Kate Middleton, AKA the Princess of Wales, has always been an active, sporty role model. Over the years the 41-year-old has taken part in countless official events where she’s required to take part in physical activity—sometimes in heels!—and always makes it look effortless. This is down to her very busy lifestyle and genuine love for movement, insiders say. Here’s what Middleton does to burn fat and stay incredibly fit.

1. Keeping Up With the Kids

Middleton and husband Prince William are parents to George, 9, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5. According to the princess, she gets plenty of exercise just trying to keep up with the kids."It's running around after the children—I do it all, whenever I can squeeze in exercise I do, even jumping on the trampoline with my children before school,” she says, saying they are happiest when “I’m with my family outside in the countryside and we’re all filthy dirty.”

2. Long Walks

Middleton says she grew up enjoying a very active lifestyle, and is trying to recreate that for her own children. “Life now is so busy, so distracting and actually sometimes the simple things like watching a fire on a really rainy day provides such enjoyment,” she said on the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast. “I remember that from my childhood – doing the simple things, going for a walk together, and that’s really what I try and do with my children as well because it totally strips away all the complications, all the pressures.”

3. Yoga and CrossFit

Middleton likes mixing it up when it comes to her own workouts at the gym. She enjoys yoga and CrossFit exercises, and doesn’t have a personal trainer. “Regular yoga practice may reduce levels of stress and body-wide inflammation, contributing to healthier hearts,” says Johns Hopkins Medicine. “Several of the factors contributing to heart disease, including high blood pressure and excess weight, can also be addressed through yoga.”

4. Tennis Matches

Sport,Young,Woman,On,Tennis,Court.,Female,Tennis,Player.Shutterstock

Middleton enjoys playing tennis with her friends and family. "Once their school work has been dealt with satisfactorily, both George and Charlotte enjoy tennis lessons on their green court,” an insider tells the Express. “Kate plays almost daily with the children and they like their practice sessions with her."

5. Active Pregnancies

Middleton made sure to stay busy throughout her pregnancies, but also nurture her mental health and emotional wellbeing. “There’s so much information about making sure you exercise and making sure you have a healthy diet and things like that, which yes is definitely important,” she says. “But the emotional wellbeing of the mother directly impacts the baby that you’re growing.”

6. Running

Exercise,And,Sport,Running,Shoes,Runner,Woman,Tying,Laces,GettingShutterstock

Middleton and her sister Pippa were both fans of cross-country running in school, something she has kept up over the years. “Running is one of several types of activity that uses a lot of the large muscle groups in our body," says Roger Fielding, associate director of the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts and leader and senior scientist of the Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, and Sarcopenia (NEPS) team. "It can be performed at an intensity that causes our cardiovascular system to be activated. It raises our heart rates and allows for the cardiovascular system to do its job: pump lots of blood to our working muscles."

7. Family Competition

Middleton says she enjoys plenty of friendly competition within the family circle. "We're always slightly competitive with each other,” she says. They all love sport and Louis is mad about rugby. They are at an age where they just love running around." Research shows staying active with kids encourages years of good habits for the whole family. “One of the best ways to start enticing your kids to be active is to make sure you are being active yourself,” says Kimberly Burke, a lecturer in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Colorado State University. “You want to model the behavior of making time and prioritizing health and activity for your kids, and it is important to show them that their health (and yours) is something worth working on and working towards.”

Meghan Markle, AKA the Duchess of Sussex, seems to have a refreshingly holistic approach to health and fitness. Markle, 41, works out not only for her physical health and appearance but for her mental wellness too. The wife of Prince Harry loves a variety of workouts which give her a toned, strong physique and plenty of energy (which is needed when you have two small children!). Here’s the fitness regimen that helps her stay in shape and while actually enjoying the entire process.

1. Motivated To Work Out

Announcement Of Prince Harry's Engagement To Meghan MarkleSamir Hussein/WireImage

Markle works out for her mental as well as physical health. "My health, my state of mind, the feeling you have after a workout; all of these things drive me to step onto my mat or go to the gym," she says. "Sometimes the idea of working out sounds absolutely dreadful, but I always remind myself of how good it will feel afterward. Euphoric, almost."

2. Passionate About Pilates

Invictus Games 2020 - ReceptionSamir Hussein/WireImage

Markle loves Pilates, both for the physical and mental benefits. Her favorite class in London was at the Heartcore fitness studio. She also loves using the Megaformer machine. "[It’s] hands down the best thing you could do for your body,” Markle says. "Your body changes immediately…give it two classes and you will see a difference."

3. Lots of Hiking

Woman,Hiking,Tying,Shoelace,On,Forest,TrailShutterstock

Markle is frequently seen hiking outdoors near her home in California. This form of exercise is known to have fantastic health benefits. “In addition to being a good form of exercise, walking through nature comes with other health benefits like lowering your blood pressure, improving sleep and reducing depression and anxiety,” says the Cleveland Clinic.

4. Yoga Sessions

Markle has practiced yoga for years, thanks to her mother Doria Ragland. "My mom was a yoga instructor so that practice is in my blood,” she says. “I love an intense vinyasa class - and even better if it's blasting hip-hop and done in a dark room with candlelight. The best."

5. Green Juice and Kombucha

Green,Juice,From,AboveShutterstock

Markle enjoys green juice and kombucha for energy throughout the day, but is mindful of her coffee and caffeine intake. “Trying to go for coffee or things like that only end up hurting you in the end,” she says. “So to get a really good natural source of energy like a great green juice…Something that gets right into your system is a nice pick-me-up.”

6. Boxing Workouts

Boxing,Gloves,On,Light,BackgroundShutterstock

Markle trained with Jorge Blanco, the Spanish National Kickboxing Champion, when she lived in Toronto. "I trained Meghan when she was in Toronto during the shooting of the series Suits,” Blanco says. "We did a little bit of martial arts, a little boxing, and sometimes kickboxing. I had a great time training with her."

7. Getting Enough Down Time

Markle prioritizes down time and self-care. "I give myself the luxury of downtime,” she says. “We are all so incredibly busy and juggling so many things but I always take an hour to just decompress, watch mindless TV, snuggle with my dogs and enjoy a glass of wine. That's all part of the investment. It's a balance.”

Kate Winslet has been the poster child for strong, curvy women since bursting into superstardom with her role in the 1997 blockbuster movie Titanic. Winslet, 47, has a down-to-earth approach to health and wellness that focuses on energy, happiness, and real beauty. So how exactly does she stay so strong and maintain her physique? Here’s what her diet and exercise regimen looks like.

1. Yoga and Cardio

73rd Primetime Emmy Awards - ArrivalsRich Fury/Getty Images

Winslet enjoys a variety of workouts to help keep herself happy and healthy. “Power yoga class a couple of times a week, some barre, cardio, and we have a dog, so I love going on walks,” she says. “I drink lots and lots of water! I’m really trying to be healthy.”

2. At-Home Pilates

Winslet likes working out in the peace and quiet of her home when possible. “I have a mat and little hand weights and I do a stomach thing and a bum thing. It’s very simple – you barely break into a sweat,” she says. “Here’s what’s so great about it: no one’s looking at you, no one’s telling you what to do or work harder or anything like that. I know it seems slightly tragic but it’s my way of exercising in a time-efficient way.”

3. Lots of Juicing

Green,Juice,From,AboveShutterstock

Winslet drinks plenty of green juice she makes at home from fresh vegetables. “Our fridge is always full of spinach, kale, cucumbers,” she says. “I’m vegetarian and my husband is vegan, so there’s a lot of plant-based focus in our home. My husband turning vegan is relatively recent, so that’s been a really fun education because you have to learn to be a little more inventive with foods.”

4. Her Beauty and Wellness Mantra

Winslet believes in the power of good habits to ensure optimum wellness. “Beauty in your 40s is about depth and experience. And good habits,” she says. “Drink lots of water. Get outdoors as much as you can. Also, I exercise a lot and that makes an enormous difference in terms of endorphins and skin health.”

5. Portion Control

Isolate,Cookie,On,White,Background,,With,Clipping,Path.Shutterstock

Winslet refuses to diet, but is sensible about indulging in treats. “When it comes to dieting, I just don't care,” she says. “I watch myself as much as any average woman does, you know? I'll eat one cookie, not a whole box of cookies. But I'll still eat the one cookie...sometimes two, or even three. But not the whole box.”

6. No Scales, Ever

Bathroom,Scales,On,White,Background,,Top,View.,Weight,Loss,ConceptShutterstock

Winslet refuses to weigh herself, instead focusing on overall health. The actress relies on a healthy diet and regular exercise to look and feel good. “I don’t know how much I weigh, I haven’t weighed myself in 12 years,” she says. “Top tip: it’s a great move.”

7. Health For Beauty

"Avatar: The Way Of Water" World Premiere – ArrivalsKarwai Tang/Getty Images

Winslet knows that exercise and diet make a huge impact on appearance. “These days, I’m a little more health-conscious in terms of thinking about the next 10 years of my life,” she says. “[I] want to maximize my physical strength and keep my skin good without doing anything to my face. I do believe that beauty and wellness really reflects in your face, in your eyes, and how you feel. It goes hand in hand with elegance as well. I think a woman that looks well and confident is innately elegant.”

Kate Ferdinand is playing dress up in her swimsuits. The wife of retired Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand and former TOWIE star shows off her chiseled abs in a variety of swimwear styles in her latest social media post. “A bikini & hat a day,” she captioned the Instagram Reel. 1. Her Workout Buddy Is Her Husband

Kate has a reliable workout buddy in the form of her husband. The two even hosted workouts on their Ferdinand Fitness YouTube channel, which they started during the pandemic to help stay in shape. "Consider getting a workout buddy. It's sometimes more fun to work out with another. It also can help keep you accountable. If you can't find a buddy due to schedules, signing up for an online fitness class can help keep you motivated. Use a workout or tracking app. Two popular ones are MyFitnessPal and Map My Fitness. These apps even synchronize with each other to gather all your information," says the Mayo Clinic.

2. She Gets Meals Delivered

Kate started getting HelloFresh after welcoming her son, and claims it has been a game changer. “Dinner done, Courtesy of @hellofreshuk. We've been using Hello Fresh for the last few months and it has made our lives and meals so much easier, especially with a new baby!” To make prep easier: "Eggs are one of the most nutritious, low-calorie foods (only 78 calories per serving). A hard- or soft-boiled egg is a great topping or side for just about any dish: slice it on top of your avocado toast, add it to a rice bowl, salad, or just eat it by itself as a healthy mid-morning snack. Either way, eggs are on the top of our healthy breakfast ideas list, so make sure you put them on your meal prep list," says our sister site Eat This, Not That!

3. She Cycles

Kate and her family maintain an active lifestyle, with lots of outdoor hobbies. One of them? Bike rides. “Fun morning cycling with the fam,” she captioned this one. "Cycling is one of the healthiest and low-impact forms of exercise - meaning it causes less strain and injuries than most other work outs. So it's a hobby you can continue to enjoy throughout you long life. And, unlike other forms of exercise, you won't dread doing it. Even if you take cycling seriously and go at it hard, the blood pumping and wind in your face is still exhiliarating, even when it's difficult," says the University of Montana.

4. She Rows

Kate also likes rowing, using the Hydrow rowing machine. “Action shot…” she captioned this Instagram photo of one of her workouts. Why is rowing so great? It works almost every muscle in the body and is easy on the joints.

5. She Loves Exercising for Her Mind

The Global Awards 2020 - VIP ArrivalsDave Benett/Getty Images

“I’m a lot more relaxed than people think,” Kate told The Daily Star about her workout approach. “Everyone thinks I’m this regimented person who has to go to the gym at 4am every day but I’m not. I love working out, I love feeling active and it’s really good for my mind, but I also have a day off and I don’t beat myself up about it. I don’t cry if I don’t do it.”

6. She Does HIIT Workouts

“I work out four or five times a week, doing a mixture of high-intensity interval training and weights depending on how I am feeling. I do squats and lunges and I feel my bum is getting there – it’s a work in progress,” she revealed to The Daily Star.

7. She Does 500 Ab Exercises Per Week

If you want flat abs like Kate, you are going to have to start crunching away. “At the end of every workout, I do an ab finisher, which has five ab exercises – 20 of each so 100 in total. I think the best one is the bicycle crunch, which is good for the obliques on the side of your body,” she told The Daily Star.

2021 CMT Music Awards - Red CarpetGetty Images

Country darling Carrie Underwood ditched calorie counting and instead started keeping track of macros. “I would ‘fall off the wagon,’ then feel terrible and repeat the cycle,” she explained to Women’s Health about her struggles with trying to stay slim in her younger years, sometimes eating as few as 800 calories per day. “Your body is screaming ‘I need more calories. I need more carbs!’" The “wannabe vegan” works with nutritionist Cara Clark, focusing on maintaining a healthy balance of 25 percent protein, 45 percent carbs and 30 percent fat. "I love rules," she admitted to Women’s Health.

2. Jennifer Lopez: Work Out “Harder and Smarter”

Jennifer Lopez has adapted her fitness regiment over the years. However, instead of working out more, she is smarter about her workouts. "In my 20s and 30s I used to work out but not like I do now. It's not that I work out more; I just work out harder and smarter,” she told InStyle. “And it doesn't take me as long as it did in the past. I do it more for my health than I do for looks, which is funny. When you do things for the right reasons, you actually look better!"

"I need someone telling me what to do, and I love being in a group environment because I'm very competitive, so it pushes me to work harder than I would if I was by myself." The 32-year-old is a devotee of The Dogpound, a hardcore boot camp style studio The Dogpound she regularly visits with her friends. 2020 AACTA Awards Presented by Foxtel | Television Ceremony

Working out and eating right are only part of the equation to weight loss, per actress Rebel Wilson, who lost a whopping 60 pounds in less than a year. While she majorly revamped her diet and embarked on a fitness routine, it was the work she did on the instead that helped her achieve her goals. "I think because I approached it from all areas ... the biggest thing that I haven't ever worked on was the emotional side, what I suffered from, I guess, as classical emotional eating … so I really worked on that side," she told Extra.

5. Rita Ora: Focus On Strength, Not Weight Loss

Instead of trying to lose weight or get to a certain clothing size, Rita Ora suggests putting your focus on getting stronger. "I didn't start working out to get skinnier—I started working out to feel better. And I think it's important for women to know that,” she told Shape. “Don't be obsessed with being thin. You just have to be fit, healthy, and strong," she said. "I love my shape because it's curvy. I have thighs. I'm a size 28 in jeans. And that's an average, normal size. I'm proud that I'm normal."

6. Kate Hudson: Move a Little Every Day

I've been doing that since April and I've noticed enormous changes in my body."

He started off by setting her goal at 6,000 steps and then eventually upping it to 14,000. "It had to be more than just getting back from her baby weight, but how do I keep whatever I am doing now forever. That's why we are not a big fan of doing any extreme diet or radical forms of exercise,” he told E! about the weight loss strategy he developed for the star, which also included healthy eating, sleep, and full body workouts. “Woke up before all 3 kiddos to get my steps in and spend time with me, myself, and I. Move move move for your own mental health,” she captioned a 2020 Instagram post.

Halle Berry, 54, looks half her age. According to the star, her biggest secret to staying in shape is her commitment to healthy living, including workouts with her trainer, Peter Lee Thomas, diet tips, and healthy living mantras. “You just have to have the will and the desire,” she told Harper’s Bazaar about what it takes to stay fit. “And you have to make up your mind that it's important. That's the hard work that people have to do."

9. Nicole Scherzinger: Everything in Moderation

FOX's The Masked Singer - Season FiveGetty Images

"Don't deprive yourself of anything because eventually you'll crave it and then you might binge on it. Everything in moderation," Nicole Scherzinger told Women's Health UK about her dietary rule. "For breakfast I love eggs and toast and smoked salmon or bacon, or porridge. For lunch I like maybe some soup or some sushi. For dinner, anything from pasta to rice, and meats and veggies, to sushi. When I'm going to indulge, I love pasta, pizza, I love Mexican with lots of cheese. I love French fries, or crisps – salt and vinegar crisps. In terms of snacks: almonds, coconut water, bits of coconut, baby carrots."

10. Gabrielle Union: Don’t Commit to One Workout Only

2021 Billboard Music Awards - BackstageGetty Images

Gabrielle Union allows her workout routine to evolve. "As the workout phases come and go, I'll try everything," she previously told Women's Health. "Nothing, not one thing, has stuck. I've tried kickboxing, cardio barre, I've tried a SoulCycle class...I'm not a class person." In a 2019 Instagram post, she also revealed that her motivations for exercise are also evolving. “There are times I workout for a job or specific athletic goals but usually I workout to maintain my peace. Sometimes i grunt, grimace, scream...many times I've cried while training. I've cried due to frustration. I've cried from physical pain. Many times I've cried as my fears and anxiety leave my body. For me, I'm always working out my spirit and exercising my soul. This morning felt like the end of a week of taking Ls, but today I got up and reminded myself that even when I lose, I win because I'm committed to learning and evolving,” she wrote.

Dani Elle Speegle isn’t just strong—she’s unstoppable. The elite CrossFit athlete and social media sensation has built a massive following by sharing her intense training sessions and inspiring fitness moments. Recently, she posted a series of weightlifting photos on Instagram, proving once again why she’s a powerhouse in the gym.

“Just a girl and her barbell,” she captioned the post, letting her strength do the talking. From lifting heavy to outdoor adventures, here’s how Speegle stays in peak condition.

She Lifts Weights

In her Instagram post, Speegle is seen lifting weights. According to ACE Fitness, doing this has a lot of benefits. “Using heavy weights increases intramuscular coordination, the number of type II motor units and the amount of muscle fibers engaged within a specific muscle. Have you ever felt your muscles shaking while lifting heavy weights? This is because you are recruiting and activating the larger type II muscle fibers, which are only stimulated to work when a muscle is challenged with heavy resistance or working to fatigue.”

She Golfs

Speegle likes to golf to keep herself in shape. She shared a video of herself on the course in this Instagram post. According to Randa aerobic exercise. “Golf can help strength and balance, improve quality of life and provide aerobic exercise. On a regular 18-hole course, most players will walk between four and five miles, burning up to 2,000 calories.”

She's Into Jumping Rope

Speegle shared this video on Instagram of herself competing in Crossfit events. In it, she is seen jumping rope. According to The Cleveland Clinic, jumping rope has a lot of benefits. “Benefits of jump rope can help improve your coordination, get your heart rate going and help burn calories — and it’s an easy, affordable way to get some cardio in.”

She Hikes

Speegle likes to hike to keep herself in shape. She shared this photo on Instagram of herself hiking the Koko Head Summit. Speegle captioned the post, “Woke up and chose pain today. Every 45 min X 3 rounds: Koko head 💀💀💀 Then sat in my car and stared into the abyss while munching on Banan 🥲🥲🥲”

She Does Cold Plunges

Speegle makes sure to recover. One thing she likes to do is cold plunges. Speegle shared this video of herself jumping into a tub. According to The Mayo Clinic, these have a lot of benefits. “Research on cold-water immersion has found evidence that it helps reduce the degree of exercise-induced muscle damage that can occur after physically challenging activities. Less damage leads to less inflammation, which in turn reduces soreness and helps restore physical performance the next day. These benefits may be the result of rapid constriction of the blood vessels due to the cold water. The cold can trigger responses in your body, such as decreased metabolic activity, alterations in hormone production and blood flow, and activation of the immune system.”

Tvesa Malik isn’t just a pro golfer—she’s a powerhouse athlete dedicated to staying in peak shape. The SuperSport Ladies Championship winner knows that strength and endurance are just as important as skill on the course. That’s why she takes her fitness seriously, incorporating weightlifting, core work, and mobility exercises into her training.

Last year, Malik gave fans a look at her workout routine in an Instagram video, where she powered through hanging crunches, lunges, and weightlifting sessions. She captioned the post, “Got some major work to do before my next session,” proving that even elite athletes are always striving to improve. Here’s a closer look at how Malik keeps her body strong and ready for competition.

She Lifts Weights

Malik is seen doing a lot of weight lifting in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness says that this has a lot of benefits. “Lifting heavy weights elevates levels of anabolic hormones—specifically testosterone, growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1)—which are used to repair muscle fibers damaged during exercise. This helps the muscle fibers to become thicker and capable of generating higher levels of force.”

She Does Lunges

Malik is seen shifting into lunges in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness says that lunges are a form of unilateral training, and that makes them effective. “Unilateral training is a more effective way to build functional strength (than using both legs) because these types of movement mimic other everyday motions, like walking and climbing stairs — and not just to the working leg. Research suggests the strength gains to the nonworking side are about half of the strength gains of the working side.”

She Does Core Workouts

Malik is seen doing core workouts, like hanging crunches in her Instagram video. Core workouts are extremely important. The Mayo Clinic says, “While it takes aerobic activity to burn fat in your stomach, core exercises can strengthen and tone the underlying muscles. Strong core muscles make it easier to do many activities. When your core muscles are strong, it's easier to swing a golf club, get a glass from the top shelf and bend down to tie your shoes.”

She Does Pull-Ups

An upper body workout that Malik likes to do is pull-ups. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing them at the gym. Malik captioned it, “Got some major work to do before my next session.” Asphalt Green says that pull-ups have a lot of benefits. “Pull-ups are a fantastic way to improve upper-body strength. This exercise primarily targets your back and biceps, but involves many stabilizing muscles in your core, arms, and shoulders. Depending on the way you grip the bar, you can even work your chest. Plus, you don’t need any fancy equipment to do a pull-up. Tree branches, scaffolding, and even door frames are all places people can do pull-ups.”

She Golfs

Golf is obviously one of the ways that Malik keeps herself in shape. Better Health says that the sport has a lot of benefits. “Golf can be good for your health and your heart. Walking an average course for a round of golf can be between five to seven kilometres. If you walk 18 holes three to five times a week, you’ll get an optimal amount of endurance exercise for your heart. If you pull your clubs or carry them, you’ll burn even more calories each round and benefit even more.”

Camila Guper is more than just a fitness influencer—she’s a motivation powerhouse. With 1.1 million Instagram followers, she inspires her audience with workout routines, wellness tips, and a disciplined approach to staying fit. Recently, she took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her latest gym session, including a stairclimber workout, a snapshot of her Apple Watch tracking her progress, and a post-workout mirror selfie in pink workout gear.

Her message? Consistency is key. “Don't underestimate the power of small, consistent actions! Every effort is worth it when you know where you want to go,” she captioned the post. From intense stair workouts to leg-sculpting exercises, here’s how Guper stays in top shape.

She Uses A Stairclimber

In her Instagram post, Guper is seen using the stairclimber. Stair workouts have a lot of health benefits. ACE Fitness says, “Improving metabolic health in terms of lower risks of heart problems and other complications, also by definition improves fitness. You can feel your heart working harder and the fire in your lungs when you ascend stairs. And that’s provoking important changes in your cardiorespiratory system that will make physical activities, like running and walking, feel easier.”

She’s Consistent

Guper makes sure to stay consistent with her workout routines. One way she does so is by staying disciplined. Guper talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “Good morning! May we always have the discipline to do what is good for us. Amen 💪🏽🙏🏽✨ 40 min stair + shoulder and chest workout today.”

She Does Lunges

Guper shared some of her favorite lower body workouts in this Instagram video. One thing she is seen doing is lunges. According to The Mayo Clinic, lunges have a lot of benefits. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles.”

She Does Leg Extensions

In the previous Instagram video, Guper is seen using the leg extension machine. Asphalt Green says that leg extensions have a lot of benefits. “These machines provide isolation exercises for your legs. This type of exercise works only one muscle or group of muscles, which means you can build up that part of your body quickly. If you want your thigh muscles to really stand out in those shorts you just bought, the leg extension machine is for you!”

She Spends Time Outside

Guper likes to spend time outside. She shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself enjoying a day by the pool with her dog. Guper captioned the post, “Good Morning! What book are you reading? 📖💚🐺🌮 I'm loving reading How to become super natural! I'm already sharing saying it's a must-read.”
