Jenna Dewan Poses In Two-Piece Workout Gear For "The Rookie"

Jenna Dewan has dazzled us in projects like Step Up, Witches Of East End, and Supergirl. She's currently playing Bailey Nune on ABC's The Rookie. In one episode of the show, Jenna and her castmates had to play football, and she rocked an adorable set of workout gear. Jenna shared some highlights from the shoot on Instagram, captioning it, "Channeled a bit of my dad (who fun fact was a star running back for Notre Dame!) in last week's episode 😅 Don't miss tonight's episode of @therookieabc !"
She Doesn't Diet
Jenna broke down her diet in an interview with People. She says that she doesn't believe in restricting herself, and indulges once in a while. "I'm not a fan of dieting, which is why I choose to eat healthy most of the time. I keep it in balance, so I don't have to crash diet. When I want to splurge I allow myself and don't beat myself up — I just make a plan to eat extra healthy the next day or work out."
She Eats A Lot Of Plant-Based Food
Jenna eats a lot of plant-based food in her diet. She explained why in her interview with People. "I also choose to eat plant-based foods because not only is it healthy and yummy, but I feel ethically right. We have become so off-balance with our animal consumption. Even one meatless meal a week helps!"
She Works With A Trainer
Jenna works with trainer, Jennifer Johnson, to keep herself in shape. Jenna talked about working with Jennifer in an interview with Health, as reported by SELF. "She's a trainer who is also a dancer and she makes it fun for me. If it's not fun, I won't go. We dance, we do routines for 45 minutes to an hour, whatever time we have."
She Does A Combination of Cardio and Conditioning
Jennifer shared what Jenna does to stay in shape in an interview with Heath, as reported by SELF. She says that Jenna's workout routine is mostly conditioning, with a bit of cardio. "She's a dancer, so you'd think that we'd do a ton of dance cardio. My method is usually half dance cardio, half muscle conditioning, but with Jenna it's more like one-quarter dance cardio and three-quarters muscle conditioning."
She Switches Up Her Workouts
Jennifer tells Health that she makes sure that Jenna doesn't get bored when they are doing sessions together. "If I feel like she's doing the same thing too much, that's when we abandon ship and do something different," Jennifer explained. "[We'll make changes like] adding ankle weights or using heavier ankle weights, using a different piece of equipment to hit the same body part, or holding things longer."
