Two-time Dancing With The Stars champion and Emmy-nominee, Jenna Johnson, is keeping herself pretty busy. She shared some life updates in a recent Instagram post. She is seen taking a dance class, taking her son to a fair, modeling, and working out. In one photo, Jenna is seen posing in a blazer and bikini top. In another, she and her family posed in front of a mirror in workout gear. She captioned the post, “A little bit of everything from the past couple of weeks 🧚🏼‍♂️💘✨💃🏻🪸🌶️💅🏼🫧” How does Jenna Johnson keep herself in shape? Here are 5 of her diet and exercise secrets.

She Walks

Jenna shared some of her favorite workouts in an interview with New Beauty. She says that she likes to go on walks with her young son, Rome. “I think going on little stroller walks with my son have been so healing. Walking around the neighborhood and being in nature, being outside, getting some sunlight on your skin, those little things are so underrated.” According to research from The Cleveland Clinic, walking has a lot of benefits. “The benefits of walking for 30 minutes a day include decreasing your resting heart rate, lowering your blood pressure and LDL (your ‘bad’ cholesterol), and strengthening your heart.”

She Eats A Lot Of Protein

Jenna talked about her diet in an interview with Women’s Health. She says that she tried being a vegetarian, but it didn’t work for her. Now, Jenna focuses on eating a lot of protein each day. “I ended up gaining a bunch of weight on a vegetarian diet,” Jenna explained. “I was so low in my iron and protein intake. Once I incorporated protein back into my diet, I started slimming down.”

She Has A Healthy Approach To Eating

Jenna admitted to Women’s Health that she struggled with her relationship to food, which lead to bingeing. She says that she eating a balanced diet has changed her outlook. “Looking at food as fuel has been a game changer for me. For me, what makes me healthiest and happiest and most powerful is a happy balance of non-processed food and a lot of protein. I need it for recovery and for my muscle.”

She Loves Kombucha

Jenna shared some of her favorite foods in her Women’s Health interview. She says that she drinks kombucha twice a day. “I found out about probiotics and that’s a huge game-changer for me,” she says. “Kombucha is great for digestion—I drink it at the beginning of the day and sip on it all day.”

She Meditates

Jenna likes to practice meditation, especially when she’s performing on Dancing With The Stars. “I still get nervous before shows and I love doing some deep breathing before we go on. I’ve learned some great meditation tactics from my husband,” she revealed to New Beauty. “He’s really good about becoming really zen before our shows; I like to lock my trailer, give myself five minutes by myself where I can breathe and focus and I always say a prayer. That’s my pre-show ritual. I have to do that to clear my mind and help myself feel grounded.”
