1. High Glucose Levels
Maloney talked about her weight loss journey when a fan asked her about it on her Instagram stories. Despite cutting out sugar and alcohol and trying to diet, Maloney says she was not losing weight. "I thought it was a thyroid thing, so I was going to the doctor and getting blood work done. I think it's really important to also check up on your health because even though it wasn't a thyroid thing, I did discover that my glucose levels were pretty high and that could've led to some maybe pre-diabetic problems."

After discovering the potential pre-diabetes issues, Maloney got professional help for her diet. “I met a really great nutritionist, who helped me understand how to eat for my metabolism, especially with being insulin resistant or insulin-sensitive,” she said on her instagram stories. “So now I just have a great understanding on nutrition and what kinds of food I should and shouldn't be eating. And I'm not dieting, but I just have a wealth of knowledge on what kind of foods to be eating."
3. Hikes and Peloton Workouts
Maloney was still in a relationship with Tom Schwartz when she started her weight loss journey, and the pair would go hiking together as well as doing at-home workouts. "We were fortunate enough to have a treadmill here, that was really nice," Schwartz told Bravo Insider. "We got a [Peloton] bike, too! Super grateful that we have both of those. They’ve been our saviors throughout all of this. Tom Sandoval has a full gym in his house, which I’ve been utilizing as well."
4. The 80/20 Rule
Maloney struggled with her diet during the pandemic lockdowns, but soon got back on track. "I just like to listen to my body, be 80/20 with it all,” she told Bravo Insider. “[I always try to] be active and moving my body, getting steps in. 80% of the time, I’m being very on top [of it] and consciously eating the kinds of food I should be eating that my body knows how to digest, eating healthy. Then 20% [of the time, I am] indulging in the things I love. That’s the approach I’m trying to take to it all."
5. Her Views on Ozempic
Maloney says as long as there are unrealistic standards for women, people will continue to do what it takes to lose weight. "I say everyone do what you want to do," she told PEOPLE. "Understand the risks, and if it's right for you, it's right for you. I think the expectations [for women to be thin] are always going be there whether or not there's like this miracle drug or not. The pressures are always going to be there.” Maloney sarcastically adds, “So thanks, Hollywood, thanks media, thanks society for keeping it going. But I just think, you know, if it makes you happy, follow your bliss."
