Fitness model Jen Selter is sharing some highly encouraging and realistic fitness tips for 2024. Selter, 30, posted a video of herself working out in a green two-piece outfit, using dumbbells and resistance bands.

“Some tips to help you stay motivated:

  1. Set Realistic Goals
  2. Create a Routine
  3. Track Progress
  4. Find a Workout Buddy
  5. Mix It Up
  6. Reward Yourself
  7. Listen to Your Body

Be proud of yourself at every step of your fitness journey. It’s not just a destination, it’s a lifestyle💪🏼,” she captioned the post. Here’s what Selter’s diet and workouts look like, and her advice for living your best life.

1. Squats and Lunges

Selter’s enviable glutes are the result of plenty of lunges and squats. “Some of my favorite lower body movements are squat and lunge variations, stairmaster intervals and kickbacks,” she tells New Beauty. “I like working them into my workout routine by doing them in two-movement supersets, or Tabata-style, to get my heart rate up. I share all of my workout tips and a complete lower body and booty guide on my app with Fitplan. You get a free week trial, and it’s where I share all my secrets to reach your lower body’s best potential!”

2. Fuel Your Body

Selter swears by hydration and cheat meals for a happy, balanced life. “There’s only so much you can do in a gym, nutrition is just as important! It’s crucial to fuel your body with the proper nutrients to recover fast and build muscle,” she tells New Beauty. “But that doesn’t mean there’s no room for cheat meals! A healthy life and a healthy diet is all about balance. By far, my number one accessory is my water bottle, I need it to stay hydrated. Sometimes I forget to drink enough water both in and out of the gym. I also love having a pair of gloves to assist me when I’m lifting weights. I like Props Athletics gloves, or any gloves that have a nice design.”

3. Breakfast of Champions

Selter is not one of those fitness influencers who skips breakfast. “Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day!” she tells Women Fitness. “I usually start my mornings with a smoothie which I make myself with my BlendJet which is a portable blender. My shakes are blended with a mixture of fruits, nuts, oat milk, and coffee. Following my shake I will have eggs or oatmeal, I usually alternate. On the weekends I enjoy cooking protein pancakes which are delicious. I have recipes on my Instagram, blog, and YouTube. I’m all about moderation! I don’t believe in depriving yourself of the things you love most. For example, I LOVE dark chocolate. I don’t remember the last day I went a day without having it! But I don’t over indulge. I also LOVE my cheat meals, and have a cheat meal once a week.”

4. Living With Anxiety

Selter feels empowered after sharing her battles with anxiety on social media. “After sharing on my stories that I’ve suffered from anxiety, so many of my followers reached out with such a strong sense of support and advice,” she tells Women Fitness. “It made me realize that so many people are struggling with mental health disorders and no one really talks about it. So many people were saying ‘but your life seems so perfect.’ That is just a social media facade. So I would say the best part is that I have this AMAZING community that I am so thankful for. The worst part is that sharing my personal life can be a bit intimidating. However, sharing this inner struggle with my followers has taught me so much.”

5. Her Best Advice

Selter wants everyone to feel confident in themselves and appreciate their own unique qualities. “My first bit of advice is to eliminate all negative thoughts and negative energy about who you are. No one is perfect, embrace your flaws! It’s what makes you, YOU,” she tells New Beauty. “Your goal should be to be the best version of yourself, and that means finding confidence and having a positive outlook on who you are. I always recommend waking up and writing down a few things you love about yourself and using them as a mantra throughout the day. Avoid comparing yourself to others and stay focused on you, your goals and your best qualities. For every negative thought, replace it by two good ones, and don’t stop until you appreciate your beautiful self.”

Jen Selter, a fitness model and influencer, inspires her followers with her dedication to health and wellness. Known for her creative workouts and stylish activewear, she shares tips and motivation to help others achieve their fitness goals. Last month, Selter visited Anguilla, posting a video on Instagram of herself running in a vibrant blue workout set, captioned, “With temps feeling over 90 degrees here in Anguilla, it doesn’t take long to work up a sweat.. just step outside and boom, instant drip. 💦 Loving this new blue @aloyoga set. Any shade of blue is my fav!!💙”

1. She Runs

In her Instagram video, Selter is seen running up the stairs. According to FloTrack, running has a lot of health benefits. “Running and jogging is an aerobic exercise, and you’re working out both your heart and lungs while doing so. This will also lead to a lower resting heart rate, lower bad cholesterol in your blood and lower blood pressure. You don’t need to run an obscene amount of miles every day to get these benefits, either. Those who just run a couple of minutes a day decrease their risk of cardiovascular death by 58 percent. If you have a hard time running, you can still give your heart a workout by jogging or walking.”

2. She Does What Makes Her Happy

Selter is all about making herself happy, and she wants others to do the same. She talked about this in the caption of her Instagram video. “Remember, every day is a new opportunity, a fresh start to be the best version of yourself. It’s never too late to make a change and go after what makes you happy!! Let’s get it 💪🏼”

3. She Uses Ankle Weights

Selter likes to use ankle weights she works out. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing a core workout with them on. Selter captioned the post, “#MondayMotivation 💪🏼 Matching @FashionNova set 💙Keeping it simple but making it burn with deep core moves using just ankle weights. Slow, focused, and feel the burn💪 Add these moves into your routine and sculpt that body fam.”

4. She Does Core Exercises

Jen Selter.4Jen Selter/Instagram

In the previous Instagram post, Selter is seen doing core workouts. The Mayo Clinic states that doing core exercises is very important. “Strong core muscles make it easier to do many activities. When your core muscles are strong, it's easier to swing a golf club, get a glass from the top shelf and bend down to tie your shoes. Strong core muscles help athletes, such as runners. That's because weak core muscles can lead to more fatigue, less endurance and injuries.”

5. She Swims

Selter likes to swim to keep herself in shape. She shares a lot of posts on Instagram of herself at the pool or at the beach. Selter shared this video of herself underwater. She captioned it, “You’re the most important project you’ll ever work on. So hit reset, refocus, and keep going - no matter how many times it takes. Progress is progress 💪🏼 take me back to @calabashjumbybay ( it’s now for sale 👀)”

Fitness influencer Jen Selter is sharing some workout inspiration with her 13.9 million Instagram followers. Selter, 30, shared a video of herself wearing green two-piece Alo Yoga gear, doing mat exercises next to the ocean. “Feeling stuck in a lazy slump after taking a break from your routine? I get it, it happens to the best of us. But here’s the truth: getting back into the swing of things can make you feel like a whole new person. Trust me, I’ve been there. Remember, every little step you take forward is a win and you’ll be amazed at how quickly you bounce back once you get moving again. You’ve got this!” she captioned the post. Here’s how Selter approaches wellness, fitness, and living her best life.

1. No Secret Pill

Selter is a big believer in the power of positive thought. “Anyone can acquire anything they set their hearts and minds to!” she told HuffPost. “It takes dedication, perseverance, hard work and consistency. There is no secret pill, no special diet. What it comes down to is how hard you push yourself and how you overcome the mental challenge of getting yourself to the gym even when you really don't want to.”

2. Sunday Funday

Selter relaxes with meal prepping and cleaning. “Sundays are my favorite days to reset and decompress,” she told Sundays For Dogs. “I love getting a little workout in, tidying up my apartment, looking over and prepping my schedule for the week ahead, as well as cooking/baking. Sundays are my days to take things slowly, relax and recharge!”

3. Training Mom

Selter enjoys the challenge of training family members like her mother. “Working out with her has been a great learning experience and seeing her progress along the way has really been inspiring to me,” she told Yahoo Beauty. “She has a great work ethic and it shows. I hope I look like her when I’m her age. Training with her has had its challenges, too. Her body behaves a little differently than mine, and I have to always remind myself of that. It’s also fun. She usually gets to be the boss, but in the gym, I’m in charge!”

4. No Perfect Body

Selter wants to remind people to focus on what they can control. “The thing I want people to know is that there is no ‘perfect body.’ I certainly don’t think mine is,” she told Yahoo Beauty. “Just like every other woman out there, there are things about mine I wish I could change. I think what we should all aspire to – what I try to aspire to, is to be the best version of myself, inside and out. There are lots of things about myself, and my body, I can’t change. But there are even more [things] that I’m in control of, and those are what I focus on.”

5. Just Do It

Selter has days when she needs to motivate herself to work out, just like everyone else. "Everyone has days when they don’t want to get out of bed," she told Women’s Health. "I have them. Some days, I’m like, 'The gym’s not happening.' Sometimes I have to give myself a little pep talk."

Kerly Ruiz Shares "Workout of the Day"

Kerly Ruiz is training her legs – in her two-piece workout gear. In a new social media post the fitness personality shows off her amazingly fit figure during an exercise session. “Workout of the day!! Here I leave you today's exercise for quadriceps!!” she captioned the Instagram post. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Here's What She Eats in a Day

Kerly shared a sample day of eating, starting with breakfast: 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg

30g of oats or 1/2 potatoes. Next up, a snack, a protein shake and 2 small Colombian potatoes. Then, for lunch she has 140g chicken with 100g rice and a green salad. For a snack she has 90g shrimp and zucchini vegetable pasta. And finally, for dinner she has 110g of fish with 1 egg and green salad.

Intermittent Fasting

In order to “lose weight, burn fat and get super fit” Kerly intermittent fasts, which she calls her eating method. Intermittent fasting works by “prolonging the period when your body has burned through the calories consumed during your last meal and begins burning fat,” explains Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Low Carb Diet

Kerly is on a low carb diet, she told El Estimulo, revealing she only eats “light” sandwiches. “I try not to eat a lot of bread because it makes my belly bigger, but when I can, I use whole wheat bread. I try to combine it with protein, which is very important to maintain muscle. I like to put some dressings that give flavor to the sandwich so that the diet is pleasant and I don't get bored,” she says. “Olives, avocado, olive oil, alfalfa, whole wheat toast, a grilled chicken breast and a little mustard, because it's the only dressing that doesn't have calories. No mayonnaise, no tomato sauce.”

She Counts Calories

“My diet only allows me a low-calorie sandwich, between 150 and 180 calories, which could be eaten mid-morning - I eat 6 times a day - because you can't eat carbohydrates at night. I try to find the right flavors, since I live on a diet. I put a little bit of what I have at home, avocado, which even though it has fat, it's the good kind, tomato too, so to speak, you can't overdo it either, and olive oil, which is a good fat for the body, skin, hair and nails,” she added.

No Mayo

One ingredient that she would never put in a sandwich? “Mayonnaise because I think that first of all it's greasy for the skin, it gives you acne and secondly it goes to your belly, your rolls. I don't like mayonnaise at all,” she said.

Jen Widerstrom is a fitness expert and podcaster. She is currently training with gladiators. Wiederstrom shared her secrets for staying motivated in a video on Instagram. In it, she is seen on a treadmill. Widerstom says in the video, “I don't want to be here. Want to be here, be here, but come anyways. I'm not homesick because I'm loving every minute here with our pierce, but time is weird. I've got enough in my system to feed a small horse. I miss my bed. I miss the people I care about. But the one thing that always makes me feel better is a gym. I'm going to walk for 10 minutes. I'm going to pick up something heavy, move it slow, move it well, and then go have breakfast with the rest of the gladiators. Lots of protein, lots of water, lots of coffee, and the world will be right again. Just didn't want you guys to think I was perfect.”

1. She Uses A Treadmill

In her Instagram post, Widerstrom is seen on a treadmill. According to Healthy Talbot, this has a lot of benefits. “Treadmill working is an aerobic/ cardio exercise. Studies demonstrate that aerobic exercise can minimize the risk of heart diseases. Moreover, they can strengthen your heart muscles. This helps to lower blood pressure and allows the heart to pump blood more efficiently. Most doctors recommend aerobic exercise to people suffering from cardiovascular diseases.”

2. She Strength Trains

Widerstom shares a lot of fitness tips on Instagram. She shared three in this post’s caption. In it, she revealed that she does a lot of strength training. “Heavy Strength Training. You need to push your effort to an 8 or 9/10 RPE (rate of perceived exertion) in your lifting sessions, 2-3x weekly. (🧐Do you have a strength program yet? Let me know below.)”

3. She Eats Protein

In the same post’s caption, Widerstrom talked about her diet. She revealed that she eats a lot of protein. “Consistency in Protein. Thanks to trailblazing research by @drstacysims we now know that women NEED 1.8-2.2g of protein per kilo of their bodyweight throughout EACH DAY and ideally 40g of that protein is consumed within 30 minutes of completing your workout!”

4. She Takes Care Of Her Gut

Gut,Health,Lettering,Sign,Made,With,Colorful,Background,And,WhiteShutterstock

Widerstrom also revealed in the previous post that she prioritizes her gut health. “Feeding My Microbiome. Believe it or not, your gut health is responsible for generating hormones that regulate your metabolism keeping you at a leaner body composition, building muscle, optimize bone density, and even supports your sleep quality! To begin to build a better relationship with your Microbiome, focus on consuming 25g fiber from plants DAILY. Try zucchini, cucumber, mushrooms, spinach, green peas, cauliflower.”

5. She Works Her Arms

Widerstrom shared her favorite arm workout in this Instagram video. She captioned it, “My ☝️ favorite arm combo for creating hard but *not bigger* arm muscles! 5 ROUNDS of: 6-10x Half-rep Tricep Push ups. SS. 10-12x Triple-pump Banded Curls. SS. 60-90sec REST. YOU SHOULD BE GASSED by the end of this!! And if you’re not, it means you need to go slower on your push-ups (keep those 90° angles in your elbows) and heavier on your bands while still hitting full extension of your biceps after every third pump!!”

Over the past few years, Sydney Sweeney has become one of America’s sweethearts with celebrated roles in everything from hit HBO shows Euphoria and White Lotus to big-screen movies Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Anyone But You. In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
