The Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson lost weight, gained muscle, and looks incredible—and she’s still on a roll. Simpson, 48, has a sustainable long-term plan that works for her, and she’s sharing it with her fans or anyone looking to get fit. The reality star shared a video of herself using a lat machine at the gym, wearing black leggings and a matching sports bra.“Lifting weights daily is my favorite way to build confidence, strength, happiness, muscle mass which is anti-aging,” reads the text over her video. Here are Simpson’s top tips for getting fit, healthy, and happy.

1. Daily Weightlifting

Simpson credits weight lifting with transforming her physique and positively impacting her mental health. “For the past 6 months I’ve dedicated myself to improving my physical and mental health,” she captioned an instagram video. “Getting up at 6am is hard. Going to the gym 6-7 days per week is hard. Lifting weights is hard. Daily cardio is hard. Drastically changing my diet is hard…. Depression is hard. Feeling sad and lethargic is hard. Inflammation is hard. A bad diet is hard. CHOOSE your hard.”

2. Early To Bed, Early to Rise

Simpson wakes up early and goes to bed early, which research shows is the ideal way to align your body with a natural circadian rhythm. “I emphasize sleep regularity with patients. I see it as the foundation for aligning biological rhythms and building healthy habits,” David Brendel, MD, PhD, tells Nike.com. “If you have a good sleep schedule, it will be easier to build those habits, and if you have those habits, you’ll be more likely to build a sleep schedule.”

3. Lots of Protein

Simpson makes sure she is getting plenty of protein to fuel her workouts. “The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for protein is only 0.8 grams per kilogram of body weight, but this is a recommendation for the general (sedentary) population and should be considered a minimum,” Ellen Landes, RDN, tells Peloton The Output. “Active people need more than this, especially if the goal is to build muscle.”

4. Home-Cooked Meals

Simpson eats at home as much as possible to take control of her diet and nutrition. “When people cook most of their meals at home, they consume fewer carbohydrates, less sugar and less fat than those who cook less or not at all – even if they are not trying to lose weight,” Julia A. Wolfson, MPP, tells Johns Hopkins. “The evidence shows people who cook at home eat a more healthy diet.”

5. Consistency Is Key

Simpson says consistency is the crucial element to her success. “For me, Consistency and Repetition are the key 🔑 to making lifestyle changes,” she captioned a video. “I get up at the same time, eat the same things, repeat a lot of the same workouts (but consistently add weight). Committing to a routine has helped me build a strong, healthy body. What works for you?!”

The Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson is poking fun at criticism she gets for using Ozempic to kickstart her weight loss. Simpson, 48, shared a video of herself wearing black leggings and a matching sports bra, dancing in her living room. “Just over here livin’ my best life ❤️❤️,” she captioned the upbeat video, encouraging others to be positive and kind in the comments. Here’s how Simpson continues to thrive in her 40s.

1. Weights In the Bedroom

Simpson keeps weights in her bedroom so she’s always ready for a workout. “I keep a set of free weights and a kettlebell next to my bed… if you have time to watch Netflix, you have time to get in shape 🙌12-15 reps per exercise, three rounds. The kettlebell is 15 pounds, the free weights are 12 pounds. These three full body exercises are easy to do and are a great way to build muscle, tone up and they are good cardio. Three rounds of these and your heart rate will be way up. Do you prefer to work out at home, or at the gym?” she captioned an Instagram post.

2. Barbell At the Gym

Simpson uses a barbell when she works out at the gym. “Good Morning Friends and Haters! ❤️🙌 What do you think?! Workout skirts at the gym? 🤔 I say wear whatever you want as long as you’re there putting in the work who cares!” she captioned an Instagram post of herself working out in a white skirt and matching sports bra.

3. Consistency and Repetition

Simpson swears by consistency and repetition over motivation to build excellent habits. “I get up at the same time, eat the same things, repeat a lot of the same workouts (but consistently add weight). Committing to a routine has helped me build a strong, healthy body. What works for you?!” she captioned a video of herself using strength training equipment at the gym.

4. Movement Is Therapy

Simpson lifts weights at least three times a week, for benefits that go beyond the physical. “Lifting weights for me has been transformative, both physically and mentally. There’s something about lifting things that are heavy that heals your body and mind. It’s my own personal therapy 💪🏻,” she captioned an Instagram post.

5. Healthy Home Cooking

Simpson cooks at home as much as possible these days. “The biggest change I’ve made in this health journey is rewiring my brain to eat MOST meals at home… I’m not the greatest cook 🤷‍♀️ and I don’t have a lot of time so this is one of my favorite easy breezy dinners that I eat a couple times a week… Lots of protein and healthy carbs from the sweet potato, it’s quick, tasty and there’s no mixing or measuring! And I don’t count calories or macros so don’t ask what the calorie count is or how many Macros this meal has 💁‍♀️,” she captioned an Instagram post.

Emily Simpson is heating up the friendly seas – in her swimsuit. In one of her latest social media posts, shared from the ocean, the Real Housewives of Orange County bombshell shows off her incredible body in a bathing suit. The reality star is currently living her best life on a Royal Caribbean cruise with her family. How does the 47-year-old attorney stay in shape? Keep reading for her top weight loss tips.

1. Transform Your Life by Losing Weight

Emily struggled with her weight for most of her life, sharing a before-and-after photo in a November 2020 Instagram post after losing 30 pounds. “I never wanted to show these photos publicly because Im ashamed of where I let myself get, but here I am showing my transformation because I want to be transparent with you all. I worked my butt off to get here and Im so proud of how far Ive come and continue to go! I lost myself and my confidence through gaining 30 lbs. in one year in front of millions of people on a Reality TV Show. Here I am a year and a half later feeling sexy, confident in my own skin, and like the EMILY I am meant to be!” she wrote.

2. Work Out with a Trainer

Emily enlisted the help of personal trainer, Paulina Taylor Hefferan to achieve her weight loss goals. They work out with at 6 a.m. three days per week. "Sometimes we become too overwhelmed with life, kids, depression, weight gain, hormones, relationships, illness etc ... but you have to start somewhere. Make today that day. A year from now will pass by regardless. Might as well make it your healthiest yet,” she captioned this Instagram post. "I have more work to do to get to my ultimate goal. "But I’m enjoying the journey and relishing in the successes."

3. Avoid the Scale

Emily has advice: Stay away from the scale. “Not only have I lost significant body fat and several inches, but I’ve gained a new found acceptance of my body. I don’t weigh myself very often because the number on the scale doesn’t define me as a person nor is it wholly indicative of progress. I measure my progress and Heath by other methods of measurement such as endurance, strength, how many times I can walk up the Salt Creek Hill in one day and how I look in my clothes. I’ve changed physically but most importantly I’ve changed mentally. I’ve learned that weight loss doesn’t have to be all in or nothing, you just have to do 1 thing better than the day before. The key to long term results is consistency and having someone in your corner cheering you on!” she revealed in this Instagram post.

4. Drink Water and Don’t Eat Past 6

Emily also revealed in an Instagram Story (per Bravo) that there’s another number she doesn’t pay attention to. "I don't count calories...that's too much work for me. I just keep staples in my refrigerator at all times: ground turkey, spinach/lettuce, eggs, avocados, tomatoes, shredded carrots, black beans, corn tortillas, salsa [,] vegan cheese (I avoid dairy)...etc."

Working out and eating right are only part of the equation to weight loss, per actress Rebel Wilson, who lost a whopping 60 pounds in less than a year. While she majorly revamped her diet and embarked on a fitness routine, it was the work she did on the instead that helped her achieve her goals. "I think because I approached it from all areas ... the biggest thing that I haven't ever worked on was the emotional side, what I suffered from, I guess, as classical emotional eating … so I really worked on that side," she told Extra.

5. Rita Ora: Focus On Strength, Not Weight Loss

Instead of trying to lose weight or get to a certain clothing size, Rita Ora suggests putting your focus on getting stronger. "I didn't start working out to get skinnier—I started working out to feel better. And I think it's important for women to know that,” she told Shape. “Don't be obsessed with being thin. You just have to be fit, healthy, and strong," she said. "I love my shape because it's curvy. I have thighs. I'm a size 28 in jeans. And that's an average, normal size. I'm proud that I'm normal."

I've been doing that since April and I've noticed enormous changes in my body."

He started off by setting her goal at 6,000 steps and then eventually upping it to 14,000. "It had to be more than just getting back from her baby weight, but how do I keep whatever I am doing now forever. That's why we are not a big fan of doing any extreme diet or radical forms of exercise,” he told E! about the weight loss strategy he developed for the star, which also included healthy eating, sleep, and full body workouts. “Woke up before all 3 kiddos to get my steps in and spend time with me, myself, and I. Move move move for your own mental health,” she captioned a 2020 Instagram post.

8. Halle Berry: You Have to Commit

FOX's The Masked Singer - Season FiveGetty Images

"Don't deprive yourself of anything because eventually you'll crave it and then you might binge on it. Everything in moderation," Nicole Scherzinger told Women's Health UK about her dietary rule. "For breakfast I love eggs and toast and smoked salmon or bacon, or porridge. For lunch I like maybe some soup or some sushi. For dinner, anything from pasta to rice, and meats and veggies, to sushi. When I'm going to indulge, I love pasta, pizza, I love Mexican with lots of cheese. I love French fries, or crisps – salt and vinegar crisps. In terms of snacks: almonds, coconut water, bits of coconut, baby carrots."

10. Gabrielle Union: Don’t Commit to One Workout Only

2021 Billboard Music Awards - BackstageGetty Images

Gabrielle Union allows her workout routine to evolve. "As the workout phases come and go, I'll try everything," she previously told Women's Health. "Nothing, not one thing, has stuck. I've tried kickboxing, cardio barre, I've tried a SoulCycle class...I'm not a class person." In a 2019 Instagram post, she also revealed that her motivations for exercise are also evolving. “There are times I workout for a job or specific athletic goals but usually I workout to maintain my peace. Sometimes i grunt, grimace, scream...many times I've cried while training. I've cried due to frustration. I've cried from physical pain. Many times I've cried as my fears and anxiety leave my body. For me, I'm always working out my spirit and exercising my soul. This morning felt like the end of a week of taking Ls, but today I got up and reminded myself that even when I lose, I win because I'm committed to learning and evolving,” she wrote.

Adding a playful pun to her caption, she wrote, “Never tyre’d of a good beach workout.”
So, how does she stay in such incredible shape? From strength training to boxing, here’s a look at her go-to fitness moves.

She Strength Trains

In her Instagram post, Sharvari is seen doing a strength training exercise. The Mayo Clinic says that strength training has a lot of benefits. “Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories. Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age.”

She Does Yoga

Sharvari shares a lot of her favorite workouts on Instagram. One thing she likes to do is yoga. Sharvari posted this video of herself doing poses on her page. John Hopkins Medicine states that yoga is very beneficial. “Regular yoga practice may reduce levels of stress and body-wide inflammation, contributing to healthier hearts. Several of the factors contributing to heart disease, including high blood pressure and excess weight, can also be addressed through yoga.”

She Plays Padel

Sharvari likes to play padel to keep herself in shape. She shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself on the court. Playing padel has a lot of health benefits. Everybody Health & Leisure says, “It improves cardiovascular fitness, helps to build strength and endurance, enhances coordination and promotes overall physical and mental well-being. Not to mention, it’s a fantastic way to burn calories.”

She Boxes

Another thing that Sharvari does to keep herself in shape is box. She first picked this up when training for the film, Vedaa. She shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself punching a bag. Sharvari captioned the post, “BEAST MODE on for Vedaa! ⚠️☠️🥊 Took up boxing to become Vedaa... Now I am ready to pack a punch or be strong enough to take a brutal beating 💪#Vedaa coming to a theatre near you on August 15th.”

She Runs

Sharvari likes to run to keep herself in shape. She shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself running on the beach. She captioned the post, “Decided to seas the day!” Better Health says that running is very beneficial. “Regular running or jogging offers many health benefits. Running can: help to build strong bones, as it is a weight bearing exercise, strengthen muscles, improve cardiovascular fitness, burn plenty of kilojoules, help maintain a healthy weight.”

Natasa Stankovic in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Wednesday Challenge"

Stankovic shares her go-to workout moves, from squats to lunges, cardio, Pilates, and strength training.

Natasa Stankovic isn’t just a content creator—she’s a fitness inspiration. Known for sharing intense workout sessions on Instagram, she keeps her followers motivated with creative exercise challenges and dynamic routines.

In her latest post, Stankovic teamed up with Aleksandar Illic for a lower body blast, pushing through variations of squats and lunges. Dressed in a sleek two-piece workout set, she captioned the session, “Wednesday challenge,” proving that fitness is all about consistency and fun.

So, how does she maintain her lean, strong physique? From strength training to Pilates, here’s a look at Stankovic’s go-to workout moves.

She Does Squats

Stankovic does squats to keep herself in shape, as you can see in her Instagram video. Piedmont says that this exercise has a lot of health benefits. “Whether you’re hoping to tone your muscles, strengthen your core or just improve overall health, squats are one of the best exercises you can do. Although the movements appear relatively simple, squats can take time to master. Joel Hardwick, ACSM EP-C, EIM2, an exercise physiologist at Piedmont Atlanta Fitness Center, says practice will pay off…Hardwick explains that squats are a compound, multi-joint movement, which means they exercise several muscle groups. When you perform a squat, you work your calves, quads, hamstrings, glutes, core and part of your back.”

She Does Lunges

Stankovic is also seen doing lunges in her Instagram video. The Mayo Clinic reports that lunges are very beneficial to do. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles. The lunge is a great conditioning exercise for many sports, especially those that involve lunging movements, such as tennis, basketball or soccer.”

She Does Cardio

Stankovic likes to do cardio workouts to keep herself in shape. She shared this video of herself doing fast box jumps in different directions on Instagram. Stankovic captioned it, “Morning cardio challenge.” Cardio exercises have a lot of benefits. The Cleveland Clinic says, “When you work your heart and other muscles of your body during cardio exercise, this increases oxygen supply to your whole body, allowing all muscles to work harder and more efficiently. Over time, regular cardio exercise allows your muscles to adapt to an increased workload, making regular activities seem easier.”

She Does Pilates

Stankovic shares a lot of her favorite workouts in an Instagram story highlight. In some of the stories, she is seen doing Pilates exercises on a reformer. Pilates is very beneficial. The Cleveland Clinic says, “One of the reasons Pilates is such a good workout is that it specifically focuses on building core strength.”

She Strength Trains

Stankovic likes to strength train to keep herself in shape. She shared this Instagram story of herself using dumbbells. ACE Fitness says that strength training and using weights has a lot of health benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

So what’s in her routine? From deadlifts to hip thrusts, here’s how French sculpts her powerhouse physique.

She Does Deadlifts

French is seen doing deadlifts in her Instagram post. This exercise has a lot of benefits. NASM says, “A Romanian deadlift is a hip-hinge pattern that works the hamstrings and glutes. It is a form of deadlift with noticeably less bend in the knee, leading to greater hamstring engagement than traditional deadlifts. The move was introduced to the masses in the 90s by Romanian weightlifter Nicu Vlad (an Olympic and World Weightlifting champion) and his coach Dragomir Cioroslan. The two invented the move to help Nicu strengthen his back for the clean and jerk. Today, RDLs are commonly used to strengthen the posterior chain, using the core muscles to stabilize and the hamstrings and glutes to drive the movement.”

She Does Lunges

Another exercise that French is seen doing in her Instagram post is lunges. NASM says that they are very beneficial. “The lunge is a versatile, simple and effective movement for lower body training. Various positions, planes of motion and speeds can all yield different training adaptations for the exerciser. Lunges are the gift that keeps on giving!”

She Does Squats

French is seen doing squats in her Instagram video. According to The Cleveland Clinic, squats are very beneficial. “Here’s a quick look at the many benefits of squats, also known as bodyweight squats or air squats: Works major muscle groups. Burns calories. Strengthens your core. Improves lower body strength. Enhances stability and balance. Betters your posture.”

She Does Hamstring Curls

French is seen doing hamstring curls in her Instagram post. According to The Mayo Clinic, hamstring curls are very beneficial. “The seated hamstring curl is an exercise you can do with a weight machine to work the muscles in the back of the thigh. As the name implies, the seated hamstring curl targets the hamstring muscles here in the back of the thigh. Strong hamstring muscles help to protect your ligaments in the knee.”

She Does Hip Thrusts

French shared this video on Instagram of herself doing hip thrusts. She captioned it, “Hip Thrusts are no doubt one of the best exercises for building your Glutes but of course with any exercise, the form has to be correct for you to see the maximum benefits…✖️ Feet too far forwards will engage your hamstrings more ✖️ Feet too close to you will engage your quads more ✔️ Feet placed so your calves are vertical will engage your glutes more.”
