Another thing Braganza does with Alba is mix up the workouts she does. “To keep the workouts interesting for Jess, I mix up the strength training exercises in a variety of ways,” Braganza told Women’s Health. “Sometimes it’s reps and others it’s timings.” Doing a variety of workouts has a lot of benefits. Ace Fitness reports, “Many individuals need to push themselves to new levels and try different activities to stay enthusiastic and excited about their workouts. By varying their exercise routines, individuals can not only stay physically challenged, but mentally stimulated as well.”

3. She Walks

Alba likes to walk to stay in shape. “Sometimes when the gym is absolutely not what Jessica wants, we will go outside and walk the hills near her home,” Bragaza told Women’s Health. The Mayo Clinic states that walking has a lot of benefits. “The faster, farther and more frequently you walk, the greater the benefits. For example, you may start out as an average walker, and then work your way up to walking faster and walking a mile in a shorter amount of time than an average walker, similar to power walkers. This can be a great way to get aerobic activity, improve your heart health and increase your endurance while burning calories.”

4. She Makes Protein Shakes

Alba shared some of her diet and exercise secrets with Byrdie. “I like to make a protein shake,” she says. “And I make sure there’s plenty of fat in there with almond butter. Then I’ll use Zico coconut water. Depending on whether or not I want a chocolate one or plain one, sometimes I’ll put fruit in it. The kids love it! I like to get them shakes so I can get some protein in them. Chocolate, coconut, almond butter shakes with banana butter!”

5. She Loves Coconut Water

Alba makes sure to stay hydrated, and she tells Byrdie that she’s a big fan of coconut water. “I got into hot yoga, and you sweat so much and you lose so much water, so you can get dehydrated. I really love the health benefits that come with coconut water. I think the thing that makes Zico different from other coconut waters is it’s not from concentrate; there’s no added sugar. And it tastes like kind of a treat because it’s sweet. I don’t drink a ton of other types of drinks. I drink coffee, tea, and coconut water—that’s it.”

I kind of like to cook anything depending on the weather.”

I prefer it mixed in with light weights, so like a sculpting hot yoga class. I’ll always work out with a friend because it’s more fun.”
