Jessica Alba is an actress and a phenomenal entrepreneur. She’s known for her roles in Dark Angel, Good Luck Chuck, and Fantastic Four. She recently shared some highlights from a trip to the Cenotes on Instagram. In them, she and some friends went swimming. Alba captioned the post, “A glimpse into the most magical afternoon visiting the cenotes.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Jessica Alba stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She’s All About Self-Care

Alba talked about the importance of self-care in an interview with InStyle. "I think self-care is interesting. I think it's important whether you're a mom or not. And I think creating a way to preserve your time and really it's really forcing that sacred time that you need to just ground yourself and center yourself. Even just spending three minutes breathing and focusing on air that's coming into your nose and out of your mouth is so important. I didn't realize how important that self-care was and carving out that time."

2. She Gets Enough Sleep

Alba shared her secrets for getting enough sleep in an interview with Shape Magazine. "Sleep is the foundation; a good night's sleep is your chance for your body to repair itself and start your day on the right foot," she says. “The key [to a good night's sleep] is being disciplined about not being on my devices at least 30 minutes before bed. Doing things that bring you calm and relaxation as part of your night time ritual is super important.”

3. She’s Comfortable With Herself

Alba talked about her journey to finding confidence in her body in an interview with Cosmopolitan. "It's certainly been a journey to become this body confident. As a teenager - and even in my 20s - I always saw the negative and didn't focus on the positive, and then I felt like being part of something so life-altering and profound like having a child just made me feel differently about it all. I also thought 'how do I want my girls to feel about their bodies?' I don't want them to have certain hang-ups, so my attitude to myself shifted.”

4. She Does A Variety Of Workouts

Alba shared her fitness secrets with Shape Magazine. She says that she likes to do a lot of different things. "I try to work out with Ramona [Braganza, her longtime trainer] when I can, but we keep my fitness routine flexible — I'm not overly stringent with it. I'll rotate strength training, dancing, cycling, yoga, and walking. Mixing it up makes it easier for me to stick with it."

5. She Boosts Her Mood

Alba shared her favorite ways to boost her mood in her Shape interview. “It's also important to support your mood because we live in such a high stress world and in my opinion, health and happiness go hand in hand. Meditation helps tremendously. Going on a short walk, listening to upbeat music, looking at photos that bring you joy, or calling a loved one or someone that makes you laugh are also helpful for getting out of a funk."

1. She Does Cardio Circuits With A Trainer

Alba’s trainer, Ramona Braganza, broke down the actress’ typical workout to Pop Workouts. A majority of Alba’s fitness is broken into circuits, and contains exercises like dumbbell bench presses and ab crunches. Braganza explained this decision to the website by saying, “Taking the boredom factor out of the thirty minutes of cardio, I broke the time into a 3 X 10-minute segments of speed and grade changes.”

2. She Does A Different Set of Exercises Each Day

According to Pop Workouts, Alba does a different set of exercises for each of the five days of the work week. For example, on Mondays, Alba will do V-Ups, twisting planks, and bicycle crunches. While on Wednesdays, Alba does stair climbing and dumbbell rows.

3. She Alternates Between Upper and Lower Body Days

According to Pop Workouts, Alba will alternate between working out her upper body and her lower body. This ensures that she targets each area of her body. Alba will do upper body workouts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and will do lower body exercises on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

4. She Sticks To The Basics

Alba’s trainer, Ramona Braganza, revealed that the actress likes to do basic exercises, and avoids using gym machines. “This has been Jessica’s preferred method of training. Sticking to the basics, using compound exercises, alternating upper and lower body, and natural alternatives to cardio machines, such as climbing stairs, jumping rope, or jogging.” Braganza says this helps Alba stay in shape with her traveling and busy schedule.

5. She’s A Free-Diver

In a photo series detailing her summertime fun on Instagram, Alba revealed that she is a free-diver. The first photo in the series shows Alba deep in the clear ocean. She captioned the photo, “Last #photodump of the summer! Got to do a little free diving in Mexico.”

Jessica Alba is dancing in her swimsuit. In a new social media post the 43-year-old actress looks half her age in a black bikini, dancing to Charli XCX’s Apple. “I heard it’s a #brat summer 💚,” she captioned the Instagram Reel. “Absolutely stunning,” commented one of her followers. “Lovely 😍,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. Ramona Braganza’s 321 Method

Jessica is a big fan of her longtime trainer Ramona Braganza’s 321 Training Method, created specifically for the actress. “I developed it when Jessica Alba and I were shooting many films on location so I needed something effective, requiring minimal equipment, flexible whether you have 20 minutes, half an hour, or a full hour to train,” the celebrity trainer tells Celebwell.

2. Hiking

Alba mixes up her workouts so she doesn’t get bored. Braganza told Harper’s Bazaar that they sometimes hike together. “Sometimes when the gym is absolutely not what Jessica wants, we will go outside and walk the hills near her home.”

3. Three Cardio Exercises, Two Circuits, One Core Exercise

The 3-2-1 Method starts with three cardio exercises. “An example of cardio could be either treadmill, spinning, or dance. Next up, the 2, which translates to two circuits. “Usually it’s three in a row exercises that train specific body parts on different days,” Braganza tells us. Then, one part core. “Twisting moves target obliques and transverse, the muscle that cinches in the waist,” are an exercise that Jess demonstrates in a recent workout video.

4. Meditation Before and After Workouts

Young,Latin,Woman,Practicing,Meditation,Indoors.Shutterstock

Braganza reveals that Jessica gets her zen on before and after her workouts. “Our workouts have become more of a mind body spirit evolution as Jess is now in her 40s which includes meditation before we train that raises our vibrations to give us a positive mindset and finishes with a gratitude meditation,” she says.

5. Confidence In Herself

“Before becoming a mom, my femininity was defined by society’s standards of what it means to be desirable to men,” Jessica told The Cut. “Now I understand what feeling powerful from a woman’s point of view means. It has nothing to do with whether someone desires you, it’s more about how connected you feel to yourself. You end up attracting people when you’re confident and you feel good in your skin. And that’s a by-product of being connected to your feminine energy.”

1. Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner covered i-D magazine in a pink bathing suit this week. When it comes to wellness, Jenner says that getting enough sleep is important for her, especially before a job. She says she needs seven or eight hours “to function.” “Create a room that's ideal for sleeping. Often, this means cool, dark and quiet. Exposure to light might make it more challenging to fall asleep. Avoid prolonged use of light-emitting screens just before bedtime. Consider using room-darkening shades, earplugs, a fan or other devices to create an environment that suits your needs,” says the Mayo Clinic. “Doing calming activities before bedtime, such as taking a bath or using relaxation techniques, might promote better sleep.”

2. Melissa Gorga

Melissa Gorga shared this beach photo on Instagram with her fellow Real Housewives of New Jersey stars. When it comes to her diet, Gorga says that she doesn't like to do restrictive diets. "I never do fad diets," she says Women’s Health. "I feel like I do a lot better with my own routine. It’s worked for me forever." Gorga also says that she prioritizes consistency with her diet and exercise. "I feel better when I eat healthy. If I don’t work out for a week or two, I feel miserable."

3. Joey King

Actress Joey King posed by a waterfall in Costa Rica this week. When it comes to wellness, specifically her diet, King says to New Potato, that she tries to be healthy, but doesn’t drive herself crazy over it. “As far as diet and exercise go, I try to eat as healthfully as possible, but I don't make myself crazy. If I'm craving a piece of bread or a bowl of pasta, sometimes I just need to listen to my body and indulge."

4. Leah McSweeney

Leah McSweeney shared a swimsuit snap from a trip to Jamaica this week. She revealed to Yahoo Life that she decided to get sober at the beginning of the pandemic. "I realized that it was gonna just go so dark so quick," she says. "…It's very hard to drink in a light and fun way during a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic when you’re stuck at home, and people are dying everywhere. So yeah, I think that that kind of definitely put it in a full-speed stop."

5. Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba shared several beach and swimsuit photos on Instagram. When it comes to working out, Alba tells Marie Claire that she likes to use fitness apps and videos to stay in shape. “I downloaded a few apps and I'll watch YouTube videos of different fitness folks. So I signed up to [the Equinox+] app and they do meditation, they do yoga, strength training. They have all those things and you can keep track of your health.”

6. Nicole Scherzinger

Singer Nicole Scherzinger posted a photo on Instagram of herself enjoying a margarita in a pink bikini. When it comes to her diet, she tells Women’s Health that she believes in moderation. “Don't deprive yourself of anything because eventually you'll crave it and then you might binge on it. Everything in moderation.”

7. Jordana Brewster

Actress Jordana Brewster posed in front of the mirror in an olive green one-piece swimsuit. Brewster broke down some of her favorite workouts to NewBeauty. She says that she does a lot of work on the treadmill. “I like interval training on the treadmill—side shuffles, walking at a fast pace on an incline and running.”

8. Ayesha Curry

Ayesha Curry posted a photo on Instagram of herself posing in a blue swimsuit, while enjoying the pool. Curry told Women’s Health that she believes in moderation, saying, “I'm not a dieter. For me, it was really about learning how to exercise portion control and living that 80/20 life."

9. Alessandra Ambrosio

Alessandra Ambrosio posed in a blue polka dot bikini in the ocean on her Instagram story this week. "I've been doing a lot of Tracy Anderson now, and it's a lot of dancing cardio, and I love it. I'm obsessed with it,” she told E! News. “I have the best time, because the music is really loud and you don't really feel like you're working out. You feel like you're dancing and learning this cool dance move.”

10. Gabby Allen

Gabby Allen posed in a black bikini in an outdoor jacuzzi on Instagram, where she didn’t let the cold environment stop her from showing skin. Allen has gorgeous skin and hair, and she tells Women Fitness that she believes her diet helps keep them that way. “I preach that at least 2 liters of water a day will help to nourish your skin and hair. And I minimise dairy products and refined sugar. I also try and have as many red skinned fruits and veg in my diet as I believe it helps with healthy skin tone!”

1. Strength Over Looks

Alba increasingly focuses on strength and health over appearance. “As I’ve gotten older and after I became a mom, it became more of a priority to be healthy for the right reasons,” she says. “It’s more important to have a balanced approach instead of trying to be perfect.”

2. Hot Yoga

Alba has been practicing yoga for years, and likes to mix it up. Aside from traditional yoga, she enjoys more high-energy versions. “Hot Power Flow Yoga, [which is like] bootcamp mixed with hot yoga … [with] good fast paced dance music [and] … a little of everything. It’s my new jam!” she says.

4. Family Walks

2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Radhika Jones - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Alba enjoys family walks with her children, setting a good example for them through her own habits. “If I’m not going to sweat I go for a walk for an hour and a half [with the girls],” she says. “I’m not so much into preaching, more into practicing. I like to swim with them, go on family walks. The kids like it too, they go crazy, bouncing off the walls if I keep them inside. They’ll throw balls around, and I’m going, ‘You can’t throw balls in the house! That’s our lamp!'”

5. Self-Care

Alba starts the day with some gentle self-care. “In the mornings, I put on a face mask and a thick swipe of lip balm so I can be under this layer of hydration while I’m getting my coffee,” she says. “My son is always like, ‘Mommy, what’s that?’ Every time he looks over at me when I’ve got the mask on, it’s like he’s seeing me for the first time. But it reminds me that I’m allowed to take care of myself as well. It’s a little bit of tender loving care to start the day.”

Over the past few years, Sydney Sweeney has become one of America’s sweethearts with celebrated roles in everything from hit HBO shows Euphoria and White Lotus to big-screen movies Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Anyone But You. In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
