Demi Lovato in Two-Piece Workout Gear is "The Baddest on Earth"

From self-care to skincare, the singer shares her secrets to feeling her best.

Demi Lovato has built a career on confidence, talent, and authenticity—and she brings that same energy to her health and wellness routine. The singer, actress, and Child Star producer recently gave fans a glimpse into her daily life, sharing a casual photo dump on Instagram. From playing with her dogs to gaming with her fiancé, Lovato also showed off her workout gear in the mix. “Another day, another dump,” she captioned the post. Whether she’s practicing self-care, prioritizing skincare, or blocking out negativity, here’s how Lovato stays feeling her best.

She Practices Self-Care

Lovato talked about the importance of self-care in an interview with Cosmopolitan. “Self-care is really important to me. And it's about taking care of myself. Doing whatever makes me feel the healthiest—whether it's going on a walk or working out or taking a bath, getting a massage, whatever it is that I feel like is going to be the most beneficial to my self-love routine—is what I focus on.”

She Ignores The Comments

Lovato tells Cosmopolitan that she has learned to not care what people think of her. “I used to be affected by the comments on social media when I was younger, and the way that I've tuned it out is realizing that my joy doesn't come from comments on the internet. It actually comes from real deep and meaningful connections to the people that I love and care about. So I spend more time with them, and I care less about what people say on the internet. I just know that my happiness doesn't stem from outside validation; it really stems from within.”

She Takes Care Of Her Skin

Lovato shared her skincare routine in her Cosmopolitan interview. “Every day I have a diligent skincare routine where I use cleanser and a toner, then a day cream and an eye cream. Then at night, I use the same cleanser, same toner, a serum, a night cream and an eye cream. Twice a week, I also use a peel, a scrub, and a mask. I'm very, very strict [with it].”

She Takes Care Of Her Hair

Lovato shared her hair routine with Cosmopolitan. “I use K18, and that's kept my hair really, really healthy. I also love Olaplex for the shampoo, but I am definitely trying to grow it out. I have a few extensions in the front right now, but I'm trying to get it as long as possible. I'll probably use hairpieces day-of, but I'm trying to keep it healthy [until then]. I'm keeping my skin in tip-top shape, and I'm doing the same with my hair. A part of me wants to go red again—like an orangier red—but I might wait until after the wedding.”

She Uses A SPF

Lovato tells Cosmopolitan that she makes sure to wear an SPF on a regular basis. “What's funny is that I feel great going out with nothing on my face. I'm fine with that, depending on where I'm going. But, for the most part, I kind of can't live without my tinted moisturizer. For some reason, I feel very attached to that, and it also has SPF, so I'm getting sun protection too. Tinted moisturizer is where it's at for me.”

Demi Lovato is teasing her new track in her swimsuit. In one of her latest social media posts, the singer shows off her beautiful body in a bathing suit, while revealing that one of her new songs is now out. “My track with @le_sserafim “Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard’s wife” is out now,” she captioned the Instagram post. Demi has been very open about her mental and physical health struggles over the years. Here are a few of the ways she approaches health and wellness.

1. She Works Out for Her Mental and Physical Health

Demi-LovatoDemi Lovato/Instagram

While on the road, Demi has “a lot of people visit, which is really grounding for me,” she says. She also exercises, which is great for her body and mind, she says. “And I bring my trainer on the road. We work out and that centers mean mentally and physically. That helps a lot,” she told Vogue.

2. She Is Open About Her Eating Disorder Struggles

Los,Angeles,-,Feb,2:,Demi,Lovato,At,The,StellaShutterstock

“The very first time that I went to treatment was when I was 18,” Lovato told Today in an interview. “I went from my eating disorder, and I went for self-harm and emotional issues.” She added: “When you’re looking at images of people with perfect bodies, you start to look at yourself, and you start to pick yourself apart, and it’s hard to grow up in a world where that’s right in front of your face and at your fingertips at all times, she added. “I grew up in a period of time where young Hollywood was very, very, very thin, and that was the look, and I think that had a really negative impact on my eating just on my mental health, which I think fed into my eating disorder.”

3. She Uses Her Experiences to Help Others

Another,Beautiful,Quote,Of,The,Day.Shutterstock

“I wanted to help others,” Demi explains about why she chooses to be open about her health issues. “I wish that I had somebody when I was 13 years old and having an eating disorder and starving myself. I wanted somebody in the public eye to say that ‘Hey, this is what I’ve gone through, and you don’t have to choose that route.’” She added: "I want them to know that talking to people and asking for help is more than okay and is absolutely what you should do," she said.

4. She Is Okay with Having “Bad Days

Demi,Lovato,Attends,The,World,Premiere,Of,"scream,Vi",AtShutterstock

Demi now has tools to handle hard times. “I don’t want to paint the facade that everything is totally perfect and fine. But I am in a really good place, and it has been kind of challenging to write a happy rock album,” she atold Today. “But I’m doing it! But I have bad days. I had a bad day on Sunday. I realized that even to this day, no matter how happy I might feel and seem. I’m human, and it’s okay to still struggle even when you’re in a great place.”

5. She Suffers From Hearing Impairment and Vision Loss From Her Heroin Overdose

In an interview with Andy Cohen for SiriusXM, Lovato shared that five years after the heroin overdose that almost left her dead, she is still suffering health-wish in the form of hearing loss and vision impairment. “I wouldn’t change my path because I don’t have any regrets. When I think about things, the closest thing that I get to a regret is when I overdosed … that overdose caused me a lot of … it actually caused a disability. I have vision impairment and hearing impairment to this day,” she said. “I don’t drive because I have blind spots in my vision. “It’s a daily constant reminder. You know, anytime I look at something, like, I have blind spots in my vision when I look at your face, and so it’s a constant reminder to stay on the right path because I never want that to happen again.”

1. She Takes Classes

As you can see from her Instagram story, Lovato likes to take fitness classes to stay in shape. These can have a lot of benefits. ACE Fitness reports, “The feeling of being part of something bigger and the camaraderie forged in group fitness classes is something that quite simply can’t be replicated. Group fitness classes exude positivity, and serve as a welcome invitation for people of all different ages, backgrounds, and ability levels to come together in one inclusive experience to move with passion and intention, all without judgement or expectation.”

2. She Does Martial Arts

Lovato shared some of her favorite workouts in an interview with SELF. She says that she does a lot of martial arts. “I did boxing today sitting down. That was pretty cool. But typically, I do a lot of circuit training. I actually love training MMA, mixed martial arts. That’s how I get a lot of my cardio in. I also love training jiu-jitsu. I incorporate cardio in my strength and conditioning so every time I work out, I do cardio and strength, too.”

3. She Takes Care Of Her Mental Health

Lovato is open about her past struggles with mental health. She shared how she takes care of it with Us Weekly. “Meditation, moments to reflect and activities like jujitsu really help me find balance and wellness in my life. Mental wellness and self-care look different for everyone, so whether it’s five minutes of meditation or an hour-long workout, just find what works for you.”

4. She Speaks Out Against Diet Culture

Weight,Loss,Pills,Scattered,From,Bottle,,Diet,Supplements,Capsules,,ObesityShutterstock

Lovato is open about her past struggles with body image and an eating disorder. She also hasn’t been afraid to speak out against society’s obsession with diets. Lovato told SELF, “I feel like we have a lot of work to do in our society with diet culture. I would like to see fewer commercials on TV for weight loss things like food programs, or exercise machines, or diet pills. Unfortunately, we live in a world where kids at a very young age are starting to judge themselves and their bodies. I feel terrible about that and I wish that it wasn’t like that. It’s sad.”

5. She Empowers Herself

Lovato shared her favorite ways to empower herself with SELF. “Working out really empowers me. It makes me feel stronger. It makes me feel more confident. That, but also...doing things that will empower me, like going to therapy and doing things to really take care of myself. I have a hot tub, I get massages, too. Massages are probably my favorite. It’s important that your body rests and that it gets taken care of. [Massages are great for] working out the kinks.”

Lovato does a lot of traveling and touring. She tells Women’s Health that she makes sure to stay healthy while on the road. “My routine is different on the road than when at home,” she says. “Performing and travelling means I have to fit in a workout whenever I can find the time. Late-night cardio sessions are not unheard of.

2. She’s All About Self Care

Lovato is all about self-care. "I believe [self-care] is like a pyramid," she said to POPSugar. "There are three things that you need to feel great. There's physical fitness, nutrition, and mental health. I think it's important to take care of yourself emotionally and physically, but mainly emotionally, because if you're not taking care of yourself emotionally, your mind can go to dark places. It's important to learn to love yourself for who you are, and accept yourself.”

3. She Loves Jiu-Jitsu

Lovato is open about her love of martial arts and fighting. She tells POPSugar, “My favorite workout is ju-jitsu. I love training ju-jitsu. When you're rolling with somebody, you're constantly thinking of defending or attacking moves, so it's kind of meditative in a way, but it's also a great workout when you're training — when you're really moving around with somebody."

4. She Functional Trains

In order to get through her performances, Lovato has to have good stamina. She tells Women’s Health that there are certain exercises that help her. “Functional training is key for my body. My shows are really energetic so I try to train my body for the dancing and physical elements of my performances. It’s tougher than it looks!”

5. She Does Active Recovery

Lovato tells Women’s Health that she sets one day aside to recover. However, she doesn’t just sit around on those days. “I don’t rest on my laurels on my day off. I really look forward to active recovery like yoga or just walking. It keeps me focused on where I want to be with my body.”

1. She Refuses to Let Her Age Define Her

The Fashion Awards 2021 - VIP ArrivalsDave Benett/Getty Images)

Demi is turning 60 in November, but refuses to let her age define her. "It's changing this idea that women become less desirable as we get older," she told People about why she opted to design a swimwear collection with Andie, encouraging older women to wear bikinis and other sexy swimsuits. "We don't want to look matronly or not feel sexy." She added: "Not being defined by a number and instead being defined by my experience. You hit 59 and you're already thinking, 'Well, I'm going to be 60.' It feels very liberating. When I think of my grandmother at 60, she in a way seemed to be already resigned to being old. But I feel, in so many ways, more alive and present than ever."

2. She Used to Obsess About Her Weight

Chloe : Front Row - Paris Fashion Week - Womenswear F/W 2022-2023Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images

In her 2019 autobiography, Inside Out, Demi revealed that she used to have an unhealthy relationship with diet and exercise. "I couldn't stop exercising…I would be on display again, and all I could think about was my body, my body, my body…I doubled down on my already over-the-top exercise routine. I cut out carbs, I ran and I biked and I worked out on every machine imaginable," she wrote. However, after G.I. Jane, she shifted her priorirites. "I had reached my limit," she said. 'When I got home to Idaho, I had an epiphany in the shower one day: I just need to be my natural size."

3. She Exercises to Stay Fit and Tone

Demi still works out but focuses on toning her body instead of losing weight, per her trainer, Gregory Joujon-Roche. He told OneBodyOneLife.com, that his client does ab and bicep curls to tone certain areas. "She wants to preserve her arms, stomach, lower body," he revealed.

4. She Works Out Using The Mirror

Moore was one of the first celebrities to endorse the at-home fitness gadget, The Mirror. She has shared videos of herself getting in a workout class via the tool. In this Instagram video, Moore is seen doing planks, plie squats, and stretches.

5. She Strives for Self-Acceptance

Demi focuses on having a healthy relationship with her body, especially as she ages. "I have had a love-hate relationship with my body," she told Harper's Bazaar. "I sit today in a place of greater acceptance of my body. And that includes not just my weight, but all of the things that come with your changing body."

1. She’s Happy to Be Where She Is

Demi's approach to life? "It's about embracing and no longer looking for what's wrong and really being in acceptance of everything. Gravity is going in directions that I'm not so fond of. I can look in the mirror occasionally and say 'you're lying, I don't look like that.' but the reality is the comfort I feel in my skin is the greatest gift. I wouldn't trade it. I'm just happy to be where I am," she told InStyle.

2. She Knows Things Change

Celebration Of Women In Cinema Gala Hosted By The Red Sea Film Festival - The 78th Venice International Film FestivalDaniele Venturelli/Getty Images

“Things do change,” Demi told W Magazine not too long ago. “The biggest difference, I think, is that I’m not in nearly as good shape physically as I have been before, and I have skin going in a direction that I would prefer it not go. There are things that just come with getting older. But I think my big mantra for this year is about acceptance. I was reading this book that was written around 1919, if I am remembering correctly, and it was very of its day. It was discussing all the ‘female’ concerns. There were some horrific suggestions on how to take care of yourself, including putting some kind of acid on your skin. But there was one thing I took away, because I think it’s true—the author said not to frown because at a certain point it will stick. And what speaks to me here is that I do believe that when we hold upset, anger, hurt, pain or bitterness, it ages us and we wear it. That isn’t to say we are always going to feel happy. But it’s important not to hold on to things.”

3. She Was Once a Workout Obsessive

Harper's Bazaar Exhibtion At Musee Des Arts Decoratifs In ParisPascal Le Segretain/Getty Images

When getting ready for certain revealing scenes in movies, “I cut out carbs, I ran, and I biked, and I worked out on every machine imaginable. I didn’t feel like I could stop exercising,” she wrote in her book. “It was my job to fit into that unforgiving military uniform I’d be wearing in two months in A Few Good Men. Getting in shape for that movie launched the obsession with working out that would consume me over the next five years. I never dared let up.”

4. She’s Used the Mirror

Tom Ford AW20 Show - ArrivalsMike Coppola/FilmMagic

Now Demi is more likely to use the Mirror, the workout device that is an actual mirror on your wall, with built-in videos that play on it. "15 min at level 1 that’s doable … right? I am stalling!" Demi wrote once in a post. "This is going to be my next jam. Okay, here I go, wish me luck."

5. She Loves Andie Swimwear

FASHION-FRANCE-WOMEN-FENDISTEPHANE DE SAKUTIN/AFP via Getty Images

"Demi was an early investor," Andie's founder and CEO, Melanie Travis, told InStyle. "We've always talked about what would make sense to do together, and then back in December of 2020 — in anticipation of a successful vaccine rollout and then what would hopefully be a great summer of friends and family, being able to travel, and get together again, across the United States — we felt like this could be the perfect summer to do a campaign together."

Lily Bowman’s Bold Message About Self-Doubt Has Fans Talking

From weight training to surfing, she does it all!

Lily Bowman’s Bold Message About Self-Doubt Has Fans Talking
Lily Bowman/Instagram

Lily Bowman isn’t just about fitness—she’s about full-throttle positivity. The Australian influencer recently shared a series of swimsuit photos on Instagram, each stamped with an empowering message. “Believe in yourself and others will too,” read one, while another encouraged fans to embrace self-confidence. In the caption, Bowman summed up her mindset with two bold words: “Aggressive positivity pls.” It’s clear she walks the talk, from her inspiring messages to the way she trains. Here’s how she stays in top shape.

She’s Comfortable With Her Weight

Bowman talked about her fitness journey in the caption of this Instagram post. In the caption, she talked about becoming comfortable with her weight. “I held myself back so much when I started my fitness journey because I was scared of gaining weight. I was constantly checking the scale and stressing if the number went up, thinking it was all fat. I restricted my food and increased my cardio, even though my goal was to get stronger and build a booty! Looking back, I wish I’d known that weight isn’t the enemy. Stop weighing yourself. Fuel your body. Set performance-based goals, and watch how much you thrive (physically & mentally) 🤍”

She Lifts Weights

In the previous Instagram video, Bowman is seen doing exercises with weights. ACE Fitness says that this has a lot of benefits. “Using heavy weights increases intramuscular coordination, the number of type II motor units and the amount of muscle fibers engaged within a specific muscle. Have you ever felt your muscles shaking while lifting heavy weights? This is because you are recruiting and activating the larger type II muscle fibers, which are only stimulated to work when a muscle is challenged with heavy resistance or working to fatigue.”

She Does Squats

Bowman is seen doing squats in the previous Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic says that they have a lot of benefits. “Here’s a quick look at the many benefits of squats, also known as bodyweight squats or air squats: Works major muscle groups. Burns calories. Strengthens your core. Improves lower body strength. Enhances stability and balance. Betters your posture.”

She Does Hip Thrusts

Bowman is also seen doing hip thrusts in the previous Instagram video. ACE Fitness says that they have a lot of benefits. “One reason why the BHT is so effective for the glutes is that in the supine position, the gluteal muscles are placed under constant tension during the entire range of motion, from the bottom of the movement, when the hips are flexed and under load, to the top of the movement, when the hips are fully extended.”

She Surfs

Bowman likes to surf to keep herself in shape. She shared this video of herself riding the waves on Instagram. Bowman captioned it, “It’s just u & ur silly little life, so go make the most of it :).” She also included some surfing photos in this carousel post. Bowman captioned it, “You know what they say, you can’t control the waves but you can learn how to surf :)”

Madi Teeuws shares her stylish looks and favorite workouts, from Pilates to strength training.

Madi Teeuws in Two-Piece Workout Gear is "Chic"
Madi Teeuws . Instagram

Madi Teeuws knows how to turn heads—both with her fashion and her fitness. The Instagram model and influencer regularly shares stylish looks, and her latest workout post is no exception. Posing in a sleek tan set with a cozy gray hoodie, she exuded effortless style. Teeuws captioned the post, “Mocha mousse x @alo runners 🐻,” giving her fans a peek into her latest activewear obsession. But it’s not just about looking good—Teeuws also puts in the work to stay fit. From strength training to Pilates, she’s got a well-rounded approach to wellness that keeps her feeling strong and energized.

She Does Workouts She Enjoys

Teeuws shared some of her favorite workouts in this Instagram video. In the caption, she revealed that she does things that she enjoys, which helps her stay consistent. “My best advice for how to make exercise sustainable is to find workouts that you actually like. These 5 leave me feeling strong and energized while not spiking my cortisol/stressing my body out. for so long I forced myself to do high-intensity cardio multiple times a week but it feels so nice to listen to my body and give it what it needs to function best.”

She Does Pilates

In the previous Instagram video, Teeuws is seen taking a reformer Pilates class. Pilates has a lot of health benefits. Better Health says, “Pilates can be an aerobic and non-aerobic form of exercise. It requires concentration and focus, because you move your body through precise ranges of motion. It requires concentration in finding a centre point to control your body through movement. Each exercise has a prescribed placement, rhythm and breathing pattern. In Pilates, your muscles are rarely worked to the point of exhaustion, so there is not always sweating or straining, just intense concentration. The workout consists of a variety of exercise sequences that are performed in low repetitions, usually five to ten times, over a session of 45 to 90 minutes. Floor based exercises performed on a mat and specialised equipment for resistance are often used.”

She Strength Trains

Teeuws revealed in the previous Instagram video that she does strength training to keep herself in shape. The Mayo Clinic says that this has a lot of benefits. “Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories. Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age.”

She Uses A Treadmill

Teeuws is seen walking on a treadmill to keep herself in shape in her previous Instagram video. Treadmill exercises are very beneficial. According to Healthy Talbot, they are a full body workout. “With treadmill workouts, you can always optimize the sessions to suit your goals. For instance, inclining the treadmill will stretch out the calves and glutes harder. This will help to tone and build muscle mass in your buttocks, legs, and thighs. Remember, treadmill workouts engage different muscle groups in your body. Apart from leg muscles, lumbar and abdominal muscles will be engaged while training. In other words, treadmill training will tone your stomach as well. Lastly, you’ll get light-strength workouts for your back, shoulder, and arms. This will happen as you swing the arms while running on the machine. To increase the workout intensity further, hold weights while training on the treadmill.”

She Does Leg Workouts

Teeuws doesn’t skip leg day. In the previous Instagram video, she is seen doing things like squat pulses and fire hydrants. According to Piedmont, leg workouts are extremely important. “Having strong glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings and calf muscles gives your body a strong foundation and can: Tone your lower body muscles. Boost your metabolism as you increase muscle mass. Give you a higher calorie burn as you train larger muscle groups.”

Michelle Monaghan is embracing the beauty of Thailand—and sharing a glimpse of her fitness routine along the way. The White Lotus star recently posted a series of stunning photos from her time filming in the tropical paradise, dressed in sleek two-piece workout gear. Captioning her post, “They don’t call it ‘the land of smiles’ for nothing,” Monaghan exudes joy and confidence. But her radiant energy isn’t just from soaking up the sun—she’s committed to staying active and prioritizing her well-being. From outdoor adventures to mindful workouts, here’s how she keeps herself feeling strong and balanced.

She Works Out Regularly

Monaghan shared some of her wellness secrets in an interview with InStyle. She says that she makes sure to workout on a regular basis, and shared how she stays motivated to do so. "I try to do something physical at least five times a week whether I'm with my trainer or at SoulCycle. Working toward a goal, like landing a stunt, helps me stay committed."

She Spends Time Outside

As you can see from her Instagram post, Monaghan likes to spend time outside. She does a lot of outdoor workouts to keep herself in shape, and shared some of her favorites in her InStyle interview. "I spend most of my time in Los Angeles, so I hike. If I'm near warm water, I'll surf. I just love the outdoors."

She Loves Her Body

Monaghan makes sure to love her body. She shared why she does so in an interview with Shape Magazine. "I also need to be an example for my daughter. That means I can't run around worried about what I look like. We're active together as a family — the kids go hiking and biking with us. But I don't obsess about what I eat. I love my shape because I know what it's capable of — running 13 miles, having two children, and learning to surf. I love my body so much; it's profoundly amazing. I have enormous gratitude for it."

She Eats Healthy

Monaghan makes sure to eat healthy, and broke down her diet to Shape Magazine. "I have never liked fruit. To make up for it, I have a green juice every morning, which is totally devoid of fruit but has tons of vitamins from vegetables. A typical day of eating for me is eggs or oatmeal for breakfast, soup or salad for lunch, and fish or meat and lots of veggies for dinner. I don't have a sweet tooth; I have a savory tooth. There are six or seven cheeses in my fridge at all times. My idea of snacking is putting cheeses on a platter with prosciutto and crackers and sitting in front of it and stuffing my face."

She Does Pilates

Monaghan likes to do Pilates to keep herself in shape. She shared a video on Instagram of herself doing exercises on a reformer. Monaghan captioned the post, “Wishing everyone a happy Saturday! 💛I get asked about my fitness routine a lot and to be honest, I try everything - and sometimes - I do nothing at all! 🙋🏻♀️ Like life, my workout routine ebbs and flows. 🫶 Currently, I’m in love with Pilates, thanks mostly to @embench, founder of @pilathon in Miami. Pilates is a game changer for mind, body and spirit. 💫 I’ve been training at Emily’s studio for the last six months and I’ve never felt stronger, more flexible and grounded. 🥰”
