Heather Graham Wows in Stylish Swim Outfit at Mediterranean Film Festival

“Went to the @mediterranefilmfestival and got to see beautiful Malta! 🇲🇹 🥰🙏🏻,” she said.

Heather Graham is looking half her age – in a swimsuit. In a recent social media post the Boogie Nights star shows off her age-defying body in a white bikini as she poses on a yacht. "Went to the @mediterranefilmfestival and got to see beautiful Malta! 🇲🇹 🥰🙏🏻," she captioned the Instagram photo. "Beautiful! You never age!" commented one of her followers. "Gorgeous as ever 😍 🔥🔥🔥," added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1

Meditation

Heather takes care of her mind with transcendental meditation. "I'm kinda high-strung, so it's easy to get anxious. But TM calms you down. It helps you find that peaceful place inside yourself – so whenever your life is going a bit crazy, it reminds you how to be really centered," she told Today. "When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress," says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality

Yoga

Heather relies on intense – and long – yoga sessions to stay in shape. "I'm obsessed with yoga. For fun, I would go on a yoga retreat and do four hours of yoga a day," she told Refinery29. Why should you incorporate yoga into your routine? "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," says Harvard Health. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."

Pilates and Dancing

Graham infuses fitness into her night light. She might hit a Pilates studio instead of a bar. "I also like going out dancing," she told Refinery. Why is pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic there are lots of benefits to the workout, as it "strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health. It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

4

She Prioritizes Sleep

"I love sleeping," Heather confessed to The Guardian. "When I tell people how much I sleep sometimes, they are horrified. I basically sleep between nine and 12 hours a night." The Sleep Foundation explains that getting enough z's is a mood booster, promotes heart health, regulates blood sugar, improves mental function, restores your immune system, helps relieve stress, and aids in weight loss.

6

Walking

Heather loves walking on the beach.

5

No Alcohol or Complex Carbs

Graham doesn't drink alcohol. "Recently, I've stopped drinking," she told The Independent. "I'm kind of goofy enough to have fun without drinking. So by the time everyone gets relaxed, I'm like, 'OK, I was already there two hours ago.'" She also avoids complex carbohydrates. "I've become one of those annoying people who's like, 'I'm not gonna eat white flour and I'm not gonna eat sugar.' I do eat sugar sometimes, but as a broad rule, I try to just eat no sugar basically, and I have to say I feel a lot better. And I will sometimes eat things with white flour, but I try to avoid white flour," she explained to Refinery29.
