Krissy Cela is a fitness trainer on the Evolve You app and influencer. Recently, she has been documenting her process of losing pregnancy weight on Instagram. In a recent post, Cela revealed that she had been consistently weight training. She captioned it, “8 weeks of lifting, not depriving, recovering and sticking to an actual PLAN! Not doing random workouts. All my programs are on the @evolveyou app. I'm currently on the strong program and absolutely loving it! But there are home workouts too. Use code KRISSY for money off! She Strength Trains

Cela strength trains to keep herself in shape. ACE Fitness says that this has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She’s Consistent

Cela revealed in the caption of her Instagram post that she made sure to be consistent with her wellness. “So yeah… just keep lifting some heavy iron, don’t really listen to people who tell you not to unless you have an injury of some sort. Eat your fats, carbs and protein and get your steps in. Keep it simple and remember a cute gym set will make you lift heavier 😂Proud of myself because it really wasn’t easy showing up daily ngl.”

She Accepts Herself

Cela talked about her journey to accept herself in the caption of this Instagram post. “When I was growing up, all I ever wanted was to be pretty. I hated the way I looked and felt out of place, especially as the only girl in school with upper lip hair and a foreign background. I resented that my Albanian parents imposed cultural norms that limited what I could wear and how I could express myself. Now, in my 30s, I’ve learned to embrace my roots while also appreciating the many unique qualities I bring to the table that go beyond mere appearances. I didn’t realize how much being creative, strong, and loving would mean to me. I didn’t understand the true value of these qualities until now.”

She Works Her Lower Body

Cela shared some of her favorite lower body workouts in this Instagram post. She captioned it, “This mammaaa is putting in the work! Loving it so much moving my body and building my strength all over again 💅🏽All workout programs are from the @evolveyou app so if you’re stuck on where to start I really think you should just come and join the party and see what the fuss is all about. (Own brand). Workout: 1. KB RDL: 4 sets till failure 2. BB Reverse lunges: 4 sets 8 reps each leg 3. Hip work: need it my hips are tight: 4 sets each leg 8 reps (great to warm up also) 4. Another thing that Cela does to keep herself in shape is go for walks. She shares a lot of posts on Instagram of herself doing so. Kristy Hawkins is getting a workout in and explaining why she opted out of Queen of the Platform. In a new social media post the powerlifter shows off her strength and impressive physique in a two-piece exercise set during a workout. “So this was my last squat workout before flying out to Florida to compete at Queen of the Platform, and I felt some tearing in my right outer quad halfway up. The swelling was not that bad so I thought there was about a 50/50 chance I could still compete. I flew out here, weighed in, and warmed up to about 200kg before making the difficult decision to pull out of the meet. It’s a pretty minor injury but I still felt a sharp pain that let me know it was not going to be a good day. I just need a little more time to heal,” she captioned the Instagram video. Cardio Doesn't Always Cut It

Kristy, a PhD, was overweight as a teen. She told Muscle & Fitness that she struggled and used extreme dieting to lose weight, and developed an eating disorder. She also devoted a lot of time to “work off” the excess weight with cardio and dance.

Take a Walk

Kristy understands the importance of getting her steps in. Luckily her dog, He-Man the Pug, who accompanies her to the gym, motivates her to walk. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Swim

Kristy also enjoys swimming — and so does He-Man. “Had to repost from @he_man_the_pug because I love him so much and am slightly sorry I traumatized him. But I loved how he kept trying to climb on top of my shoulders,” she joked in a caption about one of their swimming sessions. Swimming is a good way to get regular aerobic physical activity, according to the CDC. Just two and a half hours per week of aerobic physical activity, such as swimming, bicycling, or running, can decrease the risk of chronic illnesses. In addition to the many physical benefits, there are multiple studies supporting the mental health benefits of swimming as well.

Train Your Brain

Aside from being one of the best female powerlifters of all time, Kristy is always training her mind. She is actually a biologist! “Not powerlifting-related but this is how @he_man_the_pug and I spend our days. I’m proud to be a co-founder and CSO of Antheia using synthetic biology to revolutionize the way plant-inspired medicines are manufactured. #dogsofantheia #science,” she captioned a post.

Lift Weights

However, it wasn’t until she started strength training that she was able to heal. “In the same way my brain seemed natural to respond to learning about science and math,” she explains to Muscle & Fitness, “my body responded to exercise and training. I found that developing these two aspects of my life – mind, and body – created a balance that I found extremely rewarding.”

Krissy gets up for the day “around half five or six,” she told Closer. “The reason I wake up so early, it sounds ridiculous, but it helps me do everything I need to do for myself before I can give myself to everybody else. I have this concept where it's all fair and well doing things for the people we love, but if we're not taking some time out for ourselves, to check in or be productive, we'll constantly feel bottom of the list. So I wake up, half five or six o'clock.”

3. Protein Shakes

Krissy makes sure to get enough protein. “So for me, every single day I have protein shakes, it's just convenient. It's a great way for me to up my protein intake, but it's something I don't rely on. Food is key. Protein shakes are a step up from what you already have, so if you don't have a healthy diet or consistent training routine, then you can't expect it to do what it's supposed to do,” she adds to Closer.

4. Workout and Meal Prep

Cela outlines some of her top health habits in an Instagram post. The first one? Workout and meal prep. “It’s a small win but one that’s helped me with mental fatigue. When you know what you’re wearing you don’t need to stress about it,” she says about choosing her outfit the night before. As for meal prep, she suggests planning for the week ahead. “I have to always meal prep it just sets me up to succeed and also it saves money,” she says in the post. In the clip, she makes a batch of food and separates it into glass containers.

5. Plan Workouts and Don’t Wing It

The Bodi app is perfect because I can just open up my phone and do a work out wherever I am. I am able to modify the workouts and make sure I stay on track. The exercise offers the breath-stealing effect of running in a very condensed timeframe.”

She Does Deadlifts

Tedeschi is seen doing deadlifts with a weight in this Instagram story. Deadlifts are very beneficial. After having her first child, Platten opened up about her struggles on Instagram. She tells TODAY that she received a lot of support from others after doing this. "I get flooded with comments from other women and men saying that it's OK, and I'm not alone, I'm not doing a bad job," she said. “It's making me feel not isolated. I could have gone down a road of this being a much darker experience had I not learned early on to be vulnerable and vocalize what I'm going through. That's been a really big life raft for me.”

She’s Comfortable With Her Weight

On her Instagram, Platten revealed that she is not putting pressure on herself to lose pregnancy weight, as she is comfortable with herself. “I am not less worthy of love just because I can’t seem to lose those last 5 or 10 pounds of ‘baby weight.’ I’ve tried it ALL and my body is begging for my acceptance. I am stronger than ever, I am so healthy, I can dance and lift weight and carry my girls and move and live a full beautiful life and am honestly sick of trying to keep shrinking myself back to pre-baby weight. F— it.”

She Takes Care Of Her Skin

Platten shared some of her skincare secrets with Health Insight. “I apply face masks regularly — twice a week or more — and often go to sleep with a thin layer of a hydrating mask instead of a moisturizer. I also have a five-step routine (cleansing, toning, using a serum, moisturizing, and using sunscreen) that I do every morning and night no matter what. It’s a form of meditation for me and reminds me that even when I’m crazy busy there’s always time to breathe and love on myself a little.”

She’s Consistent With Wellness

Platten makes sure to stay consistent with her wellness routine. She shared her secrets with Health Insight. “In addition to my daily routine, I get regular facials (or give myself mini facials when I don’t have time), drink a crazy amount of water, eat healthy foods, and wear hats almost every time I’m in the sun. As cheesy as it might sound, I really do love taking care of my skin and I put a lot of effort into maintaining it.”

She Gives Back

Platten is a big believer in giving back to others. “I think we can remember how powerful we are by giving — giving compliments, our time to charities, and random acts of kindness,” she told Health Insight. “We can feel sad and powerless when we only focus on what we don’t have or don’t want, but we can easily shift this by switching that focus to what we have to offer! In my opinion, nothing is more beautiful or attractive than a woman who knows her worth and power.”
