Cowboys Cheerleader Dani McGinnis Shows Off Amazing Body in New Workout Selfie: "Don't Worry"

Learn about her skiing, coffee, walking, Pilates, and yoga routines.

Dani McGinnis is hitting the gym with a pal – in her two-piece workout gear. In a new social media post the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader flaunts her washboard abs wearing a crop top and black leggings as she poses for a mirror selfie with a pal. She shared the image via her Instagram Stories. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Skiing

Dani recently spent the day on the slopes, her “first time ever skiing” in Washington while home for the holidays. Research has linked downhill skiing to a number of health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress and the occurrence of memory deficits declines.

Coffee

Dani is a coffee drinker. You can find her holding onto a cup (she prefers iced) in many of her videos. According to the Cleveland Clinic, there are several benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Walking

@danimcginnis

In another post detailing an average day in her life, she hits the trails in Dallas and goes for an hour-long walk. How much should you walk? A 2018 study published in the journal Obesity found a link between walking 10,000 steps a day and weight loss and weight management. Other studies published by the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) in JAMA Neurology and in JAMA Internal Medicine also linked walking 10,000 steps a day to less dementia and less cardiovascular disease overall, with less heart disease, less heart failure and fewer strokes.

Pilates

Dani does a lot of Pilates. “Planning next week’s format,” she captioned a TikTok video of herself on the Pilates reformer. Why is pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic there are lots of benefits to the workout, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Yoga

Dani McGinnis and a friend take a mirror selfie.PilatesDani McGinnis/Instagram

Dani is also a fan of yoga. In fact, she even goes to a class where there are puppies. There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” they said. “People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”

Hunter McGrady, the plus-sized model, returned to her roots this week. McGrady appeared in Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit edition. SI Swim posted McGrady’s photo on their Instagram page. In it, she wore a strapless multicolored two piece, showing off her curves. “This year in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit for me felt different than any years past. I was just shy of 6 months postpartum when I shot and I felt like superwoman. I went into this knowing that my body would look wildly different than before and yet that is what excited me the most. SI has loved me during all stages of my life. From a 22-year-old just breaking into this business to now a new mom. I have always felt celebrated and felt like SI was my safe space to show up, be me, and have a platform for women of my size to be heard and valued,” she wrote. “Beautiful,” said one commenter. Read on to see 5 ways Hunter McGrady stays healthy and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Practices Meditation

McGrady revealed her wellness secrets in an interview with Teen Vogue. She reveals that she loves to practice meditation. “I consider meditating my own little work out. A lot of people focus on physical activity, but for me I take time to meditate and work out my brain. To just take time for myself to find that peace. I wish I had a more set schedule.

2. She Works Out For Her Mental Health

McGrady is open about her struggles with her mental health, specifically depression and anxiety. She says that physical activity has helped with her struggles. “What I found was working out was a huge reliever of that,” she tells Teen Vogue. “More than physical health, working out for me is for mental health.”

3. She Love SoulCycle

McGrady opened up about her fitness regime to Teen Vogue. She revealed that she likes to take a specific class at her gym. “My new all time fave is Soul Cycle. It's nice for me to get out of my head and work myself to this goal. They like to push you [at Soul Cycle]...and it's really rewarding, and all the while being great for my physical health as well.”

4. She Works Out In Her Free Time

McGrady has a busy schedule, but she always makes time to get a workout in. She tells Teen Vogue, “Because of my job, I'm constantly traveling. Any time I can get [a workout] in, any time I have a free hour I try to do anything: at home, on a plane.”

5. She Wants To Inspire Others

McGrady tells The Cut that one of the reasons she decided to try modeling for Sports Illustrated was to inspire other curvy girls. She says that she wanted to increase body diversity in the fashion and swimsuit modeling industry. “I wanted women to feel positive and I wanted them to feel confident when they picked up this magazine, and that they could relate to me in some way. It’s been overwhelming, in the best way possible.”

Morgan Wade is a successful singer. She is known for her songs like “Fall In Love With Me” and “2AM in London.” Wade recently had a double mastectomy. She shared her recovery process on Instagram this week. She captioned the post, “It’s been 4 months and I’ve been back to powerlifting and running. Started back to that around January. There have been a few things I haven’t been able to do until now - the last month I’ve finally been back to doing what I want.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Morgan Wade stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Works Out Regularly

Analog,Alarm,Clock,Displaying,Five,O'clock,On,A,Yellow,BackgroundShutterstock

Wade makes fitness a priority. She shared her exercise routine on TikTok. “Every morning, I wake up at 5 AM. I go to the gym,” Wade said. “It just helps me to keep an active lifestyle, while I’m out on the road. Staying in shape and maintaining a workout routine is top priority for me…Getting my daily exercise in – reduces my anxiety, boosts my endurance, helping me perform longer, and better on stage. So when I work out on the road, I’m able to be the best version of myself - both mentally and physically.”

2. She Does A Variety Of Workouts

Wade likes to do a lot of different things to stay in shape. She shared some of her favorites with TikTok. “I always try to start with a little bit of cardio. I run, typically ranges…you know, try to get a couple of miles in every day. Then depending on the day, I’ll switch between like arms, legs, and chest. I try to hit abs every day, just depends. I follow Cory Gregory’s workout routine. So, kind of whatever I can do and get a hold of on the road.”

3. She Surrounds Herself With Positivity

In an interview with CMT, Wade says that she does things that inspire positivity in her. “I go to the gym and journal in the morning. I write down three things I’m grateful for. I try to start my day out right. I listen to some positive podcasts, I continually read self-help books, biographies about positive people that have made changes in the world. I am trying to surround myself with really positive things, because I know that I can get kind of stuck in my head. If I’m not feeding my mind good things and taking care of myself, that’s when I really start to slip.”

4. She’s Proactive

In her recent Instagram post, Wade talked about why she chose to have the surgery done. She says that she wanted to be proactive and protect herself. “I haven’t talked much about my post surgery recovery from my double mastectomy and reconstruction I had back in November. For those that don’t know I have the rad51d gene mutation and with my family history of breast cancer I decided to be proactive.”

Deonna Purrazzo is showing off her swimsuit body and her fiancé. The bride-to-be and WWE star looks gorgeous in her latest social media photo, cozying up to her almost husband while taking a dip in the pool. “OMG,” commented one of her followers. “The water is boiling,” added another. 1. She Lives in Gratitude

Deonna makes sure to take time and appreciate everything good in her life. "This has quite possibly been the busiest month I've ever had… and one of the most rewarding. My smile is a true reflection of how I'm feeling. Grateful," she captioned a post.

2. She “Claps Back” at Body Shamers

"Twitter saw this CLAP-BACK first 👏👏👏 I could go on and on about body shaming and cyberbullying, but they don't deserve the attention. But, I'll always be LOUD about loving yourself and all that you are, no matter what anyone else has to say."

3. She Hikes

When she isn’t training, you can find Deonna out hiking in nature. “There’s a lot I could say about the Grand Canyon, but it all feels too deep. In all seriousness, this trip was absolutely breathtaking. Looking out and seeing all those colors was like a dream,” she captioned this post about one of her hiking trips.

4. She Trains Hard

To keep her body in fighting form, Deonna puts in long hours at the gym. She shared a clip from one of her workouts on Twitter, squatting with incredibly heavy weights, writing “my heaviest this particular day was 215lb x 4 reps.”

5. She Celebrates Her Strength

Deonna is strong and proud of it! “Stop using the gym as a photoshoot and workout...” she tweeted alongside a photo of herself showing off her guns. “oh..... OK,” she added. "Bones lose calcium and weaken with age, but strength training can help slow or sometimes even reverse this trend. Not only can strength training make you look and feel better, but it can also result in better performance of everyday activities, such as climbing stairs and carrying bundles. Stronger muscles also mean better mobility and balance, and thus a lower risk of falling and injuring yourself. In addition, more lean body mass aids in weight control because each pound of muscle burns more calories than its equivalent in fat," says Harvard Health.

1. She Hires Professionals

MacKenzie-McKee-1MacKenzie McKee/Instagram

Prior to starting her fitness business, Body By Mac, the reality star enlisted professionals to help get her into shape. "For the first time, I've hired a trainer," she told OK!. "I am training for a body building competition." "Learn to do each exercise correctly. When lifting weights, move through the full range of motion in your joints. The better your form, the better your results, and the less likely you are to hurt yourself. If you're unable to maintain good form, decrease the weight or the number of repetitions. Remember that proper form matters even when you pick up and replace your weights on the weight racks," says the Mayo Clinic. "If you're not sure whether you're doing a particular exercise correctly, ask a personal trainer or other fitness specialist for help."

2. Her Diet Is Strict

Healthy,Green,Organic,Raw,Broccoli,Florets,Ready,For,CookingShutterstock

Mackenzie maintains a healthy diet and eats a lot to fuel herself for fitness. “My diet is pretty strict however, I eat more than an average person eats. I meal prep Sundays for the whole week and I stick to my diet 7 days a week, which consists of a lot of grains and a lot of broccoli and beans! And a lot of lean meats, egg whites, chicken, white fish, oatmeal with blueberries and plant based protein,” she told OK.

3. She Maintains It’s About Finding Balance

MacKenzie-McKee-2MacKenzie McKee/Instagram

"The hardest part is definitely starting. You begin to look at food as poison to your body! It's like my whole day is ruined if I don't work out. In the beginning I hated running. Once you start and get motivated, you learn to love it. It's hard starting," she told OK. "We are human, there are days when you have your off days, but it's about finding that balance and know when to get back on the grind."

4. She Saw a Hormone Specialist

MacKenzieMcKeeMacKenzie McKee/Instagram

MacKenzie struggled to lose weight by dieting and working out “like a mad woman,” before seeing a doctor and discovering she had a hormone imbalance. “And this my friends is why you should go see a hormone specialist and see where your body is before going after your fitness goals. Took my testosterone from a 15 to 250. I can’t wait to see what my body does for next prep,” she revealed in a tweet.

5. She Is All About “Challenges”

MacKenzie-McKee-3MacKenzie McKee/Instagram

As part of her fitness program, MacKenzie encourages fitness challenges to stay on track. “Who’s ready for Summer? The level up fitness team has been working HARD to create the perfect back to summer program for you,” she captioned this photo, introducing her four week fitness program.

Water Skiing

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

We are committed to bringing you researched, expert-driven content to help you make more informed decisions around food, health, and wellness. We know how important making choices about your overall health is, and we strive to provide you with the best information possible.

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Pilates

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
