 was when I knew I wanted dance to be a part of my life forever. I definitely channel my personal experiences and stories through my dancing. I would say my favorite style would be a mix of jazz, hip hop, and acro in one. Along with contemporary, so hard to pick between those two.”

2. Yoga and Sleep

Nolet relies on good lifestyle habits to stay strong and healthy. “Good sleeps, healthy eating, stretching to cool down my body after a show, doing a workout or yoga class on the morning of a show, and getting a good warm up in right before the show!” she told Somewhere Between. “Over the next 5-10 years I’d love to be adding music to my career. Becoming my own artist/musician and adding that to my dance.”

3. Total Transformation

Nolet is in the best health of her life thanks to a complete lifestyle overhaul. “In October I committed to a total physical and lifestyle transformation that has taught me so much about myself and my body,” she captioned an Instagram post. “This was something that not only challenged me physically but also surpassed what I believed I could have ever tackled mentally. Fast forward to today and I honestly feel a profound difference in myself.”

4. She Has Had Seizures

Purple,Day.,Epilepsy,Awareness,Day.,Awareness,Purple,RibbonShutterstock

Nolet has spoken about her battle with epileptic seizures that were triggered when she tried to learn choreography, and how medication (Levetiracetam) helped with the symptoms. “Of course, I can’t see the future, but this medication has really worked wonders for now,” she told Women’s Health. “I'm doing everything I possibly can to prevent another seizure—taking my medicine at the same time every day, eating well, taking care of my body, making sure I'm resting, taking vitamins that help with neurology.”

5. Working With Jennifer Lopez

Nolet was absolutely thrilled to work with Jennifer Lopez, someone she has always looked up to. “The Next Step and World Of Dance have been two of the most memorable experiences so far,” she told Somewhere Between. “[Meeting Lopez] was very exciting and surreal! They are such inspirations so I was so excited to show them what I could do and receive feedback!”

Oksana Grishina in Two-Piece Workout Gear Says "You are Stronger Than You Think"
Oksana Grishina / Instagram

Oksana Grishina is a fitness powerhouse. A former Ms. Olympia and multiple-time Arnold Classic champion, she’s carved out a name for herself as one of the most elite competitors in the world. Beyond the stage, she’s a dedicated coach, helping others achieve their fitness goals.

Recently, Grishina took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her gym grind, posting a striking photo of herself in peak form. Dressed in a sleek white workout top and black leggings, she delivered an empowering message: “You are stronger than you think.” The post isn’t just motivational—it’s a testament to her relentless commitment to health and strength.

So, how does she stay in such incredible shape? From stair-stepping workouts to consistent weightlifting, here’s a look at Grishina’s go-to fitness secrets.

She Does A Stepmill

Grishina shares a lot of her favorite workouts on Instagram. She recently had a baby, and has been documenting her journey of losing pregnancy weight. One thing Grishina is doing is using a stepmill. She shared this video of herself doing so, captioning it, “Recovery!!! Here we go💪🏼 Instead of the boring treadmill, I decided to do the stepmill 🔥In the process of getting back in shape😤”

She’s Consistent

Grishina makes sure to stay consistent with her fitness. She made sure to workout while she was pregnant. Grishina shared her pregnancy workout in this Instagram post. She captioned it, “Obviously my workout schedule has changed since I got pregnant but hasn’t been one day that I missed it💪🏼My pregnancy workout schedule: Morning- 30 min cardio bicycle or treadmill🚴 Day- 30-40 min light weight or body weight workout 🏋️♀️ Evening- 20 min cardio bicycle 🚴 Will it help keep your shape? Absolutely not but I promise you’ll feel better and stronger.”

She Uses A Stationary Bike

Grishina revealed in the previous post’s caption that she uses a stationary bike to keep herself in shape. Penn State PRO Wellness says, “Riding a stationary exercise bike is an efficient and effective way to burn calories and body fat while strengthening your heart, lungs, and muscles. Compared to some other types of cardio equipment, a stationary bicycle puts less stress on your joints, but it still provides an excellent aerobic workout.”

She Uses A Treadmill

Grishina also revealed in the previous Instagram post caption that she does treadmill workouts. Using a treadmill has a lot of benefits. Healthy Talbot reports, “Treadmills are mostly used for cardio training. However, this fitness machine can be used for more boosting your cardiovascular health. It’s ideal for strengthening your muscles, including glutes, thighs, and calves. With treadmill workouts, you can always optimize the sessions to suit your goals. For instance, inclining the treadmill will stretch out the calves and glutes harder. This will help to tone and build muscle mass in your buttocks, legs, and thighs.”

She Lifts Weights

Grishina is seen lifting weights in the previous Instagram post. Lifting weights has a lot of health benefits. ACE Fitness states, “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

A growing body of scientific evidence supports teaching patients how to cook meals at home as an effective medical intervention for improving diet quality, weight loss, and diabetes prevention.”

She Works Hard

Clark made sure to work hard to get herself in shape. She opened up about her fitness journey after having surgery in the caption of this Instagram post. “The far left photo was about a month before my emergency surgery. My intestines twisted and I was rushed into surgery. The doctors said there is no reason your intestines can twist - it can happen to anyone at anytime. I completely lost my core, I wasn’t able to eat so I lost a ton of weight and muscle. I literally started back at square 1. It was a nightmare. The middle photo was a couple months after surgery. As you can see my glute, legs, arms, everything was just gone. The right photo was about a year after my surgery. I am stronger than I have ever been. Mentally, physically and emotionally because I never gave up. Not every day was easy but I took it one day at a time. If you’re starting on your fitness journey for the first time, or restarting remember that you have to celebrate the small goals. You will get stronger in every single way. If I can do it, I know you can too!”

She Does Full Body Workouts

Clark makes sure to workout her entire body. She shared a full-body workout with weights in this Instagram video. Emily Elizabeth is heating up Hawaii – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post the model and influencer shows off her amazing figure in a two-piece while on the beaches of the tropical paradise. “Hawaii >> 🌺🌈,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Simply Beautiful ❤️🏖❤,” commented one of her followers. “🔥😍perfect,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Hydration

Emily prioritizes hydration. Not only does she drink water, but also electrolyte enhanced fruit. “Fresh coconut,” she captioned a photo from Bora Bora. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

Coffee

Emily enjoys the perks of caffeine. Here she is drinking a cup of coffee. According to the Cleveland Clinic, there are several benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Snowboarding

While you can usually find Emily in the tropics, sometimes she heads over to the mountains for winter sports. In one of her photos she goes snowboarding. According to the University of Rochester, snowboarding, like skiing, is a great cardiovascular workout. “Because they are also weight-bearing exercises, they strengthen your bones as they tone your muscles,” they say. “Cardiovascular or aerobic exercises also work to reduce your risk for chronic diseases, and lower blood pressure. They also help you maintain a healthy body weight. Through regular aerobic exercise like skiing and snowboarding, you lower your risk of developing conditions like diabetes and heart disease, having a stroke, and perhaps even getting cancer.”

Snorkeling

While on vacation Emily throws on a mask and fin and goes snorkeling. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Walking

She also takes her dog for walks. Here she is strolling in Central Park with her pooch. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.
