She focuses on making healthy choices. “I eat very healthy all year round,” Kelly said to Vogue referring to her diet leading up to the 2017 Victoria's Secret show. “Cooking healthy, nutritious and delicious meals is one of my biggest passions so eating “healthy” for me isn’t 'eating healthy', it's just eating.” She continues on, saying “I’ve never actually known anything other than nutritious foods. I’ve grown up with a mother who is a doctor, dentist and cancer researcher who also happens to be an amazing cook. While I was growing up she always made me and my brothers healthy meals similar to what I eat today.”

When she needs to, she becomes strict with her diet. “Four weeks before the show I like to kick it in high gear, which for me means cutting out sodium. I try to stay away from all kinds of sugars except for the sugars I get from the berries in my breakfast and coconut sugar from the occasional raw vegan chocolate bar that I eat,” she said to Vogue.

The “morning tonic is cold water mixed with 2 tablespoons [of] apple cider vinegar, juice of 1 lemon, cayenne and cinnamon. Then I’ll go for my workout,” she said to Vogue. “After that I’ll have my daily green juice as well with some fresh berries for breakfast.”

She prioritizes getting plenty of protein into her diet. “My lunch and dinner meals before the show include lots of vegetables and lean protein such as shrimps, scallops, egg whites, turkey breast and white fish,” she said to Vogue. “Dinner might be raw vegan Pad Thai. I make a great oil free cauliflower stir fry as well.” According to Piedmont, there are quite a few reasons why you should prioritize factoring enough protein into your diet, including digestion. “About half the dietary protein you consume each day is used to make enzymes, which aid in digesting food and making new cells and body chemicals.”

She Prioritizes Mental and Physical Health

Both mental and physical health is important to her. “Resistance bands, gliders, ankle weights and jump rope. Using the jump rope for cardio intervals during a session of pilates is my favourite,” she said to Vogue. She tells Vogue that she does a variety of different exercises each week. “I work out for one to two and a half hours, six days a week, and switch up the routines, alternating between spinning, boxing, running and jump rope for cardio. I do a lot of exercises with resistance bands to get my legs and butt in shape and I also do different ab exercises.”

Gale shared some of her secrets to getting in shape for a show to Vogue. “I take ashwagandha to help with stress, and since stress has an impact on your beauty from the inside out I’d say ashwagandha is helpful in keeping my skin clear. I also switch my morning coffee to morning matcha instead two weeks prior to show. And I make sure to not skip my daily dose of chlorella and spirulina. Chlorella especially, keeps my nails and hair healthy and strong.”

Gale makes sure to eat healthy. She shared her typical diet with Vogue. “I was never introduced to bad, unhealthy foods so for me it’s just natural to eat very healthy. I eat lots of fish, all vegetables except potatoes, I love slow release carbs like oatmeal for breakfast, yogurt, and lots of berries and fruits. I snack on nuts and raw vegan chocolate sweetened with coconut sugar.”

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

Abigail is a fan of Pilates. “Group workout classes are so big right now, but I always get nervous around other people in settings like that. I have to go at my own pace without a bunch of distractions so, for me, Pilates with a one-on-one instructor works best. It’s not cheap, but then you also aren’t tempted to skip,” she said She added to Men’s Fitness via Muscle & Fitness that the workout “keeps you long and lean” — and the Mayo Clinic agrees. “I love green juices and smoothies. Sometimes I’ll put some protein powder in the morning—I feel like the mix of vegetables, and vitamins and stuff that’s in them, really gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I love BBQ food—my ultimate cheat is a pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and macaroni and cheese from this great place in LA,” she told Men’s Fitness.

Ratchford also lifts weights. “Initially, I made the mistake that a lot of girls do and I was only doing cardio. I just really didn’t see too much change in my body. I’ve been listening to my girlfriends who are in great shape and they say you have to do weight training, you have to go in and do squats. That’s my new thing—I’ve been doing some resistance training, circuit training,” she told Men’s Fitness.
