Here’s how she stays in shape.

Joanna Gaines / Instgram

Joanna Gaines isn’t just redesigning homes—she’s redesigning her fitness journey. The Fixer Upper star and Magnolia mogul has been hitting the gym with her husband, Chip, and the results are speaking for themselves. In a recent Instagram post, Gaines shared how she went from struggling with push-ups to knocking out 50 in a single session. Dressed in a sleek two-piece workout set, she radiated strength and confidence, proving that it's never too late to commit to your health. Ready to see how she stays in top shape? Here’s what’s working for her.

She Works With A Trainer

As you can see in her Instagram post, Gaines works with a personal trainer to keep herself in shape. ACE Fitness says that doing this has a lot of benefits. “Most of us work harder in the presence of others. Having a trainer by your side can provide the encouragement, energy and motivation you need to jumpstart your routine. A trainer can also help you set goals, create a plan to accomplish them and celebrate the day you reach them.”

She’s Consistent

Gaines and her husband are consistent when it comes to working out. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram video. “For the first time in our marriage, Chip and I decided to work out together. We started working w/ our friend @donsaladino in September and when he asked me to do push-ups on our first day I said, ‘I can't. My back.’ A few months in and I've never felt stronger. Today I did FIFTY push-ups! So I'm celebrating and putting this out there... I've let time, age, injury, and busyness be my excuse of why not to workout. I'm finally over the ‘it's too hard’ hump and I'm ready to go! Who's with me?!”

She Does Push-Ups

Gaines does push-ups to keep herself in shape. Harvard Health says that these have a lot of health benefits. “The push-up engages your body from top to bottom. It works several muscle groups at once: the arms, chest, abdomen (core), hips, and legs. Push-ups also can be modified as needed.”

She Eats A Balanced Diet

Gaines opened up about her diet in an interview with Health. She says that she likes to eat a balanced diet. “For the most part, I just try to eat a lot of protein during the day, and then not too many carbs or I will crash and not make it. So, I think just drinking a lot of water and being conscious of what I’m putting in my body and being conscious of what I’m doing to relieve stress, like walking and exercising, trying to find that balance.”

She Loves Veggies

Gaines and her family eat a lot of veggies. She shares a lot of posts on Instagram of herself using fresh produce. Gaines shared this photo of a basket of broccoli florets. She captioned it, “I wonder if I dip these in chocolate maybe the kids will eat them... 😉” Gaines also posted this photo of herself with a basket of vegetables, and captioned it, “Monday morning harvest 😍 (fairytale eggplant, yellow and green jalapeños, cherry tomatoes).”

These last few weeks have been filled with pushing myself both mentally and physically, I really didn’t know if I could do it. But I have learnt every time I take on a new challenge I get far more back in return. I pretty much smiled my way around the 26.2 miles yesterday. NYC crowds are just sooooo incredible. I wanna say a huge thankyou to the number of strangers who cheered me on as well as my incredible friends who gave me so much energy! Feeling very proud and very grateful to @newbalance x @bambambaklava and especially @austinbensmith who assured me I could do it when I almost pulled out. 🩵”

The Columbia Association states that tennis has a lot of benefits. “Tennis is an excellent full-body workout that releases feel-good endorphins to help you relax and relieve tension. Its low-impact nature also means your joints and bones will thank you.”

She Hikes

Just spent the last two weeks off the grid exploring the Grand Canyon - traveling down the Colorado river, white water rafting and camping with a group of 15 of us. It was already a scary trip for me as I have never done anything like this but an extra challenge from having fractured my wrist 3 weeks before! But the challenges made it 100 x more rewarding! Will share some pictures to try and show you just how incredible the Grand Canyon is 🙌🏽 Very proud of myself for doing it and grateful to be one of the few people who get to see this part of the world in this way!”

And, according to her followers, she is teasing a new single, Been Like This, from her upcoming album. How does the mother-of-two stay fit? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. She “Worked Every Day” to Lose Her Baby Weight

Spotlight: Meghan TrainorRebecca Sapp/Getty Images

Meghan revealed to Entertainment Tonight Canada that when she gave birth to her first son Riley, she was at her “heaviest” and it impacted her emotionally and physically. “I was my heaviest I've ever been, I was like over 200 pounds when I C-sectioned him out. I just wasn't feeling great”’ she said. “I've never had stitches, so to have this C-section scar, I was in a really dark place and I wanted to be in a great place for my son,” she added. To lose the weight, “I worked every day and challenged myself,” she continued. “I was like, ‘If I can survive a C-section, I can do anything!’ I was very dedicated, and I started seeing the pounds come off like one week at a time, one pound… I learned that I do like healthy food and I learned what portions mean. And I learned my brain is so happy when I exercise, so I’m just [feeling] better than ever.”

2. Her Son Motivates Her

Her biggest motivation to get into shape was her son. “I want to run and keep up with my kid. I want to be able to put on a bathing suit and run out there and not be in my head about it. And I want to climb up a treehouse with him,” she told PEOPLE. “I've lost all the baby weight and 10 extra lbs., so I'm just going to keep going and do this for my younger self.”

3. She Lost One Pound Per Week

Goal,Weight,Date,On,CalendarShutterstock

Megan told PEOPLE that she had a slow and steady approach to weight loss. “I did it the healthy way, the long way, the one pound a week way. And it's a proud accomplishment that I never thought I could ever do,” she said.

4. She Works Out with a Person Trainer

Meghan has been working with Rebecca Stanton (@rebeccabroxfit) for years. The two do everything from simple strength and weight training to HIIT style workouts.

5. Her Husband Is Her Workout Buddy and Fitspiration

In 2018, Meghan told Entertainment Tonight that her husband, Daryl Sabara, is her workout buddy. “He really changed my life. He showed me how working out can be fun. I didn't believe it, but now it's true and it feels so good when you're sore -- I love that feeling now, I'm addicted to it,” she said. “He cooks for me and taught me to cook. I never knew how to cook. He taught me, like, secrets how to make your food taste great but also be healthy for you.”

6. She Eats Smaller Portions

Meghan maintains that it isn’t just what she eats – but how much of it – that is crucial to weight loss. “I learned what portions mean. I was very dedicated and I started seeing the pounds come off like one week at a time,” she said.

Melissa Alcantara is celebrating getting older – in her workout gear. In a new social media post the fitness trainer who helped Kim Kardashian get into her best shape ever via bodybuilding shows off her amazing body in a two-piece exercise set. “I’m going to be 40 soon and I’m feeling freer in so many ways…I know more of what I want. I’m less and less afraid to think about me first. I speak up more. Your best life doesn’t always need a plan, It just requires the courage to say ‘that chapter is closed. Let’s start a new one.’ What’s your next chapter going to be?” she captioned the Instagram post. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Struggled with Her Weight and Had Unhealthy Habits

In an interview with Joe Wicks Melissa reveals she was an “unfit, super broke” waitress living in Brooklyn, who gained 70 pounds while pregnant. “My entire life I’d been yo-yo dieting,” she said. “I always had low self-esteem. I was big, then small, then chunky. I would starve myself. I didn’t do it the right way.”

She Drinks Coffee and Meditates

Melissa starts her day at 4am with a cup of coffee and a meditation from her favorite book, Living a Life of Awareness: Daily Meditation on the Toltec Path, which helps her “start the day off right.” “When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress,” says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality

She's Recently Debunked

Melissa recently debulked her body. “No matter what I do I will always have an athletic build, it’s just the way I am naturally (genetics),” she wrote in a post, revealing what she did over two years to slim down to 140-pound figure. “Lift 3-4 times a week, not 6 like I used to,” she revealed. The second thing Melissa did to bulk down? “Not lift as heavy,” she writes, “mostly with upper body exercises,” she says. She also put more of a “focus on lower body exercises,” she writes. “I’m way more muscular upper body.”

She Chose Herself

Melissa took charge of her life, starting with waking up at 5am every day to exercise. “It morphed from me just wanting to have abs to me saying ‘yes’ to myself, choosing myself, and putting love into myself every single day,” she told Women’s Health. “And that was a whole new ball game for me.’”

She Changed Lifestyle Habits

As for her diet, Mel changed it up. “Eat intuitively, lots of rice and chicken and some drinks here and there,” she says. “More resting and sleeping and less stress,” also helped Mel achieve her body goals, she writes. “Basically, I’m just living life doing other things than lifting weights and being in the gym,” she concludes.

1. She Worked “Hard” For Her Body

In the new Instagram post, Jana explains that it isn’t a “thirst trap” photo, or an “I want attention post” or a “post to make you compare your body to mine,” but is more about her feeling proud of her body. “Because when I look at this photo, I see strength. If I’m honest, I lost a little too much weight after my divorce, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the number I saw. But that’s an unhealthy way to look at it. It should never be about the number. It should be about how you feel,” she explained. “I have been actively becoming strong again for me. I look at this pic now and I’m proud of myself for the hard work and commitment to loving myself. This body made two beautiful humans. I’m proud of my body." She mentioned feeling even better after her breast augmentation and promoted Natrelle Breast Augmentation.

2. She Works Out with a Trainer

In a recent Instagram story, she revealed that they pretty much follow Oprea’s Pretty Muscles app workouts. “I work out with Erin two times a week,” she explained. The duo do “a ton of squats, sumo squats, lunges.”

3. Running Helped Her “Lean Out”

4. She Is Proud of Her Body

Jana’s go to diet rule? “I personally think everything in moderation,” she revealed. “I had a chocolate chip cookie last night. I will eat another one tonight. I don’t think you should deprive yourself of anything. I think, eat when you are hungry. But all-around diet is how I do it.”

5. Exercise Boosts Her Mental Health

“Still not feeling 100 percent,” Jana explained earlier this year in an Instagram story video. “But I'm still going to run it out, sweat it out." She once explained to Us Weekly that the mental health benefits of exercise are a motivating factor. “Working out for me is my sanity…Even just going for a walk, that is a place where I come back and I'm like, 'I feel good, I feel balanced. Working out is 100% how I stay level."

Hollywood has always put intense pressure on celebrities to stay in shape, and with the rise of weight loss medications like Ozempic and Mounjaro, many stars have turned to these drugs for help. Originally developed to treat diabetes, these medications have become a popular option for those struggling to shed extra pounds. Some have raved about the results, crediting the medication with curbing cravings and making weight management easier. Others had a different experience, seeing little to no change or dealing with unexpected side effects.

Weight loss has always been a hot topic, but these drugs have sparked a bigger conversation about body image, health, and the lengths people go to in order to feel their best. Celebrities have been especially vocal, sharing their successes, frustrations, and everything in between. Some saw major transformations, while others realized these medications weren’t the right fit. These nine stars have spoken openly about their experiences, offering a glimpse into what worked, what didn’t, and how these drugs have changed the weight loss landscape.

Kandi Buruss

Singer and Real Housewives of Atlanta star talked about her experience with taking Ozempic with People. “Last year, I tried it,” she told the outlet. “I saw so many people who were trying it and losing weight. So I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to try this.’ And I didn’t lose any weight…My doctor was like, ‘I don’t know what the problem is, I’m not seeing this in other people.’ It didn’t curb my appetite. I know some people are like, ‘Oh, I can’t eat.’ Not me! I was eating appetizers, a regular meal and dessert, okay? It didn’t stop anything for me.” Buruss says that she decided to get off of it and use Hydroxycut, eat better, and workout more to lose weight.

Caroline Stanbury

Caroline Stanbury starred on both Ladies of London and The Real Housewives of Dubai. On an episode of her podcast, she talked about her success with Ozempic. “After 40, we all know, it’s very, very hard to lose weight. But I met so many 40-year-old women going, ‘How have you done it?’ And I don’t want to lie to you … I used Ozempic, which I think is one of the best tools if you’re able to use it. What did Kate Moss say? ‘Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.’ There’s something to be said for that.”

Harvey Fierstein

Harvey Fierstein is a successful actor and playwright, best known for his role in Hairspray. Fierstein revealed to Page Six that his weight loss secret is using Zepbound. “I’ve been skinny before, that’s the sad part,” he said. “I’ve been skinny, I’ve been fat, I’ve been skinny, I’ve been fat. What’s different is what the drug actually does for you which is I don’t feel like I’m dieting. I feel like a normal person. I can go and have dinner with friends and not have to eat every piece of bread on the table and then not go have ice cream when I’ve done with dinner.”

Fat Joe

Fat Joe is a rapper and a member of the Terror Squad. He is best known for the song, “Lean Back.” Joe has diabetes, and takes Ozempic to manage it and his weight. That’s the smartest way to eat. Ozempic says you may only have two pieces of your favorite stuff.”

Jim Gaffigan

Stand up comedian, Jim Gaffigan, recently lost a lot of weight. He turned to the weight-loss drug Mounjaro at the advice of his doctor. Gaffigan told People, "She was like, 'Well, some people are against it.’ And I'm like, 'I don't care, I'll try it.' My knees hurt and my cholesterol was kind of not great. And that's some of why I wanted to talk about it, because I almost thought it was kind of odd that people were resistant to talking about it. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. There's people walking around that obviously do not have blonde hair — yet they do. I don't think that's weird, either. It's just whatever gets you through."

It’s a bunch of great things that come along with this.”

Margaret Josephs

She also talked about her decision to take Ozempic on Sherri. “After menopause, it’s so hard to lose weight,” Josephs said. “And then you’re shamed for it if you’re heavy. It shuts off that food noise, my blood work is great. [Before Ozempic] I couldn’t do anything. It doesn’t matter if I was eating right or exercising so I don’t know why there’s any shame in it if it’s helpful to people.”

We are committed to bringing you researched, expert-driven content to help you make more informed decisions around food, health, and wellness. We know how important making choices about your overall health is, and we strive to provide you with the best information possible.

Sara Croce isn’t just about looking fit—she stays active with a mix of dynamic workouts that keep her body strong and her mind sharp. From throwing punches in the boxing ring to gliding down snowy slopes, the Italian model embraces movement in all forms. Whether she’s swimming, horseback riding, or crushing a shoulder workout, she proves that fitness can be both powerful and elegant. If you’re looking for inspiration to switch up your routine, Sara’s approach to staying in shape might be just the motivation you need.

She Boxes

As you can see from her Instagram video, Croce likes to box to keep herself in shape. Harvard Health states that boxing has a lot of health benefits. “There's no proof that fitness boxing is superior to any other types of exercise, but it does have many health benefits. One is strength. ‘You're swinging your arms, moving the muscles of your arms and shoulders, increasing your upper-body strength. And when you're in the boxer crouch with a wide stance, with your knees slightly bent, you're strengthening your core muscles, back, and legs,’ says physical therapist Linda Arslanian, director of rehabilitation services at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women's hospital. Stronger muscles make it easier to get up out of a chair or carry a bag of groceries.”

She Does Shoulder Workouts

Croce shared this video on Instagram of herself doing different shoulder exercises with weights. She captioned it, “Today's SHOULDERS circuit 🔥🇺🇸For me, the improvement has been radical since I gave as much importance to training the upper part as to training the lower part💪🏻 Obviously I’m always followed even from afar by a professional #shoulderday 🤍”

She Swims

Croce likes to swim to keep herself in shape. She shares a lot of posts on Instagram of herself in the water. Croce included a photo of herself in an infinity pool in this post. She also shared this photo of herself in a pool in West Hollywood. Croce captioned it, “Gratitude is the best attitude.”

She Rides Horses

Croce likes to go horseback riding to keep herself in shape. She shared a photo of herself on a horse in one of the previous Instagram links. Croce also shared this video of herself going for a ride on the beach. She captioned it, “Flying? There were times I believed I could.”

She Skis

Croce shared this set of photos and a video on Instagram of herself skiing. The Hill News states that skiing has a lot of benefits. “When skiing down the slopes, chemical reactions occur within our bodies to produce positive feelings. She Uses Natural Products

Lee shared her wellness secrets in an interview with Russh. She says that she likes to use natural products on her skin. “When it comes to beauty, I always avoid products with unnatural chemicals whenever possible. I like simple, earthy stuff. The skin is the largest organ of the body and people can forget that and be reckless about what they smother it in.”

She Prioritizes Her Health

Lee makes sure to prioritize her health. She tells Russh that her dad advised her to have this attitude. “My dad has always reminded me that above all, health comes first. And he means all forms. Mental health, physical health, emotional health, etc. So, he always encouraged me to invest in my health and try to heal pain so I could cope with the other parts of life.”

She Loves Coconut Oil & Olive Oil

Lee shared her favorite body skincare products with ELLE. “I use coconut oil in the shower. I have dry skin so I lather it on while I’m in the shower and the hot water and towel dry gets rid of the excess but leaves enough to let sink in. I can’t get enough of the summer smell! I also love hot baths. I pour about a cup of olive oil in there—it’s heavenly! You come out feeling super silky and smelling like Italy!”

She Takes Care Of Her Skin

Lee shared her skincare routine in an interview with ELLE. “I always change things up with my skin routine, but at the moment I use an Aesop Facial Scrub a few times a week, Witch Hazel as a toner, and a gorgeous moisturizer from Lush,” she says. “On the days that I don’t exfoliate, I use an Aesop face cleanser—trying to keep it all as natural as I can. Most of the time, I don’t wash my face more than once a day.”

She Takes Care Of Her Skin While Traveling

Lee makes sure to stay consistent with skincare. Even while she’s traveling. Lee shared her tips for skincare while traveling in her ELLE interview. “I’m a sucker for a facial and try to have one every now and then with extractions. I don’t even have a usual place, I just look for somewhere that looks decent in whatever city I’m in. My in-flight routine is pretty simple, I drink a ton of water and moisturize my face before I board. After a big shoot with a lot of makeup I just wash it off before I go to bed. Very simple!”
