Shearer has anxiety and suffers from panic attacks. She says how she is able to manage them on an episode of the Reflections podcast. “If I ever do have them, I know what to do. I know to be like, I actually had a little one the other day and I was like proud of myself, because my whole body didn't freeze. It was just one hand. I felt it coming. And I was like, ‘oh, oh no, I'm gonna have a panic attack.’ And I was in the car with someone, and I really didn't wanna freeze cause I'd be so embarrassed. So I was like doing my breathing. I managed to calm my breathing and do all of that.”

2. She Goes To The Beach

One way Shearer manages her anxiety is by going to the gym. She says on the Reflections podcast that exercise helps with her mental health. “I know if I'm having a low day or feeling anxious or anything, what would help me is going to the gym. Cause I love working out.”

3. She Writes Music

Shearer is a singer-songwriter. She says that writing music is very therapeutic for her. Shearer said on the Reflections podcast that writing helps with her anxiety. “I’ll go to try and write a song, because it's like getting all my emotions out there.”

I was training for Dancing On Ice and he is a really, really lovely man. He knew by me that I was going through a bit of a time of it. I remember him saying to me, ‘You need to take a break because if these brands and everyone really do want you then they will wait for you.’ So I took his advice and it’s the best thing I ever did. And I would give the same advice to all the new Love Islanders.”

Higgins tells The Independent that she has become a lot more comfortable with herself. “I am finally content. I am finally back to myself. Actually Mammy said it to me. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing].
