Jennifer Stone is rock climbing in her workout gear. In a new social media post, the Wizards of Waverly Place star shows off her strong, fit figure while getting outdoor exercise. “Cracks, bats, and first time outdoor climbing by Camp 4. 🏕️🦇#yosemite #crack #outdoorclimbing #bats #camp4,” she captioned the Instagram post. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
1. Self-Care
Stone, who has diabetes, discussed the importance of self-care to Yahoo. “Self care with my diabetes diagnosis is so much about balance. I have to be very balanced about my sleep and my exercise and my diet and my stress, which with nursing is not always the easiest thing in the world,” she says.

Stone is also an advocate of taking care of her mental health. "I suffer from depression too. I have since I was 12,” she said in an interview. She maintains that the combination of antidepressants and therapy "saved my life and helped me get back to myself" and "helped me see clearer."
3. Snowboarding
Jennifer recently started snowboarding. “An adventure with @macdenalimurphey full of snowstorms, hot springs, and snowboarding for the first time…and falling on my butt many times. 🏂🗻⛷️,” she captioned a post. According to the University of Rochester, snowboarding, like skiing, is a great cardiovascular workout. “Because they are also weight-bearing exercises, they strengthen your bones as they tone your muscles,” they say. “Cardiovascular or aerobic exercises also work to reduce your risk for chronic diseases, and lower blood pressure. They also help you maintain a healthy body weight. Through regular aerobic exercise like skiing and snowboarding, you lower your risk of developing conditions like diabetes and heart disease, having a stroke, and perhaps even getting cancer.”
4. Horseback Riding
Jennifer, who is from Texas, also goes horseback riding. “You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the girl. 🐎#texasgirl #texaslove #outwest #horsebackriding #horses #loveyourroots #farmfamily #likeridingabike,” she captioned a post. According to the American Heart Association, riding horses is great for your health. Not only does it boost cardiovascular health, but builds core strength, burns calories, and lowers blood pressure. It is also great for your mental health as it helps relax you.
5. Hiking
During her recent trip to Yosemite, Jennifer spent a lot of time hiking. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:
- Building stronger muscles and bones
- Improving your sense of balance
- Improving your heart health
- Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems
