Isla Dawn is training at Fighting Spirit – in her workout clothes. In a new social media post the WWE Raw wrestler shows off her amazing figure in exercise gear as she visits the wrestling academy in Florida. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. She Was an Actress First

Isla started off as an actress. She was discovered after being cast as a wrestler on a Glasgow theatre production called Cementville. “I was trained by Killian Dain who is in WWE now. He got me into wrestling in a weird way. I was acting and he scouted me. He thought I’d be good,” she told The Sun. “We bonded straight away and as soon as I fell into wrestling, I realised it was the perfect job for me. It had everything — showmanship, physicality, competition. It combined everything I’d done previously. It’s been a funny ride but an amazing one.”

2. Kick-Boxing

“I did kick-boxing,” she says, “so he said I could transfer my skills. During Cementville, he visited to make sure we were doing things properly.” Harvard Health maintains that boxing is a great way to build strength, improve balance, posture, hand-eye coordination, boost mood and endurance, and helps increase alertness.

3. Dancing

"I’ve been dancing since I could walk,” Isla added in another interview with The Mirror. "I danced professionally until wrestling became by focus" she adds. Dancing is a great workout for many reasons. Not only does it build strength and promote flexibility, but helps you lose weight and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop heart disease or die from it than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues.

4. Powerlifting

"I do a lot of powerlifting training, I kickbox a lot and I like being strong,” she told The Mirror. "I don’t just want to be strong looking, I want to BE strong.”

5. Girl Power

"I’m really close to (WWE NXT Superstar) Nikki Cross, and I remember at one point I think it was just her and two other girls that were wrestling in Scotland. There were hardly any shows that had even just one match for a girl. They had a tough time getting the experience, and they had to work extra hard,” she told The Mirror. "So, to be able to come in (to WWE) at a point where there are so many girls to wrestle, and so many places to learn, and so many opportunities for us, it’s amazing. I don’t think people would have believed this could have happened for the women 10 years ago."

WWE star Zelina Vega is showing off the impressive results of her intense training routine, on social media. Vega, 33, posted highlights of her life recently, including a stunning snap of her posing in gray sweats and a matching sports bra, looking strong and toned. “Thank you all for the bday love yesterday. Means more than you know. Never know what helps fuel a person to keep fighting. Or just to simply not feel alone. Love you guys. Now, back to work💪🏽,” she captioned the post. Vega works hard to stay strong and ready for the ring—here’s how she does it.

1. HIIT and Muay Thai

Vega does plenty of HIIT workouts mixed up with martial arts. “I workout probably, like, six days a week,” she told Muscle & Fitness. “My husband [Malakai Black] likes to make these, like, powerlifting routines for me and then we also mix it up with Muay Thai. So, it’s a lot of different things that I feel like helps me a lot in the ring, whether it’s strength-wise, speed-wise, so yeah, it’s tough but you gotta fit it in.”

2. Diet Advice From The Rock

Dwayne,Johnson,At,The,Afi,Fest,2016,Premiere,Of,'moana'Shutterstock

Vega enjoys a vegan diet, and brings her own food on the road. “It is very difficult to eat though, I will say that, because you are just so busy running around all the time,” she told Muscle & Fitness. “Like even with [media calls], I completely forgot to eat, but I learned this from Dwayne Johnson: He had a timer on his phone that showed ‘OK, it’s time to eat’ and he would stop what he was doing and he’d make sure he gets his meals in, and then he would continue doing what he was doing.”

3. Video Game Star

Kid,Holding,Playstation,5,Controller,With,Street,Fighter,6,LogoShutterstock

Vega appeared in the Street Fighter 6 video game as a commentator, and would love to expand to other games. “I've always loved Mortal Kombat and Tekken 2,” she told Screen Rant. “I think what's cool about the fighting game community is that I think we just kind of support all games. It's not even just after one, that's all you can ever be. But also, I would love to be a part of something that has to do with Naruto or Demon Slayer or something like that, because I'm such a big anime head that I'd love to kind of blend those two. Because obviously, I've played Naruto and Ninja Storm, stuff like that. So in some ways, I'd like to find a way to blend the anime gaming space there.”

4. Puerto Rico Pride

Vega is thrilled about the increased diversity in the wrestling world. “It has always been important to me. I’m Puerto Rican from New York,” she told TV Insider. “We’re all very proud of who we are. My family, I’m proud of them and feel like I’m representing them. I’m also representing the culture while I’m doing what I’m doing. I want that to reflect well on all of us as Latinos and Latinas. You think of Eddie [Guerrero] and Rey [Mysterio], but I wanted people to initially, especially in NXT, to think of me. That was a huge thing for us.”

5. Pre-Fight Ritual

Vega has a moving ritual before she gets in the ring for a fight. “I have a moment where I talk to my dad,” she told HOLA! USA. “I call my guardian angels. I go through my list: my dad, my uncle, my grandfather. I mean, even my little puppy that I lost. So I get to talk to them and tell them to be there with me because, without them, I wouldn’t be where I am. And even though they’re gone, I feel them making sure that I’m safe in the ring. I always say, ‘Make sure I’m safe, make sure I remember everything, make sure that the fans love it.’”

Maycee Barner is showing off all her gym moods – and her amazing body in exercise clothes. In a new social media post the MMA fighter flaunts her figure in shorts and a crop top during an exercise session. “There’s no in between 😂💀 Which one are you?!” she captioned the video of all her gym moods. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Her Daily Schedule

Maycee works out from 9:30-10:30 a.m, wrestles from 1:30-2:30 p.m., and has team practice 3-4 p.m. Then, she takes a recovery period and does cryotherapy from 6-7 p.m. Then, at 8 p.m., a light run or hot tub, “depending on the day's training intensity.”

Science of Food

"After I got signed with UFC, they did all these metabolic tests to create a meal plan for me, which they partnered with meal delivery service Trifecta to do," Barber told Well + Good. She avoids soy and dairy, and eats a diet high in protein, healthy fats, and lots of fibrous veggies as a result of her testing. "I've gotten really into the science behind what's best to eat because it's so important [for my job]," she said. "I've done meal plans in the past where I haven't felt good at all, I felt sick and tired all the time, but eating this way makes me feel energized and also keeps my immune system strong.”

Breakfast

"All of my meals are some sort of combination of protein and vegetables—including breakfast," says Barber. "I really love eggs, so that's something I have a lot in the mornings, often with a side of broccoli, or another high-fiber vegetable. I like to have coffee, but I wait until after my morning workout to have it. Throughout the day, I make sure to stay hydrated, too. Hydration is really important. I drink water before, during, and after all my workouts."

Lunch

Assortment,Of,Poke,Bowls,Flat,LayShutterstock

Next up, lunch. "There's a poke spot close to me that I love, so I got there a lot for lunch," she says. "I do a build-your-own-bowl, adding ahi tuna and lots and lots of greens. I also add in cilantro, cucumber, and red onion. The sauce I like to put on top is lime juice-based. I love this lunch because it's super healthy, really delicious, and gives me the stamina I need to push through my next workout,” she said.

Dinner

"Dinner is...yep, more protein and veggies! One of my go-to dinners is salmon and vegetables," she says. "It has protein, healthy fats, and of course lots of fiber—everything I know my body needs to feel good. I don't actually love the taste of salmon, but I do love the way it makes me feel. As you can see, I eat a lot of fish and vegetables; that's pretty much the core of my diet. I just try to find ways to keep it mix it up and keep it interesting."

MMA fighter Paige VanZant is used to dealing with heavy weights—but even though she makes it look effortless, her training is seriously intense. VanZant, 30, shared a video of herself wearing brown shorts and a black sports bra, pushing a very heavy sled across the gym with a smile on her face. VanZant is open about the incredible discipline it takes to train like an athlete and prepare for fights—here’s what her diet, fitness, and training routine looks like, and her best advice for anyone who wants to be strong.

1. She's Dedicated to Her Regime

VanZant is strict and dedicated to her workout regimen. “I’m in the gym every day twice a day,” she told Women Fitness. “Since I have switched over to professional boxing my schedule comprises of boxing every day, sometimes twice a day. And strength and conditioning three days a week. I do all of my training at American top team, a world renowned MMA and combat academy.”

2. Fighting Diet and Cheat Days

VanZant is careful about her diet, but makes a point of making her healthy food as delicious as possible. “Dieting is a huge part of being any sort of professional athlete,” she told Women Fitness. “My husband and I love cooking and we really enjoy making healthy meals together. I like to think of myself as a chef and have competed on many cooking shows. We of course have our occasional cheat day here and there. But once we have a flight scheduled it’s down to business. Then after we fight we go a little bit crazy and eat everything in sight.”

3. Intense Training and Relaxing Workouts

VanZant is active even on her “off” days, going on hikes to relax. “Every day is different, it depends on what day of the week it is,” she told Vogue. “We have lots of classes, wrestling, jujitsu. I do a lot of Pilates, yoga, CrossFit as well. I also try to include one relaxing workout through the week like hiking. When I gear up for a fight I try to cut out a lot of the fun outdoorsy workouts and do a lot more training in the gym. I do more cardio, and I run a lot if I can. I do a lot more sparring and more combat throughout the week.”

4. Fitness Goals

VanZant advises anyone wanting to get fit to start slowly and set realistic goals—you don’t have to work out like an MMA fighter to reap the rewards. “Just taking a cardio kickboxing class [can be helpful],” she told Vogue. “You can go into a gym and it’s all cardio-based and you get to learn a little bit of self-defense as well. When I started MMA, I got into the best shape of my life.”

5. Dancing With the Stars

VanZant loved her stint on Dancing With the Stars, as she has a background in dance. “Competing on Dancing With the Stars by far was one of the greatest experiences I have been able to take part in because of my successful MMA career,” she told Women Fitness. “I actually grew up dancing and had been away from it for the past 10 years. Being on the show helped me get back in touch with my roots. I absolutely loved my partner Mark Ballas. We are still very good friends and chat every now and then. I would love to be able to compete on the show one more time and redeem myself and my second place trophy. As a professional fighter I really want that first place win.”

Kiera Hogan is a successful wrestler currently with AEW. Hogan was previously a part of Impact Wrestling. In April, she shared a video of herself doing leg presses in the gym. Hogan captioned the post, “It’s monday you know what that means, its leg day!! Gotta vibe out to @snowthaproduct to push this weight! Periodt! S/o my motivation @diamantelax and I know yall see them 6 PLATES, don’t play with her.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Kiera Hogan stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Does Leg Presses

Hogan’s leg presses are very beneficial. Asphalt Green reports, The leg press works all of the lower body muscles, but it really emphasizes the quads, hamstrings, and glutes. One of the big benefits of a machine like the leg press is that it can build those larger muscles, and it’s easy to use. There are those who argue this machine is less effective at building overall strength than free weight exercises; the truth is, no matter what you’ll still get stronger while you’re using it. It’s all about you, and where you are on your fitness journey.”

2. She Strength Trains

In her Instagram video, Hogan does her leg presses with a lot of weights. Strength training has a lot of benefits, according to AARP. “Strength training may be even more protective for your ticker than aerobic exercise, according to a study of 4,086 adults presented last November at the American College of Cardiology. Best of all, you don't have to do a lot to see benefits. A study published last year, in the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, revealed that less than an hour of weekly resistance exercise reduces risk of developing metabolic syndrome (a cluster of conditions, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and elevated blood sugar, that raise risk of heart disease) by up to 70 percent.”

3. She Wants To Stand On Her Own

Hogan used to compete in Tag Team Wrestling. However, she told Thunder Rosa that she wants to stand on her own. “I was always somebody’s best friend. I was Allie’s best friend, Jordynne’s best friend, Madison Rayne’s best friend. Can I be by myself? Am I not strong enough to be by myself? Am I not a strong enough character? What is it? That’s why I changed my character to try and do something different and not the same ol’ same ol’. ‘Maybe I’m stale.’ I tried to switch it up.”

4. She Gets Sunshine

She has posed in swimsuits, getting some healthy sun. "Sunlight allows us to make vitamin D, but a new research finding could reveal another powerful benefit of getting some sun. Georgetown University Medical Center researchers have found that sunlight, through a mechanism separate from vitamin D production, energizes T cells that play a central role in human immunity," says Georgetown.

5. She Wrestles, Naturally!

"Wrestling is an intense full-body workout that engages virtually every muscle group. The sport demands explosive power, agility, and cardiovascular endurance, making it an excellent way to improve overall physical fitness. Regular training in wrestling helps athletes build muscular strength, improve balance, and enhance flexibility. It contributes to better body composition and supports weight management, which can lead to a healthier lifestyle," says British Wrestling.

Magazine. “I’ve found that if every week I do something different it tricks my muscles into not getting used to doing any one thing. I’ve been doing pilates, I’ve been doing yoga, I’ve done just plain old walking. I wear 10 pound weights on my ankles while I’m working just so that as I’m moving during the day I’m constantly building muscle. It’s not great for your back but I’m doing it anyway. I do a booty workout thing that I just did for Shape, which was really fun. And I do Zumba. I have DVDs and I dance around like a crazy person in my house.”

In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
