Jenna Dewan is showing off her pregnant body while doing pilates. In a new social media post the actress shows off her baby bump in a tight black workout ensemble while on the reformer. “My secret weapon forever,” she captioned the Instagram Stories clip. Aside from doing Pilates – which “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health,” per the Mayo Clinic – how does the actress stay in shape? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. Resting

Jenna maintains that resting is a key aspect of overall health. "Rest is the hardest thing for me to come by, as I'm sure most people can relate, but I try to get as much as I can," she recently told Shape magazine. "Making time for myself within working, within family, within all of that is very, very important for me and not the easiest to do, but I make it a priority."

2. Baths

Jenna.Dewan.3Jenna Dewan/Instagram

Dewan is a big fan of taking "me time," she told Shape. One of her go-to methods is taking a bath. How can baths do your body and mind good? They have been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits.

3. Plant-Based, Vegan Diet

Jenna maintains a plant-based diet. “I've been vegan before and I kind of went vegetarian while pregnant. But I really like [to get] as much vegetables and greens as possible, and then add in on top of that. I try to do an 80-20, 80 percent really good for you, and 20 percent to enjoy what I want to enjoy. But right now, I've been in this cleanse stage, so in the mornings I like a green juice — like a celery juice or green smoothie — and I'll have a cup of coffee,” she told POPSUGAR.

4. Weight Lifting

Jenna.Dewan.2Jenna Dewan/Instagram

Dewan is fully "addicted" to weight lifting. “I'm into variety, so I like to switch it up because I get bored easily. Lately, I started with a trainer, which for me is new because I had been just doing Pilates or dance-based workouts or yoga. The trainer's been great for me. He's full-on — we're deadlifting, we're squatting. But I give him 45 minutes and I'm like: this is the time I have, make it worth it. And it's really helped. At the moment, I'm preferring to sculpt and build muscle, so I'm definitely into weight lifting,” she told POPSUGAR.

5. Dance Based Workouts

Jenna.Dewan.1Jenna Dewan/Instagram

Jenna also loved danced-based workouts like Tracy Anderson. "With my career, there will be moments where they want a dance performance, so I end up back in the studio consistently, in different ways," she told POPSUGAR. For example, she learned to pole dance for her role in the movie "Let's Get Physical".

1. She Mixes Up Her Workouts

Jenna explains that her approach to fitness has changed over the past few decades and now in her 40s, “the focus is muscle training with Pilates, plus hiking with friends,” she said. “I’ve turned my garage into a gym. I do a lot of workouts off the Mirror [an interactive smart gym with real-time feedback] and I have a Soul Cycle bike. I also do regular privates over Zoom with my Pilates instructor, Kim Carruthers. She’s a secret weapon and how I keep my muscles where they should be.”

2. Exercise Helps with Her Anxiety

Premiere Of "L.O.L Surprise!"Steve Granitz/WireImage

Jenna is all about the mental health benefits of exercise. “Sometimes I’ll have gone a few days [without a workout] and I wonder, ‘Why do I feel a bit more anxious than normal?’ [Then I realize] ‘Oh wait, you haven’t moved your body.’ I had two cesareans and that period of time where you’re not really walking well is difficult; my focus was on just surviving and taking care of my beautiful babies. But when I start to feel anxious, my first check-in with myself is, ‘When have you moved your body recently?’”

3. She’s All About Self-Care

Jenna pays attention to her cues -- especially when she starts experiencing anxiety -- and acts accordingly with self-care. “The things that help me are working out, moving, dancing, walking, getting fresh air or even taking 10 minutes to go in another room, to do anything, something just for yourself. I am also a huge fan of baths at night. That really helps me, locking everyone out of the bathroom for a bath all to myself with my oil and my salts and music to relax.”

4. She Eats Healthy Most of the Time

Variety's Power Of Women: Los Angeles Event - ArrivalsJon Kopaloff/WireImage

In a previous interview with Us she revealed that she eats healthy, most of the time! “I believe in eating 80/20,” she explained. “I do 80 percent as healthy as possible — vegetarian and vegan, as healthy as I can.” She fuels up on nutritious foods like “lots of vegetables and lots of smoothies” most of the time, allowing herself a little room to cheat. “And then 20 percent I’m eating Mexican food if I want it,” she said. “You know, I’ve gotta be able to indulge and have a glass of wine and feel good in that way, so that helps me not be so strict and so focused in one way.”

5. She Drinks Hot Water with Lemon

She also starts her day off with hot water and lemon as well as supplements. “I love healthy living,” she said. “I’ve taken quite a lot of supplements, I make quite a lot of smoothies. I’m, like, really about trying to keep myself in balance and healthy as much as possible.”

Protein-Centric Diet

Daisy’s diet is focused around protein. A video on YouTube she revealed that she starts her day with a nutritious breakfast: Banana oat pancakes. She makes them with oats, bananas, and protein powder. Or she might have avocado toast, with bread, cumin, turmeric salt, butter, avocado, arugula, and blood orange. For lunch she eats two chicken tenders with one cup of rice and veggies. Daisy also gets her protein in by making herself a protein shake, which usually consists of vegan protein powder, almond milk, bananas, and blueberries. She also tries to swap out sugar with protein. “It helps me with how I feel in the morning,” she continued. “I don’t wake up sluggish.” She added that when she eats sugar at night she doesn’t want to wear a crop top in the morning. “I love feeling like I'm in good shape and want to show off my body.” She also has a trick for reducing caloric intake. “I eat just a little less, a healthy amount less.”

Cheating in Moderation

“I'm the type of person who gets super bored, so I have to switch everything up,” she added. She cheats but in moderation. A few of her favorite indulgences include Cadbury mini eggs, which she describes as being “the best in the world,” adding “I'm obsessed with them.” She also loves fried bananas.

Hiking and Walking

Daisy loves to hike. “Mountain girl,” she captioned a post from Sedona, Arizona. She also makes sure to get her steps in. “Morning walk,” she captioned another Instagram post. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Hot Tub Soaks

Daisy loves soaking in the hot tub, especially after a workout. If you don’t have access to a hot tub, just take a bath. They have been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits.

Strength Training

Daisy relies on strength training to keep her body sculpted. She regularly shares her workouts – like this “hourglass abs workout,” – on YouTube which she demonstrates on her YouTube channel. In it, she spends 10 minutes focused on the midsection with each minute devoted to a single exercise, starting with basic crunches, then bicycle kicks, jack knives, Russian twists, toe taps, bicycle crunches, scissor kicks, reverse crunches, and ending with butterfly kicks.According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Jenna Dewan works hard for her physique—but sometimes that drive backfires, as she highlighted in a video posted on social media. Dewan, 43, is seen working out in black leggings and a white crop top (so far so good), jumping onto a block. Somehow, during the jump, the dancer managed to break not only a nail but her hand. “And she kept working out 😯 #tbt to one of my more painful moments of 2023,” she captioned the video. Dewan has been in the public eye for over 20 years—here’s what her workouts and diet look like now.

1. She Loves Weights

Dewan is a dancer, but these days she is heavily into weight lifting (no pun intended). “I'm into variety, so I like to switch it up because I get bored easily,” she tells PopSugar. “Lately, I started with a trainer, which for me is new because I had been just doing Pilates or dance-based workouts or yoga. The trainer's been great for me. He's full-on — we're deadlifting, we're squatting. But I give him 45 minutes and I'm like: this is the time I have, make it worth it. And it's really helped. At the moment, I'm preferring to sculpt and build muscle, so I'm definitely into weight lifting. But I still love my Pilates. I still love my Tracy Anderson. I love yoga, whenever I get to it. And then I have a bike at home, like a cycling bike that I'll do. If I just don't have time, that's kind of what I get into.”

2. 80/20 Diet

Fresh,Celery,Smoothie,JuiceShutterstock

Dewan’s diet is mostly plant-based. “I've always been 'healthy,' but the last couple years we've been kind of all over the place. So I'm back on a health kick at the moment,” she tells PopSugar. “I've been vegan before and I kind of went vegetarian while pregnant. But I really like [to get] as much vegetables and greens as possible, and then add in on top of that. I try to do an 80-20, 80 percent really good for you, and 20 percent to enjoy what I want to enjoy. But right now, I've been in this cleanse stage, so in the mornings I like a green juice — like a celery juice or green smoothie — and I'll have a cup of coffee.”

3. Crystals and Connections

Dewan’s spiritual life is very important to her. "I definitely believe in the unseen and connective energy that we all can tune into," she tells Shape. "I love the feeling that nothing is random and that there is something greater than you and a connected force to the whole universe… I loved crystals, and I learned more about the properties of each crystal and the Feng Shui of where to put them in the house, and it just became almost a hobby."

4. Rest and Meditation

Dewan has learned how important it is to carve time out for self-care. "Rest is the hardest thing for me to come by, as I'm sure most people can relate, but I try to get as much as I can," she tells Shape. "Making time for myself within working, within family, within all of that is very, very important for me and not the easiest to do, but I make it a priority." "I go in and out of being a really great meditator and someone who does it when they can, but even just one meditation a day or every other day — as much as I can to keep my stress levels down — is really good for me.”

5. Financial Planning Skills

Dewan partnered with Wells Fargo bank to help working mothers understand their finances better. "Planning for the future, managing your financial health and well-being, all of that's been valuable and something I've had to learn," she tells Forbes. "I have an overall simplistic goal with budgeting things. I ask myself, what is an immediate necessary financial need? What is my overall for the year? What are my goals, and where am I trying to go? I try to have a bit of a general idea and a general budgeting plan. Then, I am open to flowing with that and figuring that out. But I definitely think it's about looking at things in the big picture and then the immediate image."

Anna Victoria is a fitness trainer and influencer. She recently shared some of her favorite workouts on Instagram. Victoria captioned the post, “Comment STRONG to join my 12 week Stronger You challenge… starting TOMORROW, January 6!! 💕I CAN’T WAIT for you all to see just how big of an impact focusing on STRENGTH makes on your progress. Like I said in the video, if focusing on being skinny hasn’t been working… why not try something different? Give me 12 weeks of @bodylura workouts and nutrition and watch the magic happen ✨💪”

She Isn't Pressuring Herself

Victoria opened up about her journey of losing pregnancy weight in this Instagram post. She says that she doesn’t want to pressure herself to lose weight. “I’m not putting pressure on myself to bounce back. But I AM focusing on being STRONG and improving my endurance when I can. Some weeks I’m killing it and other weeks… I’m fighting for dear life from the zillionth illness my daughter brought home from daycare 😅🫠 I’ve come to accept that colds and poor sleep are just a part of this season of life and I’m gonna get a workout in anyways.”

She Does Deadlifts

Anna Victoria is seen doing deadlifts.

Anna Victoria/Instagram

Victoria likes to do deadlifts to keep herself in shape. She is seen doing them in the previous Instagram video. NASM states that doing deadlifts can have a lot of benefits. “RDLs are commonly used to strengthen the posterior chain, using the core muscles to stabilize and the hamstrings and glutes to drive the movement.”

She's Consistent

Victoria makes sure to workout on a consistent basis. She revealed in this Instagram caption that one of her secrets for doing this is her approach. “I work out for health and strength. Any physical changes are just… a side effect. I’m not going to lie and say I don’t appreciate them. But if no physical change ever occurred, I would still be doing the same workouts because of the strength and energy they give me significantly improve my daily quality of life. I cannot stress enough how much I understand not feeling like you have time… or the energy to work out… or feeling like your genetics are against you... or feeling like it just isn’t *your thing* But it is. Stop putting yourself in a box and stop limiting yourself. You deserve this and you can do it.”

She Uses An Elliptical

Victoria is seen on an elliptical in this Instagram video. According to The Cleveland Clinic, using an elliptical can have a lot of benefits. “Elliptical trainer workouts help speed up your metabolism and burn calories, which can help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight. How many calories you burn on an elliptical machine depends on your weight plus workout length and intensity.”

She Lifts Weights

Victoria is also seen lifting weights in the previous Instagram video. According to ACE Fitness, these exercises have a lot of health benefits. “Using heavy weights increases intramuscular coordination, the number of type II motor units and the amount of muscle fibers engaged within a specific muscle. Have you ever felt your muscles shaking while lifting heavy weights? This is because you are recruiting and activating the larger type II muscle fibers, which are only stimulated to work when a muscle is challenged with heavy resistance or working to fatigue.”

Leonie Hanne is living her best life in Thailand – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the German model flaunts her fantastic figure in a $750 Missoni bathing suit while enjoying a boating day in the tropics. “She dreamed of a tropical adventure 🦋,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Stunning,” commented one of her followers. ”So beautiful,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Coffee

Leonie enjoys the perks of caffeine. In one of her posts from Thailand, she drinks a cup of coffee at the poolside. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Pilates

Leonie does Pilates at the super exclusive London studio Pilates in the Clouds. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress, and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

At-Home Workouts

Leonie tries to get a workout in daily, preferably in the morning. I still try to get up early to maintain a sense of routine. I start every day with a quick at-home workout and a homemade acai bowl, before starting work on emails and content creation. I’ve been getting really into TikTok lately, it’s funny and keeps me feeling energised!” she told Arcadia.

Community

It takes a village, according to Leonie. “Community is key! The people you surround yourself with are more important than ever, as we are all trying to find ways to stay connected without being physically present. Speaking to people either on the phone or through social media can shift your mindset and motivation more than ever before,” she says.

Small, Healthy Habits

Leonie focuses on maintaining small, healthy habits. “Do something every day that brings you joy. Even if that means having something small to look forward to, like having your favourite snacks around the house or changing into an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself,” she says.

Sophie Piper is embracing island life – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the Love Island beauty shows off her fantastic figure in a swimsuit during a tropical vacation at Kandima Maldives with Josh Ritchie. “Island life,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps taken at the picturesque resort. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do. When in reality it can be such a helpful tool and you can learn things that will actually encourage long term habits 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

She Loves Bananas

Tammy Hebrew has a banana snack.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying bananas in her “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic states that bananas have a lot of benefits. “A single medium-sized banana offers about 32 mg of the mineral magnesium, which fulfills around 8% to 10% of your daily magnesium requirement. Magnesium is involved in many processes in your body, including: Blood pressure. Blood sugar levels. Building proteins. Maintaining bone. Muscle function. Nerve function.”

She Loves Cottage Cheese

Tammy Hebrew's snack the contains banana and cottage cheese.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying her bananas with cottage cheese in the previous Instagram video. Cottage cheese is very healthy. UCLA Health reports, “Cottage cheese’s protein content and low calories make it an ideal food for weight management. Research shows that whether you are trying to lose weight or reduce your risk of overweight or obesity, eating a high-protein diet can help you feel full and satisfied for longer.”
