Jen Lilley is a very successful actress. She’s best known for starring in Hallmark Channel movies. Lilley is currently filming a Christmas movie for the network, and shared a video of herself doing so on Instagram. In it, she is seen learning how to waltz. Lilley captioned the post, “Save the date! A Paris Christmas Waltz premieres Nov 19 at 8 PM/7c on @gactv. And yes we got an interim agreement! Because we need to show the major studios that actors can work and thrive without the studio system.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Jen Lilley stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Doesn’t Compare Herself To Others

Lilley shared some of her parenting advice in an interview with Parade. “No one's a perfect mom,” she says. “Don’t go through Instagram and compare yourself to people because we're obviously generally going to post our best moments. And sometimes I like to post really low moments for people to keep it real.”

2. She Has Balance

Low,Light,Of,Work-life,Balance,Concept.Shutterstock

Lilley talked about finding a work-life balance to Parade. “It’s hard to balance it all but I feel like the quality time does make up for quantity time. If you just really focus on your kid and you're present, you're not on your phone when you're with them, they don't remember the times that you weren't there.”

3. She Makes Working Out A Priority

Lilley talked about making time for herself with Parade. She says that she makes exercise her self-care and a major priority. “I need to exercise because that is part of the job, that you stay fit cause you’re on camera. So I will prioritize hiking with a girlfriend, which is emotional care as well because you're swapping stories and laughing and then having real talk. But you're also exercising at the same time. So for me, it’s finding ways for me to look at things that aren't just self-care.”

4. She Does A Variety Of Workouts

Lilley shared her wellness secrets in an interview with Celebrity Sweat. She says that she does a lot of different exercises to keep herself in shape. “For my exercise, I do a lot of free weights, free weights, and walking. I mean I wish I did more but when you're on a soap there's no time.” Harvard Health states, “Exercise is key to good health. But we tend to limit ourselves to one or two types of activity. People do what they enjoy, or what feels the most effective, so some aspects of exercise and fitness may be ignored. In reality, we should all be doing aerobics, stretching, strengthening, and balance exercises.”

5. She Stays Hydrated

Lilley tells Celebrity Sweat that she makes sure to stay hydrated. "I do drink a lot of water. I think that's key to your hair looking good, your skin looking good, and overall wellness.” Harvard Health states, “Drinking enough water each day is crucial for many reasons: to regulate body temperature, keep joints lubricated, prevent infections, deliver nutrients to cells, and keep organs functioning properly. Being well-hydrated also improves sleep quality, cognition, and mood.”

Jill Wagner is an actress and TV host. She was one of the hosts on the ABC version of Wipeout. Wagner also appeared in the TV series, Lioness, and in Hallmark movies. Wagner shared a workout photo on Instagram last month. In it, she wore a black tank top and hat, and carried weights. She captioned the post, “Thank you to my friend and coach @everydaywithshay for pushing me and my body to stay strong !!!” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Jill Wagner stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Works Hard

Jill.Wagner.2Jill Wagner/Facebook

Wagner shares a lot of her fitness journey on Facebook. In this post, she talked about the importance of working hard in the gym. “Some of you ask me why I am pushing myself so hard in the gym. Here’s the reason why. I am an actor. It is my job to portray a character to the best of my ability. I have the opportunity of a lifetime coming up next year with my project ‘Lioness’. I believe that I have a lot to prove to the people running the show. I am not a major famous actor that can just walk in the room and impress people with my credits. I feel as if I need to work harder to show the people in charge that I want this and I am serious about the role that I’ve been given. I also believe that there is no luck in life and it all amounts to being prepared when you have the opportunity thrown your way. I am not about to let this moment in time slide by without giving it 100% of my effort. I realize I just had a baby and I am going about this in the safest way I know how. But I also believe that as a mother you don’t have to give up who you are and what your dreams are just because you have children. I want to be an example for my girls to let them know that anything is possible if you’re willing to bust your ass to get it.”

2. She Does Pull-Ups

Jill.Wagner.1Jill Wagner/Facebook

A workout that Wagner likes to do is pull-ups. She shared this video on Facebook of herself doing pull-ups at the gym. Wagner captioned the post, “4 pull ups may not seem like a lot , but for me it’s a huge accomplishment. When @everydaywithshay and I began Operation Lioness I couldn’t do one pull up . I am stronger not only physically but mentally . Thank you @everydaywithshay for pushing me to be my best self!”

3. She Does Lunges

Fitness,Woman,Doing,Lunges,Exercises,For,Leg,Muscle,Workout,TrainingShutterstock

Wagner shared some of her favorite exercises in an interview with SELF. She revealed that she loves to do lunges. ACE Fitness states that lunges are a great workout. “They’re a form of unilateral training, which means you’re working only one limb or side of the body at a time. And unilateral training is a more effective way to build functional strength (than using both legs) because these types of movement mimic other everyday motions, like walking and climbing stairs — and not just to the working leg. Research suggests the strength gains to the nonworking side are about half of the strength gains of the working side.”

4. She Does Push-Ups

Young,Woman,Practicing,Yoga,,Doing,Push,Ups,Or,Press,Ups, plankShutterstock

In her SELF interview, Wagner revealed that she does push-ups. Harvard Health states that the exercise has a lot of benefits. “The push-up engages your body from top to bottom. It works several muscle groups at once: the arms, chest, abdomen (core), hips, and legs. Push-ups also can be modified as needed. ‘By adjusting the speed you perform a push-up, the angle of your body, and even hand placement, you can add more or less intensity, or focus on specific muscles,’ says Dr. Dr. Edward Phillips, assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School.”

5. She Works With A Trainer

As you can see in her Instagram post, Wagner works with a personal trainer. ACE Fitness states that this has a lot of health benefits. “Most of us work harder in the presence of others. Having a trainer by your side can provide the encouragement, energy and motivation you need to jumpstart your routine. A trainer can also help you set goals, create a plan to accomplish them and celebrate the day you reach them.”

Dancing With the Stars’ Emma Slater is preparing for the official show tour to wrap up, and she’s clearly a little sad about the fun coming to an end. Slater, 35, shared a cute video of herself wearing black jogging pants and an athletic shirt, dancing on the beach with Harry Jowsey, Rylee Arnold, and Alan Bersten. “Final week on tour 🥹,” Jowsey captioned the video. “Can’t believe it’s nearly over 😢,” Slater commented on the video. Here’s what Slater’s training, wellness, and fitness routine looks like.

1. Dance-Based Workouts

Slater’s workouts are, unsurprisingly, dance-based. “I love to do workouts such as bar method training, which is the perfect mix of Pilates, dance and cardio for me,” she told New Beauty. “While the DWTS tour is happening, we get a lot of cardio in just by doing the show, but all the female dancers usually still went to the gym together during the day. I like to do leg lifts out to the side and behind me, alternating each leg. To mix it up, you can add some push-ups in between changing sides so you can get a more complete workout. Planking is the best for a strong core!”

2. Water and Warm Ups

Slater stays hydrated and always stretches before and after her workouts. “I try to drink lots of water; it’s such a key element to staying healthy and active,” she told New Beauty. My football legend celebrity partner Rashad Jennings took over our daily warm-ups and we did lots of hamstring stretches through a series of drills over a 20-yard stretch. I also needed to warm my neck up a lot too because I am most prone to tight shoulders and neck twinges!”

3. Rest and Recovery

Slater is careful to allow the right amount of time for recovery after dancing. “It’s hard to maintain an injury-free body when you are doing that amount of dancing,” she told Richmond Family Magazine. “We travel with a physical therapist, Sandra. She warms us up, provides us with ice packs and stretches us out. She works on any injuries or stress on our bodies.”

4. Movie Dreams

Slater would love to make more movies. “I definitely would love to act even a little bit more and put my foot into the door there,” she told Nicki Swift. “I feel like dancing and acting are so closely linked in the sense it's a form of expression, and that's probably why I became a dancer. I wanted to be an actress first so doing Mamma Mia! was so fun for me, getting to work with Meryl Streep.”

5. Hair On Set

Slater is thrilled with how the beauty department on set takes care of her and develops amazing new looks. “The hair department at DWTS is no joke!” she told New Beauty. “They seriously have everything you can think of that involves hair. Hair pieces, products, heat tools, nets, accessories, wigs and the list goes on. One of my favorite looks was a dreadlock look that I did while dancing a mambo with Tommy Chong. Mary who is the head of the hair department added blond dreadlock clips to my hair and crimped my natural hair in between it for a really voluminous ‘Islander’ effect. I loved it!”

Kelly Burglund is recreating a movie scene – in her workout clothes. In a new social media post the actress shows off her figure in exercise clothes while recreating an iconic movie moment from 10 Things I Hate About You with her boyfriend. “0 things I hate about you ♥️,” she writes in the caption. “Cute,” commented one of her followers. How does the Heels star approach diet, fitness, and self care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. Prior to Heels, She Was a “SoulCycler”

Berglund discussed her physical transformation for Heels with SheKnows. Prior to shooting she had a dance and gymnastics background and enjoyed spin classes. “I go to SoulCycle and that’s about it!” she told her trainer for the show. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

2. Three Hours of Training Per Night

To get in shape prior to shooting, Berglund spent three hours a night wrestling. Then, for season two, she amped it up even more. “I trained for five months going into season two, because Crystal is much more of a wrestler now. I wanted to bulk up and look more like a wrestler,” she added to The Hollywood Reporter.

3. Bulking and Cutting

Much like real wrestlers, Berglund bulked and cut. “So I was eating a pretty strict bulking diet of lots of protein, and then cutting closer to when we were filming the show, I was training for about three hours a day, five days a week. And that continued on as we started filming in Atlanta. They built us another gym like they did in season one, and we were in there on all of our off days with the stunt team. Even the cast that aren’t wrestlers were coming into the gym; it became this community. So it was extremely difficult, but I’m so proud of myself for getting through it. And in watching the second season, I’m grateful that it comes across,” she told THR.

4. Ice Baths

Kelli cools down with ice baths. “Thank you for having us @denmotherwellness 🌿 pure bliss is fighting for your life in an ice bath together,” she captioned a recent post. There is limited research supporting the benefits of cold plunges, which may include easing sore muscles, bringing body temperature down, increased focus, improved sleep, and decreased inflammation, per the Cleveland Clinic. However, a 2021 study found that cold water immersion therapy promotes basic post-sport recovery.

5. Dance

Kelli also blasts calories via dance. “I take dance classes (when I can) in my free time… it’s still such a love of mine, plus, it’s a great workout!” Kelli told Naluda. Dancing is a great workout for many reasons. Not only does it build strength and promote flexibility, but helps you lose weight and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop heart disease or die from it than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues.

Vanessa Hudgens is showing off her impressive Pilates moves – on a reformer. In a recent social media post shared by the High School Musical star’s Pilates trainer, Nonna Gleyzer, the actress shows off her gorgeously sculpted body in a catsuit while executing a difficult move. “Behind every great woman, there is another great woman. That’s what I’m going to say about one and only @vanessahudgens that’s is doing the most amazing job performing Russian Spilt on Pilates Reformer. 👊my beautiful friend!!!” Gleyzer captioned the post. The trainer-to-the-stars (Gisele and Kelly Rowland are two of her other famous clients) dished on Vanessa’s Pilates practice to Celebwell. Here is everything you need to know about it.

1. Vanessa Is Trained Like a Dancer and Athlete

“It’s extremely easy to work with Vanessa, because she is by far one of the most coordinated, focused, and very in tune with her body people. She is also very flexible and has amazing control. It’s like working with a dancer and an athlete at the same time,” Gleyzer tells us. “She is very active and does different workouts all the time. She just loves to move her body.”

2. 3 to 4 Pilates Sessions Per Week

March,2024,Desk,Calendar,On,Red,Color,Background.Shutterstock

In addition to weight training, Vanessa visits the Body By Nonna studio multiple times a week. “When it comes to pilates and when we work together, we see each other 3 to 4 times per week,” she reveals. Her main focus during the sessions is the whole body workout, but each session aims to target a single group of muscles.

3. Leg Workouts

“We usually start with the foot workout on the reformer and training the legs in every dimension possible,” says Gleyzer. “The thighs contain several muscles. The quadriceps and hamstrings help us bend and extend the hips and knees. The adductors move the legs inward toward each other. The pectineus and sartorius let you flex and rotate the thighs at the hip.”

4. Ab Workouts

“We also do lots of abs with the pilates ball as well as side ups on the Pilates spine corrector. This allows her to get deeper into the muscles while protecting the back,” she says.

5. Upper Body Workouts

Woman,Doing,Pilates,Exercise,On,Cadillac,Reformer,Machine.Shutterstock

Their upper body workouts are done mostly on the Pilates Cadillac, “where we use the roll-down bar to arm and do lots of moves that involve stretching and control,” she says. This includes the The Russian Split that Hudgens demonstrates in Gleyzer’s video.

6. Vanessa “Knows Her Body Well”

“Working with Vanessa is incredible and so easy as she knows her body so well and loves to see results,” concludes Gleyzer.

Rayna Vallandingham is flashing her washboard abs – in a two-piece exercise set from Alo. In a new social media post the actress flaunts her impressive midsection during a workout at the gym. “dojang diaries,” she captioned the series of snaps. “Magnific! Very very beautiful,” commented one of her followers. “♥️More like diaries of a hottie♥️” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are her top lifestyle tips.

Be Consistent

Consistency – at the gym and the martial arts studio – is the key to success. "It is a way of life," Rayna says. "It's not only teaching your body movements and being in synchronicity with your body, but also just like the mental aspect of it."

Fight Your Way to a Hot Body

Rayna is a big fan of martial arts. She has been doing taekwondo since she was 2, earning her first black belt at 6. "In the very beginning, my parents put me in the sport because I was just really shy, and I think they could tell that I needed something," says Vallandingham, who lives and trains in Los Angeles. "Immediately, I just loved it. I felt at home, and every single day, instead of watching Dora, I wanted to go to the dojo,” she told Well + Good. Studies confirm that the practice helps with balance, cognitive function, psychological health, weight loss, and physical fitness.

Work on Strength and Flexibility

Rayna recommends prioritizing strength, flexibility, and power. "Of the three, I think strength and flexibility are the top two," Vallandingham says. "We used to have people stand on my legs and force my knees to come down in butterfly stretch," she says. "I have permanent damage to my body—I have tendonitis [because of this]."

Lift Weights

If you want a strong, lean body like Vallandingham, you must lift for it. The star strength trains, focusing on supersets, doing two moves back-to-back that target the same muscle groups to double down on their gains. One of her favorite exercises is a goblet squat. She stands with her feet shoulder-width apart, folded forward until she can slide her palms underneath her soles (you could also hold your ankles or calves), then bends her knees, lowering her butt toward the floor while lifting her chest, coming into a deep squat. She'll bend and extend her legs several times in this position. Then, it's on to the main event, holding a weight in her hands while bending down into a deep squat. "I love utilizing a Bosu ball—they're pretty much in every single gym," she adds.

Stretch

Rayna never skips stretching. She starts by by lying on the floor with her legs up the wall and then allowing them to open out into a side split. "I let gravity do its work because that's my body telling me, okay, this is where we're at," she says. "My hips are opening on their own, and I'm not having to force anything." “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

Charli Hawkins is training in the snow – in her two-piece workout gear. In a new social media post the Olympian shows off her fantastic figure – including her flat abs – in an exercise set while enjoying the winter weather. “TRAINING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND! ❄️🥶❤️✨Gearing up in this altitude for the LONDON MARATHON this April! I’m so excited to see what my mind and body can make happen! To my marathon runners: it’s your time to shine, PLEASE tell me ALL of your tips, all of your advice, and for all of you who understand what I’m about to attempt, please send your words of encouragement 😂 Also feel free to try to talk me out of this as well thanks👍 We are on the training countdown. Turning a sprinter, jumper, and thrower into a long distance runner 🫣🙌 What do you think my time will be?” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Minfulness and Meditation

Charli practices mindfulness. Before going for a run, she says words of intention. “I am willing. I am grateful. I surrender,” she revealed during an interview with San Diego Magazine. Meditation:

“When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress,” says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality

Stretching

She also makes sure to stretch. “If you ever can think of some dynamic stretches: F.A.S.T. ✨🙌 My left hip and right QLs have been SO tight lately so I’m on a journey of getting them right! What’s bugging you at the moment???” she captioned a post. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

Here Is The Right Way To Run

During her interview with San Diego, Charli explained how you should be running. “Remember, the sole of the foot is showing right in front of us,” she said, doing a type of high-knee movement. “To do this, you’re over exaggerating your running form while standing still. Raise your knee up, point your toes to the clouds (forming an A), and then pedal the sole of your foot forward before striking your knee down. It’s more complicated than it sounds after 30-plus years of moving a certain way,” the writer explained.

Positive Attitude

In a recent post Charli revealed things she learned about positivity. “Patience is easier when it isn’t required,” she said. “The people around you are BLESSINGS (which I feel like I already understood but sometimes it’s nice to have it emphasized).” Also, “We are up, we are down, but trusting the process sometimes means knowing that it’s all good even when it’s not the best” and “Making a plan is the best option for everything. It’s ok if the plan doesn’t go perfect, but just willy-nilly-ing it is not the best option when you want to get things done.”

Never Giving Up

Charli refuses to give up. “Understand what you want first, and then go for it. Then keep going for it all the time, and, eventually, you’ll get it,” she said during her interview.

Giulia Arena first made waves when she won the 2013 Miss Italia pageant. Since then, she’s become a successful actress, TV host, and model. Arena recently took a trip to the Maldives. She shared a set of photos on Instagram of herself at the beach. In them, Arena is seen in a white swimsuit. She captioned the post, “Native habitat.”

Biking

Giulia enjoys cycling. During her trip to the Maldives Giulia went bike riding. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

Reading

Giulia is also a fan of books. In the Maldives, she took some time to relax and read. One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

Snorkeling

Giulia snorkels, recently discovering the “Sea Lung,” she revealed in a post. “It reaches 60cm long with a weight of almost 10kg, and represents the largest medusa of the Mediterranean. I don’t know why, but I have always experienced the charm of Jellyfish: creatures that are essentially simple and yet capable of surviving entire geological epochs floating, light and slow, between the currents. She, remains one of the most beautiful sights of this summer.” Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Coffee

Giulia is a coffee drinker. She especially likes shots of espresso. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Yoga

Giulia is a yogi. Here she is doing yoga. There are many reasons to do yoga, according to Harvard Health. “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” they said. “People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”
