Kristin Cavallari is enjoying a fun-filled trip to beautiful Montana with boyfriend Mark Estes. Cavallari, 37, shared pictures of their vacation, including one of herself wearing gray two-piece workout gear and a matching hat, posing with Estes out on a hike. “MT with him 🤍,” she captioned the post. Cavallari is thriving in her 30s—here’s what her approach to diet, wellness, and training looks like as a busy mother-of-three.

1. Lifting Weights

Cavallari was working out with trainers three times a week but takes it easier now. "It's important to lift weights and I love where my muscle is at now, but I had to back off,” she told Shape. “We all have to figure out what works for us. I think it's more about listening to your body and also how you feel in your clothes. I don't really like weighing myself. I will from time to time just to check-in. But for the most part, [I measure my fitness] more just on how I feel and how I feel in my jeans."

2. Real Food

Cavallari enjoys one piece of dark chocolate after dinner to indulge her sweet tooth. "I am very health conscious, that's important to me," she told Shape. "I eat a lot of fruit and I definitely eat carbs, healthier carbs. I try to eat food as close to its natural state as possible. Not a lot of processed food, but tons of fruits and vegetables, and meat. I try to eat organic as often as possible. I never look at calories or fat or anything. I only read ingredient labels on a package.”

3. Balanced Diet

Cavallari tries to model a healthy approach to diet and fitness for her family. “I look at my diet like a checkbook,” she told PureWow. “If I indulge at a restaurant or on vacation, it’s no problem because the next day I’ll fuel my body with more salads and proteins to balance how I feel.” “It’s really important to me for my kids to see that I have a healthy relationship with food and fitness. They know firsthand how junk food makes them feel vs. nutritious alternatives, and that guides their own choices.”

4. Meditation and Nature

Cavallari meditates and (smartly) avoids the comments online. “It's extremely important to take care of yourself mentally with public scrutiny,” she told Glamour. “I don't read social media comments, blogs etc. That's been a game changer for me. I also meditate and try to get outside to connect with nature. Plus, kids help put everything in perspective.”

5. Living Her Best Life

Cavallari is happily living her best life. "I've been able to prioritize myself in the last few years. I think it's the best thing that we can do for ourselves and for our families," she told Shape. "And yes, in a way it was forced upon me, but it's been the best thing that's ever happened to me. Through anything I choose to look at the positives and that's one really positive that has come out of my divorce."

Summer may be over but Kristin Cavallari is still heating things up! How does the mother-of-three maintain her fantastic figure? Read on to see 7 ways Kristin Cavallari stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bikini Photos!

1. Consistency Is Key

In a recent interview with Us, Kristin revealed that when it comes to staying in shape, it’s all about consistency. “It’s important to give ourselves grace and not beat ourselves up,” she said. “For so many years in my early 20s, I was all or nothing. I have the best relationship I’ve ever had with food and health because I’ve let go of a lot of that control. It’s about consistency — just keep showing up.”

2. She Designs Her Own Workouts

Kristin no longer works out with a personal trainer. Instead, she has designed her own workout. “I lift weights, but I do circuit training to keep my heart rate up. I also started doing hot yoga every once in a while. I don’t do it as often as I would like, but I love it when I’m able to make it happen,” she told Us.

3. She Eats Dinner Early

Kristin eats her final meal of the day very early. “I eat with my kids every night at 5:15 p.m.,” she told Us. “I find that I sleep better when I eat early like that. And I eat enough so that I’m not hungry before I go to bed.”

4. Her Diet Is Very Healthy

Kristin told Us that she eats food “as close to as its natural state” as much as she can. “The way I eat is a lifestyle. Organic as often as possible, tons of veggies, meat, nuts and seeds, complex carbs like buckwheat soba noodles, berries, tons of fat — I even eat butter.” That means no processed foods. "We don't do anything white, so we don't do white flour, white sugar, or white salt," she explained to Women's Health. "We definitely are a meat family. I've never been vegan or vegetarian; I don't think I could be. We actually have a freezer full of meat with all kinds of wild game."

5. She Makes Most of Her Own Food

“I make dinner 90 percent of the time. I think that’s important because that’s the only way to truly know what’s in your food,” she told Us. However, when she does dine out she indulges. “When I go out to eat or go on vacation, I eat whatever I want and then I really enjoy it.”

6. Her Goal? Lean Muscles

“I like having some muscle definition without being bulky or looking ‘jacked,'” she told Us. “Seeing results makes me want to push harder and gets me excited in the gym. I can honestly say my butt has gotten a lot bigger from being consistent in the gym, working on it for the past year. These results don’t happen overnight. It’s important to be patient and stay the course.”

7. She Avoids Cardio

"I don't do any cardio," Kristin told Well + Good. "Cardio used to be all I did before I had kids, but once I had them my lifestyle changed—I'm a much healthier eater and I hardly drink alcohol, so I've found that it's about building and maintaining muscle rather than losing weight now."
