Hiking
According to Derek, he and Hayley enjoy getting physical outside, going for runs or hikes in the woods. "Being around nature, it resets me," Hough told People. "Being in the trees, under the sky, going to Yosemite, or in a park — for me those types of workouts are not just physical workouts, but also emotional workouts, too."
Plant-Based Eating
Hough explained to Us that he and Hayley recently upped their veggie intake. "We both are trying the vegan thing right now and it's actually really easy. People are like, 'Is it hard?' and I'm like, 'nah.' Living in LA, it's actually hard not to be [vegan]. I feel great. I have a lots of energy, my skin has cleared up, I feel great."
Cheat Meals
Hayley understands the importance of cheat meals. "I have the popcorn and I have the nachos. That's my vice," Hough told Us. "I go to the movies and I just eat tons of popcorn and stuff like that. And she had donuts. She loves sugar."
Priotizing Rest
Hough maintains that his wife prioritizes rest. "Haley's taught me a lot about relaxing," he told Us. "About just sitting down and relaxing and enjoying the moment. I'm always going to go, go, go, go, personally," he added. "Like, let's do this. Let's do that. Let's do this, and I'm still like that. But, it's a good balance. We have a great balance with that."
Snorkeling
Hayley loves swimming with fish. "Pure magic," she captioned an Instagram post. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits of putting on a mask and snorkel may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.
