The Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson is showing followers exactly what her workouts look like—and sharing all her favorite gym outfits. The reality star posted a video montage of herself wearing her favorite Hoka sneakers and exercise outfits, using strength training equipment at the gym. “Happy Saturday Friends and Haters! What are you doing this weekend to stay healthy, strong and feeling good about yourself? I want to know your plans! 💪🏻💪🏻 What’s your favorite glute exercise?” she captioned the post. Here’s how Simpson transformed her fitness and health at 47.

1. Ozempic For a Month

Calorie,Diet,Centimeter,Tape,Beautiful,WomanShutterstock

Simpson says she was put on Ozempic after a doctor told her she was prediabetic. “So I did. I did that in December,” she told Jeff Lewis on his SiriusXM show Jeff Lewis Live. “For one month, and you know, that was a great kickstart for me… I didn’t like the way it made me feel lethargic and it made me just not have a lot of energy, which was hard with three little kids. But it does make you feel full […] it was like a refresh.”

2. Eating the Same Meals

Simpson has turned her diet around by focusing on her protein intake. "I struggled with ‘mindless eating.’ I honestly never paid much attention to what I ate and I never planned meals,” Simpson told a fan on instagram. “I would eat mindlessly all day and then think I never ate anything. [Now] I have a protein shake every morning after I work out. For lunch I make two eggs with salsa and vegan cheese with sliced avocado. I eat this almost every day. I found that it’s easier to just find things you like and repeat instead of trying to be creative.”

3. Inspired To Be Better

Emily.SimpsonGetty Images

Simpson was inspired to take better care of herself after seeing a promotional picture from Housewives. “We finished filming in November [2022] and I remember we filmed the title cards and our showrunner sent a photo of me that he took with his cell phone,” she told Us Weekly. “And honestly, I didn’t even recognize myself. I was like, ‘Who is that?’ And then I was like, ‘Oh, that’s me.’ I really neglected myself those four months that we were filming. I ate too much, drank too much, didn’t go to the gym, didn’t work out and I felt really down, really depressed, really dark when we finished filming.”

4. New Healthy Habits

Simpson says Ozempic helped her to develop better habits. “I cut out a lot of things and I go to the gym seven days a week and work out,” she told Us Weekly. “I work out like I’m training for a fitness competition. That’s kind of the whole story. The thing that bothers me the most is that when people comment on the way that I look, they constantly say, ‘Ozempic, Ozempic.’ And it’s like, yes, I did use that nine months ago or however many months ago it was, but I don’t like that it discounts all the hard work I put in. I don’t care if you say that all you want, but at least gimme credit for seven days a week, getting up at 6 a.m. every morning and busting my butt in the gym every single day.”

5. Cardio and Strength Training

Simpson combines cardio and strength training several times a week. “I’ve always worked out (except while filming [Season 16] I didn’t work out once and I’ll never do that again),” she told a fan during an Instagram Q&A. “I used to work out 3-4 times a week. I walked a lot. Mostly lifted light weights. Now I work out 6-7 times a week. I always start with 20-30 [minutes] of cardio on the elliptical (level 10) and then about an hour of weight lifting.”

Meagan Good is dressed to sweat and showing off her flawless figure. In a new social media post the actress flaunts her washboard abs in a matching crop top and leggings as she heads into a workout session. “Sᴜɴᴅᴀʏ‘ȥ ..☕️ 🏃🏾♀️,” she captioned the series of Instagram photos. “Daaaamn she fine! 😍 you are Pure Love & Inspiration,” one of her followers commented. “You look incredible seester,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Works Out 3 to 4 Hours Per Week

Meagan invests a good amount of time in her body every week. “I work with my trainer Augustina about four to five times a week for 45 minutes a day,” she told Black Doctor. “We start out on the treadmill and then we do a lot of exercises using my own body weight. My favorite workouts are anything having to do with making my waistline trimmer and toned. My least favorite is any type of pushup! Everybody wants lightning in a bottle, and while healthy things in a bottle do help, you have to do the work to get the results you really want.”

She Pays Attention to Protein Intake and Portion Sizes

When it comes to diet, the star puts her focus on consuming enough protein and keeping her portions in check. “I try to eat healthy. In the morning, I have a protein shake. In the afternoon I eat mostly whatever I want, I just try to modify it to a healthier choice and a smaller portion—since I still have time to be active if I’m a little bad. In the evening, I stick to baked chicken and veggies,” she dished to Black Doctor. “I think some of the best ways to stay healthy when you have a busy life and career are protein shakes, lots of…… vitamins.”

She Prioritizes Hydration

In addition to rest and beauty products, “water” is one of Meagan’s top “beauty secrets,” she told Black Doctor. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

She Believes in God

Praying,Hands,With,Faith,In,Religion,And,Belief,In,GodShutterstock

Meagan keeps herself grounded with religion. “Before I go to the gym, I read my Bible, say some affirmations, and listen to some gospel music or something that will help get me in a positive zone to set my intention for the day. The routine starts even before I hit the gym because if I'm already in the right frame of mind, topping it off with a workout makes me feel unstoppable,” she told Byrdie.

And, She Indulges in Self-Care

“I just turned 40, and I've been in many amazing transitions mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I've been valuing time with myself, whether that's journaling, praying, reading, or going to the gym, but it doesn't have to be the same every day. The beauty of caring for yourself is finding freedom. It's your day, and you can do what you want to do to feel present. Sometimes I stay in and cook; other times, I order takeout. I might binge-watch a TV show on a self-care day,” she told Byrdie.

1. She Lost 30 Pounds

Emily has been very open with her weight struggles. In a November 2020 Instagram post she shared a before-and-after photo of herself after losing 30 pounds. “I never wanted to show these photos publicly because Im ashamed of where I let myself get, but here I am showing my transformation because I want to be transparent with you all. I worked my butt off to get here and Im so proud of how far Ive come and continue to go! I lost myself and my confidence through gaining 30 lbs. in one year in front of millions of people on a Reality TV Show. Here I am a year and a half later feeling sexy, confident in my own skin, and like the EMILY I am meant to be!” she wrote.

2. She Hired a Trainer

The first thing Emily did to lose the weight was hire a personal trainer, Paulina Taylor Hefferan, who she works out with at 6 a.m. three days per week. "Sometimes we become too overwhelmed with life, kids, depression, weight gain, hormones, relationships, illness etc ... but you have to start somewhere. Make today that day. A year from now will pass by regardless. Might as well make it your healthiest yet,” she captioned this Instagram post. "I have more work to do to get to my ultimate goal. "But I’m enjoying the journey and relishing in the successes."

3. She Doesn’t Weigh Herself

While she did admit to losing a lot of weight, Emily has revealed that she tries not to pay attention to the number of the scale. “Not only have I lost significant body fat and several inches, but I’ve gained a new found acceptance of my body. I don’t weigh myself very often because the number on the scale doesn’t define me as a person nor is it wholly indicative of progress. I measure my progress and Heath by other methods of measurement such as endurance, strength, how many times I can walk up the Salt Creek Hill in one day and how I look in my clothes. I’ve changed physically but most importantly I’ve changed mentally. I’ve learned that weight loss doesn’t have to be all in or nothing, you just have to do 1 thing better than the day before. The key to long term results is consistency and having someone in your corner cheering you on!” she revealed in this Instagram post.

4. She Drinks Water and Doesn’t Eat Past 6

Emily revealed her "best trick to help with losing weight” during an Ask Me Anything thread on Instagram. "[Don't] eat past 6 pm and drink lots of water," she said. "Try it for a week. You'll see a difference!"

5. She Doesn’t Count Calories

She also revealed in an Instagram Story (per Bravo) that there’s another number she doesn’t pay attention to. "I don't count calories...that's too much work for me. I just keep staples in my refrigerator at all times: ground turkey, spinach/lettuce, eggs, avocados, tomatoes, shredded carrots, black beans, corn tortillas, salsa [,] vegan cheese (I avoid dairy)...etc."

Read on to see 5 ways Whitney Simmons stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Isn’t Focusing On Her Weight

In this Instagram post, Simmons talked about how she is no longer focusing on her weight. “GAINING WEIGHT IS NOT ALWAYS A BAD THING,” she wrote in the caption. “I finally, after years of hard work to overcome my mental illnesses, feel my strongest again both mentally and physically. I’ve worked hard to continue to push weight out of the desire to simply feel strong again, not to chase a certain body type. With this has brought a lot of negative criticism about my body and assumptions being made. Thank you for sticking beside me through this journey. To have your support through it all has left me with so much gratitude for you, I’ll never be able to properly express it.”

2. She Works Her Legs

Simmons shares a lot of her workouts for specific body parts on her Instagram. In this post, she shared her lower body workout. “LEGS GET ITTTT 🩵🎧🤸💦👟 ALRIGHT my angels let me walk you through this HOT FIRE GLUTE workout coming at you from my Legs Get It @thealiveapp program 🤪1️⃣ 4x10 kas glute bridge. 2️⃣ 3x8 barbell rdl. 3️⃣ 3x8 step ups swap machine for bench/box + db. 4️⃣ 3x12 glute med cable kickback.”

5. She Weight Trains

As you can see in a lot of her Instagram posts, Simmons does a lot of weight training. The Mayo Clinic states that using weights has a lot of benefits. “By stressing your bones, strength training can increase bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories.”

Whitney Simmons, a popular fitness influencer, consistently shares her wellness journey with her millions of followers. Known for her dedication to mental and physical health, she regularly posts workout routines, tips for managing her autoimmune condition, and the importance of gratitude. Recently, Simmons shared a back and bicep workout on Instagram, offering tips like "elbows have to stay pinched to your side" when doing bicep curls. Beyond the gym, she’s open about her struggles with psoriasis and how she's embraced confidence over time. From mixing up her workouts to trying new fitness approaches like Pilates, Simmons is an inspiration to her followers, showing that wellness is a combination of fitness, mental health, and self-care. Here's a look into her approach.

1. She Lifts Weights

Simmons showed off a recent workout that targeted her back and biceps while wearing cute brown camo workout pants, a white tube top, and white sneakers. When doing bicep curls, she explained that “elbows have to “stay pinched to your side,” and palms should face the sky. Another tip the trainer gave was to drive your elbow towards your hip, then squeeze your lat at the bottom when doing single-arm cable pulldowns.

2️⃣ 3x10 wide bicep curls

3️⃣ 3x10 single arm cable pulldown

2. She Doesn’t Hide Her Psoriasis

Simmons once felt uncomfortable showing her psoriasis, an autoimmune condition that causes itchy, scaly patches of skin, but now she’s in a more confident place not to feel shame or embarrassment over the condition. “The more severe it got, the more I wanted to cover it,” she told Women’s Health. She worried that showing it would make people uncomfortable. But now, she chooses to be vulnerable. “I have so many women in my DMs who say, ‘I used to cover every inch of my body at the gym, and now I just don’t care. I am going to wear the shorts.’”

3. She’s Grateful

Grateful,Word,Written,On,Wood,Block.,Grateful,Text,On,Table,Shutterstock

Faced with heavy and dark life issues, at one point, Simmons wanted to end her life by driving into a concrete wall. “But “at the very last second, I decided, ‘Not yet,’” she told Women’s Health. A few days later she started therapy and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. She took a long break from social media, and followers began asking what had happened. She shared her story on the Fleurish podcast and then eventually her channels. Therapy and telling her story helped her grow confident, and now Simmions is in a great place. “From seeing nothing beautiful in any day, to now—I am so grateful that I made it through that,” she says. “It is a beautiful day to be alive.”

4. She Mixes Up Her Workouts

Whitney Simmons.4BWhitney Simmons/Instagram

Experts always recommend switching up your gym routine to help prevent hitting a plateau with fitness goals, reduce the risk of injury, and keep workouts fun. Simmons mixes up her workouts and shares with followers exactly what she does to achieve her goals. For leg days, she does the following:

“LEGS GET IT ❤️‍🔥 let me walk you through my glute workout”

1️⃣ 3x10 bb hip thrust

2️⃣ 3x8 bb RDL

3️⃣ 3x8 front rack step up

4️⃣ 3x10 glute med cable kickbacks

In another video, she shared other ways to target your legs and glutes.

5. She Isn’t Afraid to Try New Workouts

Earlier this year, Simmons tried Pilates for the first time. In the video, simply titled “Pilates Princess,” she did a variety of moves and was taken aback by how much she worked her muscles. Are we on the easiest resistance,” she asked her instructor. “This just feels a little too advanced,” she joked. “My belly hurts so bad,” she laughed when doing the ab portion of the workout. When it came time to focus on the lower body, she asked, “Do you see my legs shaking.” She then said, “I don’t think I’ve ever worked my inner thighs like this.”

Rayna Vallandingham is flashing her washboard abs – in a two-piece exercise set from Alo. In a new social media post the actress flaunts her impressive midsection during a workout at the gym. “dojang diaries,” she captioned the series of snaps. “Magnific! Very very beautiful,” commented one of her followers. “♥️More like diaries of a hottie♥️” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are her top lifestyle tips.

Be Consistent

Consistency – at the gym and the martial arts studio – is the key to success. "It is a way of life," Rayna says. "It's not only teaching your body movements and being in synchronicity with your body, but also just like the mental aspect of it."

Fight Your Way to a Hot Body

Rayna is a big fan of martial arts. She has been doing taekwondo since she was 2, earning her first black belt at 6. "In the very beginning, my parents put me in the sport because I was just really shy, and I think they could tell that I needed something," says Vallandingham, who lives and trains in Los Angeles. "Immediately, I just loved it. I felt at home, and every single day, instead of watching Dora, I wanted to go to the dojo,” she told Well + Good. Studies confirm that the practice helps with balance, cognitive function, psychological health, weight loss, and physical fitness.

Work on Strength and Flexibility

Rayna recommends prioritizing strength, flexibility, and power. "Of the three, I think strength and flexibility are the top two," Vallandingham says. "We used to have people stand on my legs and force my knees to come down in butterfly stretch," she says. "I have permanent damage to my body—I have tendonitis [because of this]."

Lift Weights

If you want a strong, lean body like Vallandingham, you must lift for it. The star strength trains, focusing on supersets, doing two moves back-to-back that target the same muscle groups to double down on their gains. One of her favorite exercises is a goblet squat. She stands with her feet shoulder-width apart, folded forward until she can slide her palms underneath her soles (you could also hold your ankles or calves), then bends her knees, lowering her butt toward the floor while lifting her chest, coming into a deep squat. She'll bend and extend her legs several times in this position. Then, it's on to the main event, holding a weight in her hands while bending down into a deep squat. "I love utilizing a Bosu ball—they're pretty much in every single gym," she adds.

Stretch

Rayna never skips stretching. She starts by by lying on the floor with her legs up the wall and then allowing them to open out into a side split. "I let gravity do its work because that's my body telling me, okay, this is where we're at," she says. "My hips are opening on their own, and I'm not having to force anything." “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

Charli Hawkins is training in the snow – in her two-piece workout gear. In a new social media post the Olympian shows off her fantastic figure – including her flat abs – in an exercise set while enjoying the winter weather. “TRAINING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND! ❄️🥶❤️✨Gearing up in this altitude for the LONDON MARATHON this April! I’m so excited to see what my mind and body can make happen! To my marathon runners: it’s your time to shine, PLEASE tell me ALL of your tips, all of your advice, and for all of you who understand what I’m about to attempt, please send your words of encouragement 😂 Also feel free to try to talk me out of this as well thanks👍 We are on the training countdown. Turning a sprinter, jumper, and thrower into a long distance runner 🫣🙌 What do you think my time will be?” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Minfulness and Meditation

Charli practices mindfulness. Before going for a run, she says words of intention. “I am willing. I am grateful. I surrender,” she revealed during an interview with San Diego Magazine. Meditation:

“When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress,” says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality

Stretching

She also makes sure to stretch. “If you ever can think of some dynamic stretches: F.A.S.T. ✨🙌 My left hip and right QLs have been SO tight lately so I’m on a journey of getting them right! What’s bugging you at the moment???” she captioned a post. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

Here Is The Right Way To Run

During her interview with San Diego, Charli explained how you should be running. “Remember, the sole of the foot is showing right in front of us,” she said, doing a type of high-knee movement. “To do this, you’re over exaggerating your running form while standing still. Raise your knee up, point your toes to the clouds (forming an A), and then pedal the sole of your foot forward before striking your knee down. It’s more complicated than it sounds after 30-plus years of moving a certain way,” the writer explained.

Positive Attitude

In a recent post Charli revealed things she learned about positivity. “Patience is easier when it isn’t required,” she said. “The people around you are BLESSINGS (which I feel like I already understood but sometimes it’s nice to have it emphasized).” Also, “We are up, we are down, but trusting the process sometimes means knowing that it’s all good even when it’s not the best” and “Making a plan is the best option for everything. It’s ok if the plan doesn’t go perfect, but just willy-nilly-ing it is not the best option when you want to get things done.”

Never Giving Up

Charli refuses to give up. “Understand what you want first, and then go for it. Then keep going for it all the time, and, eventually, you’ll get it,” she said during her interview.

Giulia Arena first made waves when she won the 2013 Miss Italia pageant. Since then, she’s become a successful actress, TV host, and model. Arena recently took a trip to the Maldives. She shared a set of photos on Instagram of herself at the beach. In them, Arena is seen in a white swimsuit. She captioned the post, “Native habitat.”

Biking

Giulia enjoys cycling. During her trip to the Maldives Giulia went bike riding. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

Reading

Giulia is also a fan of books. In the Maldives, she took some time to relax and read. One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

Snorkeling

Giulia snorkels, recently discovering the “Sea Lung,” she revealed in a post. “It reaches 60cm long with a weight of almost 10kg, and represents the largest medusa of the Mediterranean. I don’t know why, but I have always experienced the charm of Jellyfish: creatures that are essentially simple and yet capable of surviving entire geological epochs floating, light and slow, between the currents. She, remains one of the most beautiful sights of this summer.” Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Coffee

Giulia is a coffee drinker. She especially likes shots of espresso. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Yoga

Giulia is a yogi. Here she is doing yoga. There are many reasons to do yoga, according to Harvard Health. “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” they said. “People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”
