Here’s How Margot Robbie Looked Amazing For Barbie

Margot Robbie is one of the most iconic actresses of all time. She’s played roles like Harley Quinn in the DC Cinematic Universe, Tonya Harding in I, Tonya, and most recently, Barbie in Barbie. In each of her films, Margot made sure to look amazing, leaving many of her fans wondering how she did it. Here are 5 of Margot Robbie’s training, wellness, and beauty secrets that she put to use in some of her roles.
She Eats Fermented Food
When filming Barbie, Margot got her gut health in check. She and her castmates worked with Jasmina Vico on diet and skincare. Jasmina told Harper’s Bazaar that she had the actress eat a lot of fermented food. “Margot was also eating fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, and kefir, all kinds of bitter foods, and berries.”
She Drinks Thistle Tea
In addition to fermented food, Margot and her Barbie co-stars drank thistle tea on set. Jasmina talked about the benefits of it to Harper’s Bazaar. “It helps with flushing the liver which makes the skin better because it produces more glutathione which helps with luminosity and brightness,” she explains. “They [the Barbies] were all having that tea.”
She Skates
When she played Tonya Harding in I, Tonya, Margot naturally learned how to ice skate. She talked about this process in an interview with Body + Soul. “[I did] as much as we could possibly do before production started. I think I did about three or four months of skating, like five times a week for a couple of hours a day. Even if I had 10 years to practice, I could never do a triple axel.”
She Does The Basic Exercises
Margot does a lot of different things to keep herself in shape. She doesn’t like to stray from the basic exercises. Margot shared some of her go-to moves with Body + Soul. “Weights, mostly, and lots of sit-ups. It’s all the stuff you know you’re meant to do, but just can never be bothered to do, although ice-skating itself was a huge part of it.”
She Works Her Legs
To prepare for her role as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, Margot worked with trainer Andie Hecker. Andie revealed to People, via Marie Claire, that they did a lot of lower body exercises to get her in shape. “We also did a tonne of side-series outer thigh work, targeting outer glutes with high reps and low weights, to pull her muscles in and creative a beautiful line from the waist to the upper thigh.”
