Ivanka Trump in Surfer Gear Says "Happy Valentine's Day"

Here is how the former First Daughter stays fit.

Ivanka Trump is celebrating Valentine's Day – in her wetsuit. In a new social media post the former First Daughter shows off her amazing body in surfing gear, wishing her husband, Jared Kushner, a happy day of love. How does the mother-of-three maintain her fit physique? Celebwell has all the details about how the 42-year-old stays fit.

1

Healthy Diet

Prior to getting pregnant, she "ate like a teenager…carbs three times a day usually in the form of pasta or pizza," Ivanka told Eat This, Not That! However, she managed to boost her metabolism by making healthy choices and eating whole foods. "For me, at the end of the day, exercise is more about how I physically feel and it's giving me clarity of mind and diet has more of a direct impact on my actual weight," she told People. Ivanka added to ETNT that she focuses on a protein rich diet. Her favorite? Salmon. However, she tries to limit her carb intake and stays away from anything processed.

Running

"I like to run with my husband [Jared Kushner]," Ivanka says. "It's something we started doing around a year and a half ago when my team at my fashion brand all decided collectively we would train for a half marathon. I had never run like a half mile in my life, so this was a very daunting experience."

Exercise

Ivanka also prioritizes exercise. "When I'm in town, I like to work out at the gym in my building. My trainer, Peter Monge, put together a workout program for me — he also put together a similar program exclusively for my readers that I do with him once a week. The other days, I go through it on my own and in the hotel gym when I travel," she told My Morning Routine. She also likes SoulCycle and takes hikes, rides horses, and wake boards.

Meditation

Ivanka wakes up at 5:30 am to meditate. "Meditation is one of the most important things I do each day," she told My Morning Routine. "I meditate for twenty minutes, ideally twice daily. Sometimes I miss the afternoon session, but I always make the morning one. It's been invaluable in terms of calming my mind and allowing me to think more clearly. I recently treated my team to an intensive transcendental meditation course. It's proven to increase productivity at work and cut down on stress (doesn't that sound awesome!?)."

Surfing

Ivanka and Jared have another his and hers workout: Surfing. What makes it a great workout? Surfing provides many health benefits including cardiovascular fitness from paddling, shoulder and back strength, which also strengthens from the paddling, and leg and core strength. "Once you're standing up on the board, strong legs and a strong core will keep you up," says According to the Australian government's Better Health.
