CrossFit Athlete Dani Horan in Two-Piece Workout Gear Says “Move Your Body”

Here's how she stays in shape.

Dani Horan is a CrossFit Athlete. Last month, she shared some of her favorite workouts in a reel on her Instagram. Horan is seen doing things like bike riding, weightlifting, and running. She captioned the reel, “Do you move your body every day? 🧐🚶🏻‍♀️When we move our body it has the ability to make positive changes not only physiologically, but psychologically. Our bodies were made to move!”

She Does Squats

Horan is seen doing squats in her Instagram reel. The Cleveland Clinic reports that the exercise has a lot of benefits. “Engaging large muscle groups helps burn calories both during and after exercise. One study found that squats burn about 35 calories per minute, aiding in weight management and fat loss…Proper squatting form requires you to reaaaaally engage your core — the muscles of your stomach, pelvis, hips and lower back. These large muscle groups support every move you make, both large and small, so keeping them strong helps keep you well.”

She Uses Weights

Horan is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram reel. ACE Fitness states that using weights has a lot of benefits. “Using heavy weights increases intramuscular coordination, the number of type II motor units and the amount of muscle fibers engaged within a specific muscle. Have you ever felt your muscles shaking while lifting heavy weights? This is because you are recruiting and activating the larger type II muscle fibers, which are only stimulated to work when a muscle is challenged with heavy resistance or working to fatigue.”

She Bikes

Horan is seen going on a bike ride in her Instagram video. Better Health states that biking has a lot of benefits. “To be fit and healthy you need to be physically active. Regular physical activity can help protect you from serious diseases such as obesity, heart disease, cancer, mental illness, diabetes and arthritis. Riding your bicycle regularly is one of the best ways to reduce your risk of health problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle. Cycling is a healthy, low-impact exercise that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from young children to older adults. It is also fun, cheap and good for the environment.”

She Works Out Consistently

Horan makes sure to workout on a regular basis. She talked about this in the caption of her reel. “I know when I move my body every day I feel really good. My movement strongly varies day to day. Sometimes I take CrossFit Class @champlainvalleycf or I go for a long walk with the dogs or I coach Classes/Private Session. I just move my body. Get the blood flowing, heart beating a little bit faster and move my muscles.”

She Changed Her Workouts

Horan talked about how her workouts have changed in her Instagram post’s caption. “It’s also normal and healthy to allow movement to have seasons/change. My movement today looks drastically different than in 2015 and I’m good with that. In fact, I wish I knew now what I know about movement in 2015 because I would have changed a few things with my training.…At first it was difficult for me to not be, ‘Lifting Heavy and Pushing Workouts Hard’ all the time. I think it was also learning to develop different habits when it came to movement, and understanding it’s OK to only touch a barbell once per week. 😉 A few years later and I’m learning.”
