This Is Her Definition of Happiness

"Being content where you are in life-not based on how much money or success you have. Just loving your life for what it is. Appreciating the little things-smiling and laughing with your pets, friends, and family. Just gratitude for the good cards you've been dealt," Kate responded when asked about her definition of happiness.

She Does Goat Yoga

Kat is a fan of yoga – goat yoga that is! There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," they said. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."

She Hikes

Kat enjoys getting outside and going for a hike. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.

She Has Healthy Hobbies

While Kate feels "the anxiety and pressure" of her career, she counteracts it with healthy habits. "I think it's important to have a strong life outside of this career. Have friends, family, pets, hobbies that you love. Give yourself things to look forward to. I love watching basketball so when I have an important audition or a long day on set, I get myself excited to make dinner and watch the game with family later on that day. You have to have a life outside of this. Your mind, body, and soul need it!" she told Viewties.
