Jessica Alba is a successful actress. She is an action star, appearing in Dark Angel, the original Fantastic Four movies, and Spy Kids 4. Other roles of Alba’s include, Good Luck Chuck and The Secret World Of Alex Mack. Alba is also the founder of the Honest Company. She recently shared a video on Instagram of herself doing different exercises. Alba captioned the post, “#FitnessFriday.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Jessica Alba stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Runs On The Treadmill

Attractive,Young,Sports,Woman,Is,Working,Out,In,Gym.,work out, cardio, treadmillShutterstock

As you can see from her recent post, Alba uses a treadmill to stay in shape. HealthyTalbot.org states that using a treadmill has a lot of benefits. “Treadmills provide outstanding cardiovascular exercises, which can significantly enhance your heart health. Thanks to their ability to maintain constant heart rates throughout the exercise. If you’ve high cholesterol or cardiovascular issues, this can be very beneficial. They can help to diagnose cardiac issues like heart disease and artery blockages. Under normal circumstances, your body may not exhibit symptoms of these heart conditions. However, when put under pressure through a workout, those symptoms will be displayed. Treadmill working is an aerobic/ cardio exercise. Studies demonstrate that aerobic exercise can minimize the risk of heart diseases. Moreover, they can strengthen your heart muscles. This helps to lower blood pressure and allows the heart to pump blood more efficiently. Most doctors recommend aerobic exercise to people suffering from cardiovascular diseases.”

2. She’s Changed Her Mindset

In an interview with The Cut, Alba revealed that since having her kids, her approach to femininity has changed. “Before becoming a mom, my femininity was defined by society’s standards of what it means to be desirable to men. Now I understand what feeling powerful from a woman’s point of view means. It has nothing to do with whether someone desires you, it’s more about how connected you feel to yourself. You end up attracting people when you’re confident and you feel good in your skin. And that’s a by-product of being connected to your feminine energy.”

3. She Lifts Weights

Los,Angeles,-,Nov,12:,Jessica,Alba,Arrives,For,Baby2babyShutterstock

As you can see in her recent post, Alba likes to weight train. In it, she is seen doing shoulder presses with dumbbells. Beaumont.org states that weight training has a lot of benefits. “Strength training helps you lose weight and keep it off by building muscle tissue. The more muscle mass you have, the higher your metabolic rate tends to be. More muscle also helps your body burn more fat than muscle, which is important if you want to lose weight and keep your strength. So, if you build muscle, you can speed up your metabolism and burn more fat when you exercise. The faster your body burns calories, the more calories it will burn each day. Since the formula for weight loss is to burn more calories than you consume, increasing the calories you burn will help you lose weight (given you don’t increase your calories). To maximize the benefits of strength training, you should try to do some sort of strength training for an hour three to five times per week.”

4. She Takes Care Of Her Skin

Jessica,Alba,Attends,The,16th,Annual,God's,Love,We,DeliverShutterstock

Alba has amazing skin, and shared some of her secrets with Byrdie. “I cleanse at night, and I like to use a more creamy, foaming cleanser. Our sensitive skin one is my favorite. It has prebiotics in it, so it smells a little funky (a little bit like that yogurt smell). But there's no fragrance in it, and it really is quite nourishing. I like to use our serum—I use the Honest Resurfacing Serum ($30). Then sometimes, I'll layer a moisturizing serum—I've been doing that lately on top of that. At night, I'll use the Calm and Heal Melting Balm ($33), and then I'll use the Calm and Renew Eye Balm ($28) around my eyes, and then the Gloss-C ($15) on my lips.”

5. She Loves Coconut Water

Alba makes sure to stay hydrated, and when she feels thirsty, she often reaches for coconut water. “I got into hot yoga, and you sweat so much and you lose so much water, so you can get dehydrated,” she explained to Byrdie. “I really love the health benefits that come with coconut water. I think the thing that makes Zico different from other coconut waters is it’s not from concentrate; there’s no added sugar. And it tastes like kind of a treat because it’s sweet. I don’t drink a ton of other types of drinks. I drink coffee, tea, and coconut water—that’s it.”

Jessica Alba is turning 43 this April 28 and is quite possibly in the best shape of her life thanks to her longtime trainer, Ramona Braganza. In a new interview with Celebwell, Braganza, who has been training the Sin City star since she was 17, reveals the workout method responsible for her amazing figure and discusses how her workouts have evolved since she turned the big 4-oh.

Alba.1_2e920aJessica Alba/Instagram

Jessica sticks with Braganza’s 321 Training Method, created specifically for the actress. “I developed it when Jessica Alba and I were shooting many films on location so I needed something effective, requiring minimal equipment, flexible whether you have 20 minutes, half an hour, or a full hour to train,” she tells Celebwell.

2. Three Cardio Exercises

Alba.5Jessica Alba/Instagram

The workout starts with three cardio exercises. “An example of cardio could be either treadmill, spinning, or dance.

3. Two Circuits

Alba.2_1eaec7Jessica Alba/Instagram

Next up, the 2, which translates to two circuits. “Usually it’s three in a row exercises that train specific body parts on different days,” Braganza tells us.

4. One Part Core

Alba.6Jessica Alba/Instagram

Then, one part core. “Twisting moves target obliques and transverse, the muscle that cinches in the waist,” are an exercise that Jess demonstrates in a recent workout video.

5. Jessica Also Meditates Before and After Workouts

Braganza also reveals that her sessions with Jess have evolved over time. “Our workouts have become more of a mind body spirit evolution as Jess is now in her 40s which includes meditation before we train that raises our vibrations to give us a positive mindset and finishes with a gratitude meditation,” she says.

6. See the Workout Here

“Long before there was Orange Theory there was the 321Training method a program I designed that had 3 intervals of cardio , 2 circuits of strength training and finished with 1 core at the end,” Braganza adds in a recent Instagram video with Jess demonstrating the moves. . “It was a workout I based on my clients needs to lose weight and build muscle tissue for shapely but lean bodies. I used this workout with @jessicaalba on the various films we worked on including Dark Angel, Into the Blue and Fantastic Four. The workout became a downloadable program offering a variety of exercises that work effectively whether you have 20 minutes half an hour or an hour.”

The American College of Sports Medicine recommends three sets of 8 to 12 repetitions three times per week.”

5. She Uses A Stair Climber

Murillo likes to do a lot of stair workouts to stay in shape. One thing she likes to do is use a stair climber. Murillo shared this video on Instagram of herself doing so. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.

She’s Consistent

Last year, Culpo was preparing for her wedding. She told E! News that she made sure to be consistent with her wellness in order to prepare. “Really trying to dial in [on] what I eat, how I workout, the workouts that I do. Trying to get them in consistently because you only get married once and I want to feel my best. But this past season it was just hard being so far away from my normal routine and where I typically live."

She Keeps Her Skin Healthy While Traveling

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

She Uses Products With Vitamins

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

She Packs Healthy Snacks

Culpo makes sure to eat healthy. She shared some of the snacks she packs with her with Travel + Leisure. "I love the Kind bars. I love any sort of nuts, to be honest with you. They are a go-to snack for me. I would say Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and some almonds would be perfect! Also, electrolytes to stay hydrated or some sort of collagen beauty powder or something."

Abigail Ratchford’s amazing body has helped her become one of the most famous models on the internet. The 32-year-old, who boasts over 9.1 million followers on Instagram alone, attributes her measurement-defying body to a few simple habits. Here is everything she does to stay fit at 32.

She Follows 4 Diet Rules

Abigail swears that abiding by simple rules helps her stay in shape. “I can’t diet. That just doesn’t work for me,” she told New Beauty. “I started to be healthier by first cutting out soda. Then, I stopped eating after 7 p.m. Finally, I started really watching my portions so I was eating fewer calories every day. And water—lots and lots of water.”

She UsesMyFitnessPal

Abigail explains being accountable for what she eats is crucial. While it’s not “rocket science,” she does use the MyFitnessPal app to track her eating. “I’m the type of person who likes to eat what I want. The app can help anyone do that—you can still eat great food, you just eat less of it,” she added New Beauty.

Pilates

Abigail is a fan of Pilates. “Group workout classes are so big right now, but I always get nervous around other people in settings like that. I have to go at my own pace without a bunch of distractions so, for me, Pilates with a one-on-one instructor works best. It’s not cheap, but then you also aren’t tempted to skip,” she said She added to Men’s Fitness via Muscle & Fitness that the workout “keeps you long and lean” — and the Mayo Clinic agrees. They say it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Balanced Diet

“I love green juices and smoothies. Sometimes I’ll put some protein powder in the morning—I feel like the mix of vegetables, and vitamins and stuff that’s in them, really gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I love BBQ food—my ultimate cheat is a pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and macaroni and cheese from this great place in LA,” she told Men’s Fitness.

Ratchford also lifts weights. “Initially, I made the mistake that a lot of girls do and I was only doing cardio. I just really didn’t see too much change in my body. Develop strong bones

Manage your weight

Enhance your quality of life

Manage chronic conditions

Sharpen your thinking skills
