Read on to see 5 ways Kathryn Bernardo stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.
She Works Out At Home
During the pandemic, Bernardo makes sure to workout at home. She shared her routine in this video on YouTube. Bernardo wrote in the caption, "As you all know, since the quarantine began, I've been keeping myself busy by working out. But this time around, I pushed myself further with a 3-day fitness challenge! I asked three different trainors to guide me virtually (Thank you Janie, Ga, and Mama Kat!), and they also revealed some workout tips for everyone. :)"
She Does Planks
In her YouTube video, Bernardo revealed she does planks to stay in shape. The Cleveland Clinic states that planks have a lot of benefits. "Plank exercises work your core muscles, which are located between your pelvic floor and diaphragm. The area is also known as your trunk. These muscles support your movements and stabilize the spine."
She Works Her Abs
Bernardo does a lot of core workouts. In her YouTube video, she revealed that she does exercises like reverse crunches, bicycles, and scissor kicks. AceFitness states that having a strong core is important. "Developing core strength is essential for everyday health and well-being, as a strong core protects the spine, reduces back pain, enhances movement patterns, and improves balance, stability and posture."
She Hikes
Bernardo loves to hike to stay in shape. She shared these photos on Instagram of herself hiking by a waterfall. Bernardo captioned the post, "One with nature." Hiking is a great way to stay in shape. The Washington Trails Association states, "While any type of physical movement will result in the body using its stored energy, the unique nature of hiking can result in greater calorie burn than other forms of exercise. In fact, research from the University of Florida concluded that walking on uneven terrain, like that of hiking trails, causes the body to use 28 percent more energy than walking on flat, even ground due to the subtle shifts in the way your leg muscles must lengthen or shorten while hiking."
She Plays Tennis
Bernardo loves to play tennis. She shared these photos on Instagram of herself on the court, captioning them, "No more Monday blues." Better Health states that tennis is a great workout. "Tennis can be a great workout and lots of fun. Playing tennis has many health benefits including: Increasing aerobic capacities. Lowering resting heart rate and blood pressure. Improving metabolic function. Increasing bone density. Lowering body fat. Improving muscle tone, strength and flexibility. Increasing reaction times."
