Kelis in Swimsuit Says “Let’s Swim with Sharks”

Kelis’ Milkshake is bringing all the sharks to the cove. In a new social media post, the singer flaunts her fantastic figure in a bathing suit while diving with sharks. “Let’s Swim with sharks 🦈 in AFRICA‼️👀😱 #southafrica #capetown #sharks #ocean #africa it was my Son’s 16th Bday wish,” she captioned the Instagram post. How does the singer approach health and wellness? Here are her diet and fitness habits.
Exercise in the Morning
Kelis exercises first thing in the morning. “It’s really important for me to move my body in some way to start the day,” she told Us Weekly. She revealed that she hits the gym at 8:00 a.m. doing a “high-energy” workout. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and build lean muscle mass, and increase calorie burn. Strength training may also help you:
- Develop strong bones
- Manage your weight
- Enhance your quality of life
- Manage chronic conditions
- Sharpen your thinking skills
Cooking
You might not know this, but Kelis is a professionally trained chef. She spends a lot of time cooking healthy meals for her family. “Cooking every day keeps me grounded, I find inspiration in food, so I like to try and incorporate it into my daily routine,” she told Us.
Coffee
Kelis loves coffee. Her coffee recipe involves frothed raw milk. “I hate unfrothed milk in my coffee. I don’t ever want unfrothed,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. She also might add ginger, cayenne, and/or cacao. According to the Cleveland Clinic, moderate coffee consumption has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.
Eggs
Kelis makes sure to get enough protein. One of her go-to sources? Egg dishes. She egularly whips up frittatas, eggs and chorizo, and hard-boiled eggs with smoked habanero salt and hot sauce. “We live on a farm, so we have a ridiculous amount of eggs all the time,” she told Harper’s. “So I’m always like, ‘What can I add eggs to?'”
Protein Shakes
While milkshakes aren’t a regular part of the singer’s diet, protein shakes are. She even sells her own on her website Bountyandfull. “You won’t find a better meal replacement / protein ❤️ keep your waist snatched, and your hair and skin looking good as well, I use all organic, all natural ingredients, mix it in your favorite drink, make smoothies or shakes,” she says in an Instagram video. According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.
