Katie Morton is enjoying spring in London in her workout clothes. In a new social media pos the YouTuber shows off her amazing body during a run in the UK. “Everyone loves London during Christmas time and I don’t blame them. But spring and summer?!! It’s a different kind of magic,” she writes, adding that Regent’s Park is “perfect for a run/walk..the rose garden is my fave.” She also notes that Bishops Park “has a small rose garden and it sits on the river with a run/walk trail.” How does she approach diet, fitness, and self care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
1. Hydration
Katie is all about hydration. “Hydration tip: When you’re done with your workout, fill up your water bottle and walk on the treadmill until it’s gone. It’s my favorite way to cool down before walking out,” she captioned a post. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.
2. Hiking
Katie loves hiking. “What a weekend,” she captioned a post devoted to a hiking trip to Snowdon in Wales. “This really put the whole ‘focus on the step in front of you and not the whole mountain’ thing into perspective. I thoroughly enjoyed the grit of the hike. The top was just a nice reward. But the good part was all the laughing, slipping, climbing, and stopping to take in the scenery on the way.” According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:
- Building stronger muscles and bones
- Improving your sense of balance
- Improving your heart health
- Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems
3. Pickleball
Katie enjoys a trendy new racquet sport: Pickleball. “More weekends like this !!” she captioned a post. According to the Cleveland Clinic, the racquet sport helps improve heart health, enhances muscle and bone strength, increases balance and coordination, boosts brain health, and lengthens lifespan.
4. Reading
Katie is a reader. She captioned a photo of herself at a bookstore: “my kindle is shaking right now. pls spam me with book recs.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years compared with people who weren't readers or who read periodicals.
5. Protein Smoothie
Katie fuels her body with a Dark Chocolate Cherry Protein smoothie. “It’s got healthy fats, fiber, antioxidants, and protein. This is a new go-to snack for me. I’m still learning but this one has been a success ! & you can easily add oats to bulk it up and have it for breakfast,” she wrote in a post.
