The star is returning to music this year.

This year, Jessica Simpson made her long-awaited return to music. In March, she released an EP, Nashville Canyon, Part 1, and has released songs like "Leave" and "Use My Heart Against Me." A recent Instagram post of Jessica's has her fans thinking that a music video is on the way. In it, Jessica posed in different outfits on a set, including a two-piece outfit. She captioned the post, "Put your hands on my hips. Put your honey on my lips. Ima gonna climb on up and show you my world." Here are 5 of Jessica's wellness secrets.

1

She Sets Goals

Jessica has been open about her weight loss journey in the past. After having her third child in 2019, she revealed that she set small goals to help her lose that weight. "I call it determined patience," Jessica said to The Real, as reported by Entertainment Tonight. "I believe in setting small goals for yourself, because in my life and how I've done it, there's easy ways to throw in the towel and just feel like it's impossible. So, the small goals for me are what helped me achieve the main goal."

She Journals

One way Jessica manages her mental health is by journaling and writing. She opened up about writing her memoir Open Book to Entertainment Tonight. "Whether I was mad at myself in a moment, whether I was heartbroken, whether I was confused, I just think owning all of those emotions on paper and confronting them is so important. My only competition is with myself, and that is actually the toughest competitor… We have this life, right? So you might as well live every day as good as you can."

She Doesn't Care About Her Weight

When it comes to weight loss, Jessica tells Entertainment Tonight that she doesn't care about the number on the scale. "I have to rid myself of measuring up to what weight I should be because I've had so many people tell me what weight I need to be," she explained. "I think it's really about how you feel. But if you're in the process, it's about sticking with it. It doesn't happen overnight. You have to be patient with yourself, you have to be kind to yourself, you have to love yourself, flaws and all."

4

She Owns Her Past

In her memoir, Jessica talked about her journey to give up alcohol. She tells Entertainment Tonight that she feels less ashamed about her past since opening up. "If we admit to it and own it, I feel like it makes life, and choices, and everything so much easier… I feel like now, since the memoir has been out, I have never felt more of myself. It gave me permission to be who I am."

Jessica is one of the many clients of celebrity personal trainer, Harley Pasternaak. Harley praised Jessica in this Instagram post's caption. "Beyond proud of this incredible woman. Been working together for over 12 years and she's always the most warm, sweet, polite, and respectful person in the world. And on top of it all, after being nonstop pregnant for as long as I can remember, she's down 100 pounds and looks younger today than she was when we met."
