Gisele Bündchen In Workout Gear Is "Reconnecting With the Essentials"

Here are her health and wellness tips.

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen is taking a moment to slow down and appreciate the important things in life. Bündchen, 43, shared a picture of herself wearing a white t-shirt and gray leggings, enjoying some quiet mindfulness while perched on a rock against a beautiful hilly background. "Reconnecting with the essentials," she captioned the post. "You give me inspiration to learn how to relax and enjoy the world around us," a friend commented. Here's what Bündchen's health and wellness regimen looks like.

1

She Loves Jiu-Jitsu

Bündchen is passionate about jiu-jitsu. "Here I think, 'Oh, I'm going to just learn self-defense because I want to make sure my kids can protect themselves when they're out in the world,' but then I learned with the brothers the philosophy and the lifestyle, the whole value system, which was amazing," she told Harper's Bazaar. "It was almost everything I lived in my life, the way I believed in courage and honesty and all the things I found to be important in my value system and have been guiding me in my life. They were never organized, and now they have a container."

Bündchen's Cookbook

Bündchen is passionate about food, which is why she wrote Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body & Feed Your Soul.  The model used to be vegan, but now eats minimal amounts of carefully sourced meat. "I can offer some things I've learned and that have helped me and my family," she told Harper's Bazaar. "I'm just a mom who has a very busy life, and I think a lot of women can relate to that."

3

Meditation Every Day

Bündchen starts her day with meditation. "Once you wake up, have a moment to just sit in silence and meditate. And if you don't want to meditate, just kind of take some deep breaths and get into your body, ground [yourself], if you can do a little meditation that [is] amazing," she told Sports Illustrated Lifestyle. "I think that just sets my day. Like if I have that moment [of peace], I almost feel like I can always go back to it. When things get really hectic outside, I can go back to my center really quickly, I can plug in back to that feeling."

4

Outdoorsy Type

Bündchen is happiness in nature. "I grew up in a small town in the countryside of Brazil, and I have always loved being surrounded by nature," she told Origin Magazine. "Nature is where I feel most comfortable; it's where I find my balance. I would like my kids and all future generations to have the chance to experience nature as I did."

5

It Takes Discipline

Bündchen knows she is privileged to have access to good nutritious food, and to have time to meditate. "It takes discipline to meditate, to exercise," she told Harper's Bazaar. "You're the one who is going to reap the benefits. But still, it takes a bigger effort. But food is a necessity."
