Elizabeth Kitley is a college athlete. She is best known for playing on the women’s basketball team for Virginia Tech. Kitley shared some highlights from a trip she took to Aegina Island on Instagram. In them, Kitley is seen on the beach and enjoying steak. She captioned the post, “My Apple Watch went scuba diving in the Aegean today🤩 didn’t return itself tho.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Elizabeth Kitley stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Plays Basketball

Basketball, in its purest form, is essentially another aerobic exercise that helps you burn a great deal of calories. For each hour of basketball, you can expect to burn somewhere between 600-900 calories, depending on your weight and the intensity of your pace. Exercise is only boring if you make it so. Diversify your workouts and come up with a workout routine that is not only enjoyable, but also one that you can stick to. Contact our fitness experts today and we’ll be happy to help.

2. She Goes To The Beach

As you can see from her Instagram post, Kitley spends a lot of time at the beach. OrthoSouth.org states that spending time at the beach has a lot of health benefits. “Walking on the beach has proven benefits to your emotional and mental health. A 2019 study found that spending at least two hours in nature per week helps lower levels of cortisol, a primary stress hormone. It also increased overall feelings of well-being. Walking along the shore each day is a simple but effective way to calm the cortisol response in your brain. Try a morning stroll to help you feel more awake and alert or an evening walk to relax and unwind.”

3. She’s Inspired By Her Sister

Two,Friends,Hugging,Looking,At,The,Carpathians,Mountains.,Two,GirlsShutterstock

Kitley is extremely close to her sister, Raven. She says to Virginia Tech News that her sister inspires her to be more positive. “When I’m thinking about challenging myself, she’s definitely in the back of my mind. She’s just so positive about life and opportunities, and she wants to take advantage of everything she can, so that makes me want to do the same, even though the opportunities are different.”

4. She Loves Pasta

Elizabeth.KitleyElizabeth Kitley/Instagram

Kitley shares a lot of her favorite foods on an Instagram story highlight. In one photo, she’s seen enjoying a plate of pasta. UH Hospitals states that cold pasta has a lot of health benefits. “When simple carbohydrates like pasta and rice are freshly cooked and hot, the starch molecules they contain are widely spaced and easy to break down and digest. They are converted very quickly into sugars in the stomach and small intestine and released into the bloodstream. If starchy foods are refrigerated after cooking, another process begins. As they cool down, the starch molecules begin to rearrange themselves, becoming more tightly packed in a process called retrogradation. Once the pasta is thoroughly chilled, the natural starches are converted into resistant starches, a type of fiber that is present in many plant foods.”

1. She Gained Weight on A Place in the Sun

UK Premiere Of "A BOY CALLED CHRISTMAS", A Sky Original, Launching On Sky Cinema And In Cinemas From 26 November 2021Dave Benett/Getty Images

Amanda explained to Daily Mail that she packed on the pounds after becoming host of the popular real estate show. "I weigh around 10st 7lb. Last year I was 11st 7st, which was the heaviest I've ever been,” she said. "I put on weight while filming A Place In The Sun in Europe. We'd go out boozing, and I was eating baguettes for lunch, followed by stodgy dinners."

2. She Started Working Out

Agatha Christies "Witness For The Prosecution" - 4th Anniversary Gala Performance - VIP ArrivalsDave Benett/Getty Images

She opted to commit to healthy living. "Since then, my weight has slowly returned to normal,” she said. "I eat healthily and go to the gym four times a week." But it wasn’t easy. "I hate celebs who say they’re naturally skinny – I worked my butt off to look like this!" She added that she "isn't one of those women who can get up at 5am to go to the gym".

3. She Eats Healthy

As for diet, she maintains that it’s all about eating less. “One day I’m going to write a book about how to [lose weight]. It will be called Eat Less; Move More. It’s not rocket science,” she joked. "My take on it is that it’s about choices and trying to use good sense." When it comes to cravings she's "pretty normal" and struggles with snacking. "I have to stop myself eating the leftover fish fingers at teatime. I think I’m pretty normal in that respect!"

4. She Hikes

Amanda also stays in shape by hiking. “I will never ever tire of this place. A good old lung buster of a walk to get here then you’re rewarded with this. It’s heavenly. Next time I’m bringing a flask and a hunk of fruit cake… care to share your hidden gems?” she captioned a post from a recent hike.

5. She Reads

One way Amanda relaxes is by picking up a book and reading. In this post, she enjoys a quiet moment while on vacation, explaining that she struggled to get into holiday mode. “So this morning I woke up and thought ‘Sod it’ I cannot be everything to everyone. I need a bit of me in there somewhere. So here I am. Rose in hand, diving into the most brilliant book (have any of you read it?) and I’m just letting go. It’s taken me a few days but I think I’m finally there…. I also want you all to realise that despite the Insta perfect pictures, shit hits my fan too,” she wrote.

1. She Does Lunges

"Can’t sleep. Bring on gym training @malwina_pt. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to that pain,” Dani captioned one workout video, in which she did lunges. When doing lunges: “If you can't lower your knee to a 90-degree angle, simply go as low as you can. Do as many repetitions as you can, depending on your fitness level. Stop when you're fatigued or your form begins to suffer. For a variety, try a traveling lunge. Simply step ahead with the opposite foot rather than return to the starting position. Remember, for best results, keep your back in a neutral position and let your knee follow your foot on the way down. Keep your movements smooth and controlled,” says the Mayo Clinic.

2. She Does Box Jumps

When doing box jumps: “As you develop your jumping and landing skills, you can progress the exercise intensity and complexity by: (1) driving your arms behind you during the downward phase (illustrated), (2) driving your arms forward or upward (illustrated) during the jumping phase, (3) driving your knees towards your chest (illustrated) during the jumping phase, or (4) increasing the height of the raised platform or box,” says ACE.

3. She Hits the Heavy Bag

“When it comes to exercise, consistency is important, but so is variety. Exercise physiologist Katie Lawton says that a solid workout plan involves a good mix of cardio and strength training, but that doesn’t mean you need to train for a marathon or bench press 150 pounds. Everything comes down to what your fitness or weight loss goals are and what type of workouts you’re planning to do,” says the Cleveland Clinic.

4. She Starts Her Morning With Oats

Try overnight oats. “There are countless health benefits of overnight oatmeal. A cup will help you feel full and satisfied. People who eat oatmeal for breakfast feel full for longer and consume fewer calories at lunch than when they consume corn flakes, according to an Annals of Nutrition and Metabolism study. Overnight oats are good for your gut health. Uncooked, rolled oats that you use in overnight oats contain 8.5 grams of resistant starch. Cooked oatmeal, on the other hand, only contains 0.3 grams of resistant starch,” says our sister site Eat This, Not That!

5. She Has a Bit of Chocolate Sometimes

"In the week I'm really trying to be good and healthier and cut down on the chocolate, biscuits, crisps and stuff because that is my downfall, I just love a bag of crisps and chocolate and it don't fill me up I don't know why I do it….The only problem is after dinner I do like a bit of chocolate - I can't give that up but I'm just trying to eat a bit healthier to feel better."

1. She Lost 42 Pounds

London Celebrity Sightings - October 5, 2022Ricky Vigil/GC Images via Getty Images

A few years ago, Demi revealed a massive body transformation, after losing 42 pounds. “I've had quite a big reaction from when I posted my throwback yesterday of me in January 2019 to now and my three stone [19kg] weight difference," she said in her Instagram Stories. "I'm no professional. I was on no strict diet. I was on no strict gym routine." She proceeded to explain that she had been in a “long term, very toxic relationship” that left her isolated. “I was eating so unhealthily and a really bad lifestyle. As I came out of the relationship I started seeing my friends again and started becoming happy again and believe it or not the weight just dropped off me," Demi said. "I think I was eating out of pure depression in the evenings. Just like sadness and boredom because I was in a toxic, controlling relationship, so I thought as soon as I got out of the relationship I naturally started dropping off the pounds."

2. She Enlisted the Help of Professionals

Huda Beauty Global TourDave Benett/Getty Images

Demi enlisted the health of professionals to get into shape. “I noticed my clothes weren't fitting me anymore and I said to my mum, 'Something needs to change'. So I went to Slimming World (a UK-based weight loss organization) for a couple of weeks,” she continued.

3. She Cut a Few Things Out of Her Diet

"Just cutting out things I was eating a lot of like bread, chocolate and takeaways and I cut all that out. I was mainly eating Weetabix for breakfast and then for lunch rice and chicken or rice and tuna, and then whatever my mum cooks me in the evening, and I wasn't really snacking,” Demi revealed about how she changed her diet.

4. She Started Working Out

Woman,Exercise,Workout,In,Gym,Fitness,Breaking,Relax,Holding,AppleShutterstock

Just by changing her diet she lost 28 pounds. “Then I got scouted for Love Island, but I was scouted very last minute. I only had six weeks notice. So I went to the gym every single day. I was probably unhealthily maintaining a gym routine but it wasn't really for me, and then in the space of about four or five weeks before Love Island I lost another stone," she continued.

5. She Did It Over a Long Period of Time

Demi doesn’t believe in crash diets. "Personally, for me I can't do these quick diets and lose weight within a month. I need to do it over a long period of time and it needs to drill into your lifestyle in order to be maintained or else you're going to put it back on," she said.

Taylor Hill, the supermodel and former Victoria's Secret Angel, is no stranger to being in front of the camera. That’s one reason why she’s so good at social media. She has almost 19 million Instagram followers, who come to see her latest looks; accordingly, she shared her latest swimsuit scenes from Zara Swim. “Stunning Lady,” said Emily in Paris star Lily Collins. “Tay so beautiful❤️❤️” commented fellow model Elsa Hosk. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Taylor Hill stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Does Group Fitness Classes

Hill has gone to ModelFit, which did full-body group fitness classes. "We do a lot of slow, muscle-targeting movements with gliding discs and two-pound weights. Almost kind of floor Pilates in a way because we get on the floor, and she puts resistance bands around my ankles and things like that. It's so hard—it doesn't sound hard, and it doesn't look hard, but I could back squat, like, 85 pounds, and I quiver when I do this. I'm like, Oh my God, I can't stand up anymore because I'm so sore! It's amazing," she told Byrdie.

2. She Tried Strength Training

"I used to do a lot of weight training, lifting, and things like that," she says. "It was really difficult, which I liked, but then I realized I wasn't getting the results that I wanted. You have to drink gnarly protein shakes and all of that to build that muscle, especially when you're as tall as me. I'm like; I can't develop muscle; it's just not working!” she told Byrdie.

3. She Used to Bulk Up Before a Show

Off-White : Front Row - Paris Fashion Week - Womenswear F/W 2022-2023Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images

“I eat 3,000 calories a day before the VS show. Three thousand!” she told The Sunday Times back when she was modeling for Victoria’s Secret. “There’s no way you look like that and don’t eat. You would die. Victoria’s Secret girls are like athletes. We’re like Olympians. We’re strong.” She added: “I just love being me.”

4. She Cares for Her Skin

Moschino - Backstage - Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2022/2023Vittorio Zunino Celotto/Getty Images

“I just keep it really easy, and I use really clean products without a lot of chemicals in them. I use a very simple face wash called CeraVe. It’s for [removing] makeup that causes acne. And then I use coconut oil for hydration. It’s the best! Hair, skin and nails,” she once told Coveteur. “When I’m not working, I literally don’t have a beauty routine. I try to just roll natural, because, you know, I work everyday and put makeup on like crazy everyday. I think on my days off, it’s really nice to just give my skin a break and just hang out; put my hair in a knot and just walk around.” Consuming coconut oil can be good, as well. “It's the quality of your cholesterol that matters, and coconut oil actually increases the good cholesterol, HDL. It increases the LDL, but it makes the particles better so they're not as damaging,” says Dr. Mark Hyman to the Mayo Clinic.

5. This Was Her Diet in NYC During the Victoria’s Secret Years

Armani "One Night Only" - Front RowCedric Ribeiro/Getty Images

"I drink protein shakes, eat a lot of chicken, and try to make more home-cooked meals. It's really hard in New York because everything is so small. My kitchen is tiny, but it's nice because it forces me to learn something new every day and not cook the same things over and over. Snack-wise, I like dark chocolate just because it's something sweet and it makes me feel like I'm eating what I want," she told Allure. Dark chocolate is a healthy choice. "Flavanols are a type of flavonoid that’s found in plants such as the cacao tree. These trees produce the cacao beans used to make chocolate," says the Cleveland Clinic. “Flavanols are abundant in cacao beans,” says dietitian Devon Peart, MHSc, BASc, RD. “The cacao beans are fermented and roasted, producing what we call cocoa beans. We make cocoa solids from those" and dark chocolate "contains two to three times more flavanol-rich cocoa solids as compared to milk chocolate,” Peart adds. “It’s significantly higher.”

In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Pilates

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.

But this past season it was just hard being so far away from my normal routine and where I typically live."

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

Culpo makes sure to eat healthy. She shared some of the snacks she packs with her with Travel + Leisure. "I love the Kind bars. I love any sort of nuts, to be honest with you. They are a go-to snack for me. I would say Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and some almonds would be perfect! Also, electrolytes to stay hydrated or some sort of collagen beauty powder or something."
