Drew Barrymore In Workout Clothes "Asked a Gen Z To Edit My Video!"
Drew Barrymore is having a little fun with editing on her social media. Barrymore, 49, shared a video of herself sitting on the floor in gray joggers and a matching shirt, going through her magazines. "I asked a Gen Z to edit my video!" she captioned the post. "I can't 😂😂," commented Joey King. Barrymore has been in the public eye since she was a child and is only getting better by the year—here's what her very fun health, wellness, and fitness regimen looks like.
Pilates Workouts
Barrymore finds working out the most fun if she can do it with her friends. Her workout regimen includes barre, cardio, dance, and weights. "I'm also starting to realize the older you get, the more you need Pilates," she told Shape. "It's such small movements and so interesting, and then you can feel it so much the next day, and it makes you stronger. And my problem with working out is consistency. It's my biggest downfall."
Morning Lemon Water
Barrymore starts her day with lemon water. "When I first woke up this morning, I had a hot water with lemon juice," she told Grub Street. "It's a great way to jump-start your body for the day. I had a great training session with my trainer, Marnie Alton. She kicks my butt, but is inspiring at the same time. It really has changed my life. For a post-workout snack, I made avocado toast. I keep it simple with mashed-up avocado, fresh lemon juice, sea salt, pepper, and sometimes chili flakes, if I'm feeling bold."
Meditation and Therapy
Barrymore does meditation and has therapy for her mental wellness. "I definitely still do my weekly therapy at any cost," she told Shape. "A 20-minute [meditation session] can be such a game changer, but for anyone who's like, I can't find that 20 minutes or that discipline [to meditate], I so relate… [find a therapist] who challenges you and really helps you figure stuff out and break cycles."
Sober Lifestyle
Barrymore doesn't drink alcohol, and enjoys mocktails with her friends. "I don't work a program, you know, that's not my jam," she told Shape. "I just cut something out that was leading to constant behavior for me that wasn't working. It's not hard for me. Drinking is way harder for me than not drinking. If you can really change, it's so liberating to your narrative of 'I'm a broken, stuck person.' I have alcohol in my house; I serve people drinks. It's a very quiet, confident process. I love partying with my friends still, so, you know, it [the holiday season] doesn't trigger me, luckily."
Vitamin E For Skin Care
Barrymore swears by vitamin E oil to keep her skin beautiful. "And I notice when I wake up in the morning, my skin just doesn't look as thirsty," she told The Zoe Report. "There's a suppleness to it and [the oil is] so hydrating and I love it. And it's really pure. It doesn't have any other additives. I think it has a little bit of olive oil in it. And it's by the brand NOW. I'm obsessed. So once or twice a week I'll just slather. When all bets are off, I'm just a vitamin E, oil-slathered little person."
