Kelly Bensimon Says This Unexpected 'Cardio' Helped Her Lose 10 Pounds

Kelly Bensimon is a former model, "real estate mogul," and cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City. She's well-known for her feud with Bethenny Frankel in the binge-worthy Bravo drama series. On a more personal level, Kelly opened up to Daily Mail, as reported by PEOPLE, about her weight-loss journey after menopause. The 56-year-0ld star revealed that one *very fun* form of cardio, in particular, helped her drop 10 pounds.

This One Form of Cardio Helped Kelly Bensimon Lose 10 Pounds

In Kelly's interview with Daily Mail, the real estate agent addressed that her body went through changes post-menopause. She made certain tweaks to her diet and workout routine and ended up losing 10 pounds.

What form of cardio did she do, might you ask? "My body is in the shape it is because I do so many different sports," Kelly told the outlet. "I also have a lot of sex because that's cardio."

She added, "I have lost nine inches from working out and dieting. I started out at 145 pounds, now I'm 135 pounds. I probably work out four to five times a week—it's all about kinetic energy."

Kelly performs other forms of cardio as well, such as cycling and dance workouts. She's a fan of various fitness classes. "I go to Equinox to do DanceBody and Soul Cycle," she said.

She Walks

Getting in daily steps can be seamless when you live in a place like Manhattan. Kelly seems to walk a ton to keep herself in excellent shape. She shared one video of her daily routine on Instagram as she's sporting white walking shoes, leggings, and a fur coat on her way to get her hair done. In another clip, she's on a scenic walk with her pup.

She Cut Out Salad Dressing, Too

Kelly also made some essential revisions to her diet. She told Daily Mail that she ditched salad dressing.

"As a mother-of-two and an ex-model, I understand the ramifications of being too thin," she explained. "I was making salads with lots of salad dressing before, but now, when I go to Sweetgreen, I just use a little olive oil because you don't realize how much calories are in dressing."

She Limits Carbs and Calories

Six days of the week, Kelly stays away from carbs. She makes all-around healthier choices as well, typically opting for the lower-calorie option.

"I eat so much more than I ever did, but I cut out carbs six days a week," she said. "Don't eat banana cake, instead eat a croissant: There's 600 calories in a slice of banana cake but people think it's healthy and less than 300 in a croissant."
