Megan Fox's Trick to Sculpt Her Core (Hint: It's Not Crunches)

The 38-year-old actress consistently works hard to stay in shape. "The journey of loving myself is going to be never-ending, I think," she told Sports Illustrated Swimsuit (via TODAY.com). She eats well and prioritizes exercise and self-love. There are several tricks Megan Fox stands by to keep her core sculpted—and it's not crunches!

Megan Fox Does Emsculpt Treatments

Megan is particularly known for her impressive figure and let her fans in on one of her secrets. According to New Beauty, the celeb revealed that Emsculpt—a procedure that equals doing 20,000 crunches, without doing them—is what transformed her abs.

"I am loving these Emsculpt treatments for real, they are making a huge difference, and I haven't even waited long enough to see the full results. Super psyched about this. It's a really good machine," Megan shared.

According to the Emsculpt website, it's a device that sculpts your abs and builds muscle mass via high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy (HIFEM) right through the patient's skin. Once there, the muscles contract. At that point, the contractions will boost muscle mass, fast-track ab sculpting, and release free fatty acids, according to the website. The service can also be performed to tighten and build one's buttocks.

The process does not involve surgery, injections, or anesthesia. In addition, Emsculpt feels similar to a vigorous workout, so you don't need have to miss any time at the gym or performing any activities.

She Strength Trains

Emsculpt is not the only thing Megan does to look her absolute best. She's also trained with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak who helps her work out and eat healthier.

Harley revealed to Us Weekly that Megan performed plenty of strength training to get into top shape for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

"She's resistance training with me at least three days a week," he said. "They're short, these workouts. [We're] really focusing on the muscles behind her body and to draw her posture back. She was basically just pregnant for the better part of two years in between carrying babies. So we got strength in her upper back with back rows, dumbbell rows, and the lower back with the Superman [stretch] for lower back."

She Consumes a Healthy Diet, Too

In addition to doing Emsculpt and working out, Megan Fox consumes a nutritious diet. Mindful eating is essential when it comes to staying in stellar shape.

Harley revealed one of Megan's go-to, protein-packed foods to Glamour: salmon. "She is now a salmon fan. She will have salmon at least once a day," Harley told the outlet. "She'll go have a bunch of salmon sashimi and she'll have a cucumber salad and miso soup and some edamame."

In addition, Megan whips up healthy snacks. Harley told Us Weekly, "In the morning she'll do a smoothie or an egg white omelet with some avocado as healthy fats. And she'll have hummus and cut veggies as a snack and a salad with grilled chicken for lunch."
