1. She Loves Eggs

Bouchard shared some of her fitness and health secrets with SELF. She says that she loves to cook eggs in the morning. “I’m not a cooking person, so there’s not much in the fridge. On the rare occasion that I do cook, I make myself breakfast. Eggs are my go-to in the morning for some protein. Orange juice as well. You have to start your day off with that.”

2. She Swims

Bouchard loves to swim to keep herself in shape. She tells SELF that she swims as a way to help her recover. “I love going to the beach and swimming in the ocean. I think it’s so relaxing. It’s also a great form of active recovery. It’s perfect for those rest days when you still want to move a little bit.” The Cleveland Clinic states that swimming has a lot of health benefits. “We’re not saying that swimming is easy (far from it!), but swimming takes much less of a toll on your body than, say, running or riding a bike. That’s because exercising in water lessens the impact of your body weight on your joints.”

3. She Stays Positive

Bouchard shared how she stays positive in her interview with SELF. “I always try to remind myself that things can happen when you least expect them to. You just have to keep working hard and suddenly things will click. That’s the experience that I’ve had in my career. I trust that if I’m doing the right things and I’m on the right path, even if times are tough, eventually I’ll reach my goal.”

4. She Skis

Bouchard loves to ski to keep herself in shape. She shared this video of herself on the slopes in Aspen on Instagram. Bouchard captioned the post, “For my birthday this year, I wanted to learn how to ski!” She also shared these photos and videos on Instagram of herself on the same trip. Bouchard captioned the post, “First day (ever!!!) on the slopes!”

5. She Lifts Weights

Bouchard shares a lot of her favorite workouts on Instagram. One thing she likes to do is lift weights. In this video, she is seen doing tricep curls, pulldowns, and pulley rows. ACE Fitness states that lifting weights has a lot of benefits. “Lifting heavy weights increases production of the hormone IGF-1. This hormone is related to the production of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which is a neurotransmitter responsible for stimulating the growth of new neural pathways in the brain along with enhancing communication between existing pathways. In short, lifting heavy could make you smarter by enhancing cognitive function.”

It means so much to me 🥹❤️Many of you were asking, ‘What’s next?’ Volleyball has given me so much and continues to bring joy to my life, so I definitely plan to stay connected to the sport. I will continue to manage my consultancy, Next LVL Consulting, which supports young volleyball athletes looking to play in university. I will also maintain my online channels that I started during the pandemic, as those communities mean so much to me. I am hoping to pursue a career in sports media and broadcasting in order to share my knowledge and insights about the game as a host or analyst. I have taken the first steps in doing that with my new podcast, @volleytalk_podcast so be sure to check it out! You will definitely continue to see me around the volleyball world, just in a different way than we are used to 😊”
