The Real Housewives of New York (and Ultimate Girls Trip!) star Kristen Taekman is fully on board with the trend of ‘hot girl walks’ (which is when you take a 4 mile walk outside while listening to something that inspires you). Taekman, 46, shared a video of herself dressed in hot pink two-piece workout gear, looking—as usual—absolutely stunning. “Obsessed with hot girl walks… anyone else or am I just the last one to hop on this trend! 😳 anyways shout out @jljefflewis for keeping me entertained while I walk!” she captioned the post. Taekman appears to have barely aged a day since her stint on New York—here’s how she does it.

1. Fitness DVD


Taekman teamed up with celebrity trainer and JCORE founder Jay Cardiello to develop cardio/strength training fitness DVD Body Back. The workout can be done in 20 minutes, in a small space, no gym membership needed. “I said in the beginning I’m not a gym person. I walk into the gym and don’t know what to do with myself and I’m too embarrassed to ask,” Taekman told PEOPLE. “Like I literally walk around and pretend I know what I’m doing when I really don’t. So it’s awesome that I can just watch this video, and I have everything I need right there.”

2. 20 Minute Workout

Taekman’s favorite thing about Body Back is how short—yet effective—a workout it is. “I will tell my friends about JCORE Body Back and they say they don’t have time for that, and I’m like, ‘No you don’t understand. You start at 7:10 and you’re done at 7:30.’ Everyone has 20 minutes,” she told PEOPLE. “When we first started this whole process I was so winded — 7 minutes in and I felt like I couldn’t get through it. I kept saying to Jay, ‘I feel like I’m fit, but you obviously know how to help me tighten and strengthen.’ My goal was to not feel winded and I’m finally there, which is great.”

3. No Regrets

Taekman has no regrets about being on Housewives. “Life has been fantastic since the Housewives,” she told Upfront NY. “I always like to note that it has been drama free. The whole experience was wonderful, I learned so much. I made great new friends and I feel like I learned a lot about myself. I always like to remind people when the whole thing started for me my daughter was only a year old and I was still in that whole mommy mode. So for me it was a great opportunity to get back out there.”

4. Drugstore Cleanser

Taekman has been using the same drugstore cleanser for decades. "Everybody wants to try new things, but I feel like you should stick with what works,” she told PEOPLE. I've been using Purpose soap for 20 years to wash my face. You get it at CVS for $5. That's the only thing I use; I won't stray from it. I used to have really crazy problems with my skin so I don't like to stray from what my skincare routine is. I'm kind of superstitious." "The best beauty advice I've ever gotten is to sleep with a silk pillowcase," Taekman says. "It's good for your hair, it's good for your skin and it's anti-aging. When you're smooshed up all night on a cotton pillow, it causes wrinkles and messes up your hair. When I travel I bring silk scarves to throw on the pillow."

5. Get That Glow

Taekman knows how important healthy habits are for beauty and wellness. “We all know the importance of 8 hours of sleep, drinking the equivalent to 8 glasses of water (which I love with a squeeze of fresh lemon) and eating healthy are the three best things you can do for your skin and body,” she writes in her website Last Night’s Look. “I strongly recommend find the beauty routine that works for you and your skin and stay consistent with it and get that GLOW!”

Kim has worked out with tons of trainers, but really transformed her body when she started training with bodybuilder Melissa Alcantara, who busts her famous butt in the gym. "I’ve been working out really hardcore with a bodybuilder for one year. September is our one-year anniversary,” Kim revealed to E! News in 2018, via People. Ever since, the duo have been lifting “heavy weights,” per Kim with Alcantara adding to Women’s Health that 85% of their training is done with weights.

2. She Works Out Every Day That Ends in “Y”

If you want Kim’s body, you will have to work hard for it—every day. “I work out about an hour-and-a-half every single day,” she confessed to E! News. "The Department of Health and Human Services recommends that healthy adults include aerobic activity and strength training in their fitness plans, specifically:

  • At least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week, or an equivalent combination of moderate and vigorous aerobic activity
  • Strength training exercises of all the major muscle groups at least twice a week," says the Mayo Clinic.

3. She Has a “No Excuses” Policy

Kim doesn’t make excuses to miss her workouts. Her trainer explained to People in 2020 that Kim shows up no matter what. "Just like anybody else, there are days where Kim's not really feeling it, but she will do it," she said. "Then there are a lot of days when she's killing it! She never questions the stuff that I make her do, she's just like, 'Okay,' and I love that."

Indian actress Karishma Tanna’s commitment to health and wellness is known throughout the industry—she’s always one step ahead of the fitness curve. Tanna is passionate about fitness, and has been for a very long time. “I’m a total fitness freak,” she told the Times of India. “My workout regime is maintained by my trainer who meticulously plans my workouts. I follow a program, which includes three days of hardcore weight training and three days of cardio exercise. I make sure to chill out on Sundays — it helps me overcome my fatigued muscles.”

Tanna loves healthy home cooked meals, mostly based on traditional Indian recipes. “I follow a normal diet and prefer to eat home cooked food,” she told the Times of India. “I believe that being on a diet means eating proper food at proper times. I eat gujju khana for lunch, which comprises roti, two types of sabji, dal, brown rice and curd. The body needs energy during workouts so just before I go to the gym, I eat an apple and have some juice.”

Tanna loves to travel around the world, especially taking trips to Europe with her husband. “I love the vibe there. It's scenic, I relate to it a lot, and love the cafes there,” she told Zee Zest. “We [she and her husband] did a 25-day trip to Europe and covered destinations such as Saint-Tropez and Puerto Banús.”

Tanna is proud to be a confident, strong woman, something she feels comes from early responsibility for her family. “[Growing up] I felt that I have to take on my family’s and my responsibility,” she told Zee Zest. “I felt that maybe God has given me an opportunity to take care of them. Tanna unwinds with spa sessions and family time, finding it to be the most refreshing and rejuvenating practice both for her physical and mental health. “I love stepping into a spa to unwind,” she told the Times of India. “A reflexology session followed by a complete de-stressing body massage and long steam with some soothing melodious music relaxes me greatly. Harvard Health reports that having a strong core has a lot of benefits. “Having a strong core helps improve balance, which lowers your risk of falling. It may also prevent other injuries, such as muscle strain or spasms in the lower back. Well-developed core muscles help stabilize your spine, helping to create a firm base of support for virtually all movement, including everyday moves like reaching up to a shelf or wiping up a spill on the floor. In addition, without a strong core, your leg muscles may not function in an optimal position, which often puts undue stress on the hips and knees. These common back and leg aches and pains often derail regular exercise routines, which are important for a healthy heart. NASM states that squats have a lot of benefits. “The squat is an effective exercise for improving lower body muscular endurance, strength and power. I cheat on everything—I cheated on tests (don't tell my teachers), I cheat workouts, I eat whatever I want! So I just needed someone to watch me and make sure I'm doing it correctly. When I have an hour, I want to give everything I have to that hour, like, really work out.”

Sara likes an amped up version of pilates. “I've been doing a lot of SLT. It’s like a really intense Pilates with a machine. My body moves better when it’s very focused on small movements that elongate your body and your muscles,” she told The Cut. “I tried SLT for the first time five or six years ago when I first got to New York. Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”
