Jenna Ortega Bares Shoulders in Dark Green Dress in Mexico City

At a "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" event, Ortega "cannot believe what just happened."

Jenna Ortega is getting into Beetlejuice Beetlejuice fashion – in a shoulder baring dress. At the Mexico City premiere of the film, the actress shows off her shoulder in a custom deep green gown designed by her stylist, Enrique Melendez, and Saudi Arabian label Lurline. "Te amo CDMX !! Still cannot believe what just happened, that was insanity You made my first time in Mexico City so so special. Muchas gracias," she captioned the series of Instagram snaps and videos. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Jenna told Women's Health that she enjoys strength training. "I love doing squats. I just feel so secure in what I'm doing and I just know that my form—if I'm lifting weights or something, I just know that my form is 100% correct because I know exactly what I'm doing. So that's become my favorite thing to train," she said. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Running

Jenna makes sure to take care of her legs. "I just feel like they've always been the strongest part of my body," she told Women's Health. Her go-to exercise for them? "I love to run. I loved to play soccer growing up." According to the Mayo Clinic, running is great for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. "For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories," they say.

Pescatarian

Jenna told Wired in December 2022 she used to be a vegan but gave it up during the shooting of Wednesday. "I was vegan for a really long time but I stopped being vegan when I went to Romania to shoot Wednesday actually because the food is very different there," she said. "I don't think I was meeting my nutritional requirements so I started eating fish again – so I'm currently pescatarian."

Jenna told The New York Times that she is obsessed with avocado rolls. "I went vegetarian, and any time people asked me what my favorite food was, I'm so indecisive I couldn't give them an answer. So I would say, 'Oh, I love avocados.' And people would say, 'But that's not a meal.' Well, I love sushi and I love avocados, and now it's my go-to. You know how kids always go with chicken tenders and French fries? Those are my chicken tenders and French fries," she shared.

Reading

Jenna is also a reader. She recently shared a stack of books. One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years compared with people who weren't readers or who read periodicals.
