Kristin Cavallari first started out her long career as a reality star. Her first show was Laguna Beach, she then appeared on The Hills. Years later, she starred in Very Cavallari. Cavallari also has her own clothing and beauty lines. She recently shared a photo of herself at the gym on her Instagram story. Cavallari wore a sweatshirt that said, “Not in the mood” on it. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Kristin Cavallari stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She’s Putting Herself First

Cavallari talked about her wellness journey to Shape. She says that she has learned to prioritize herself after her divorce. "I put myself last and I was really burned out," she says. "With my divorce, I didn't have my kids full-time anymore and so I had alone time for the first time in a long time. It was really weird at first because I didn't know what to do with it. What I chose to do was really work on myself – mentally, physically, emotionally, all of it."

2. She’s Not Being Hard On Herself

Cavallari tells Shape that she’s working on not being so hard on herself and forcing herself to a specific schedule. "I used to be very much about a routine and there was no wiggle room. I would get really down on myself if I missed a workout or missed whatever it was. That was all about trying to control everything in my life. I have learned to relax a little bit more and am in more of a state of flow. I try to choose a word for the year and this year I chose 'flow.' I do feel like I'm just more in a state of flow, just letting whatever's supposed to happen, happen."

3. She Eats A Lot Of Natural Food

Healthy,Eating,Background,/,Studio,Photography,Of,Different,Fruits,AndShutterstock

Cavallari makes sure to eat healthy, and shared her approach to eating with Shape. "I try to eat food as close to its natural state as possible. Not a lot of processed food, but tons of fruits and vegetables, and meat. I try to eat organic as often as possible. I never look at calories or fat or anything. I only read ingredient labels on a package. I won't eat it if it's just full of a bunch of chemicals.”

4. She Cooks

Cavallari loves to cook with her three children. "Cooking is definitely an area that all three kids enjoy, which makes me so happy," she says to Shape. "Even my oldest, I don't know how that happened but I feel very lucky and I think it's very cool that they want to be in the kitchen. It was Jaxon's idea to have each of them make dinner one night this week, which is really fun."

5. She Uses A Stairmaster

Kristin.CavallariKristin Cavallari/Instagram

Cavallari shared some of her favorite workouts in this TikTok. One thing she likes to do is use a stairmaster. She is seen on the machine at the beginning of the video, and revealed that this is part of her warmup. AceFitness states that stair climbing has a lot of benefits. “Stair climbing also heavily recruits muscles of your posterior chain — the glutes and calves — as well as hip flexors and muscles in the ankle, which are required to raise your foot up onto each stair. So the workout will help strengthen all those muscles.”

kristen-cavallari-sunkissedKristen Cavallari/Instagram

Kristin has a healthy, positive, and non-punishing approach to health and fitness. “It’s important to give ourselves grace and not beat ourselves up,” she told Us. “For so many years in my early 20s, I was all or nothing. I have the best relationship I’ve ever had with food and health because I’ve let go of a lot of that control. It’s about consistency — just keep showing up.”

2. She Is Her Own Personal Trainer

Kristin maintains you don’t need to spend money on a personal trainer to stay in shape. “I lift weights, but I do circuit training to keep my heart rate up. I also started doing hot yoga every once in a while. I don’t do it as often as I would like, but I love it when I’m able to make it happen,” she told Us.

3. She Doesn’t Eat Late

Kristin tries to avoid eating later in the night, maintaining that it helps her snooze. “I eat with my kids every night at 5:15 p.m.,” she told Us. “I find that I sleep better when I eat early like that. And I eat enough so that I’m not hungry before I go to bed.”

4. She Eats Clean

Celebrities Visit People Now - January 9, 2020Manny Carabel/Getty Images

Kristin’s diet focuses on eating food “as close to its natural state” as possible. “The way I eat is a lifestyle. Organic as often as possible, tons of veggies, meat, nuts and seeds, complex carbs like buckwheat soba noodles, berries, tons of fat — I even eat butter.” She avoids processed foods. "We don't do anything white, so we don't do white flour, white sugar, or white salt," she told Women's Health. "We definitely are a meat family. I've never been vegan or vegetarian; I don't think I could be. We actually have a freezer full of meat with all kinds of wild game."

5. She Cooks Her Own Meals

Kristin tries to avoid eating in restaurants. “I make dinner 90 percent of the time. I think that’s important because that’s the only way to truly know what’s in your food,” she told Us. When she does eat out, she allows herself to order what she wants. “When I go out to eat or go on vacation, I eat whatever I want and then I really enjoy it.”

6. She Strives for Muscle Definition

“I like having some muscle definition without being bulky or looking ‘jacked,'” she explained to Us. “Seeing results makes me want to push harder and gets me excited in the gym. I can honestly say my butt has gotten a lot bigger from being consistent in the gym, working on it for the past year. These results don’t happen overnight. It’s important to be patient and stay the course.”

7. She Avoids Cardio

"I don't do any cardio," Kristin told Well + Good. "Cardio used to be all I did before I had kids, but once I had them my lifestyle changed—I'm a much healthier eater and I hardly drink alcohol, so I've found that it's about building and maintaining muscle rather than losing weight now."

1. She Is Serious About Exercise

Olivia has been on her “training journey” for nearly 8 years. For many of those she created her own workout plans. However, after hitting a plateau she enlisted the help of a professional. “Feeling so motivated again,” she wrote in one of her Instagram Stories. She revealed in another that she works out five to six days per week.

2. She Doesn’t Do Ab Workouts

Surprisingly, Olivia doesn’t do any ab workouts. “I just do really heavy compound lifts which work my entire torso,” she revealed in an Instagram Story Q&A. Her favorite area to train? “Back or quads,” she revealed. She loves doing bent over rows and squats. If she does decide to work on her midsection, she will do in and outs, toe touches, russian twists, and planks, she added in another post.

3. She Avoids Cardio

Olivia doesn’t do a lot of cardio because she doesn’t want to lose weight and instead focuses on building muscle. “The most I do right now is walking for like 10 minutes before I start if I feel like it,” she said. Occasionally, she might do some sprints.

4. She Switches Up Her Workout Routine Regularly

Olivia switches up her routine regularly. In her Instagram Stories she revealed that she starts a new routine every four weeks. "One study found that 90% of people who completed a regular exercise program reported improved fatigue compared to those who did not exercise. Next time you’re considering an extra cup of coffee to perk you up, try a walk instead," says Harvard Health.

5. She Fuels Up with Food

Olivia doesn’t want to be skinny, she wants to be built. Therefore, she eats a lot. She shared one of her breakfasts, and it was quite hearty, consisting of breakfast potatoes, eggs, and an english muffin with peanut better. "In fact, per the American Institute for Cancer Research, a diet low in processed meat and rich in legumes, such as beans and nuts, can help lower your cancer risk," says Hollie Zammit, RD, a registered dietitian with Orlando Health, to our sister site Eat This, Not That!. "This is thanks to the great sources of various vitamins, minerals, fiber, and phytochemicals that nuts contain."

Kristin Cavallari, the reality star and wellness maven, has a notoriously fit figure. However, she revealed on Instagram that she hasn’t always been comfortable with herself. Cavallari just posted a new photo of herself posing on a balcony in a black bathing suit, overlooking the ocean. She captioned the post, “I’ve been sitting on this picture for a few days going back and forth on if I should post it or not. Ultimately I decided to bc I’ve come a long way from a few years ago and I’m really proud of the progress I’ve made. I don’t even recognize the girl in those other 2 photos..and no, I never had an eating disorder..that was purely stress. I work out really hard and am dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and I think just because I’m a mom doesn’t mean I can’t be proud of my body and be comfortable in my skin. 1. She’s Motivated By Her Kids

Cavallari didn’t always live a healthy lifestyle. She tells Glamour that becoming a mother inspired her to change her diet. ‘‘It wasn't until I became pregnant with my first son Camden that I really changed my lifestyle. I decided to eat real, whole food but to enjoy it and give into cravings as long as the cravings weren't heavily processed."

2. She Works Out Her Lower Body

2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards: UNSCRIPTED - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Cavallari broke down her favorite workouts to Glamour. She says that she does a lot of lower body workouts, since that is the part of her body she wants to focus on. “Maintaining muscle in my butt is my forever challenge. No matter what I do, it stays pretty small (lol).”

3. She Avoids Certain Ingredients

Cavallari eats a lot of natural, organic food. She tells Glamour that she looks at what ingredients a food has, before she buys them. “I never look at calories, only the ingredient label. If there are crazy additives in it, I stay away. When I'm cooking at home, I cook gluten free and I never use cow's milk.”

4. She Starts Slow

Cavallari eats a healthy diet. And it took her a while to get there. She advises Glamour readers that in order to live her lifestyle, you have to start slow. “Pick 3 additives you want to stay away from and just start with those until they become second nature. For example, corn syrup, added colours, and MSG are additives I will never eat."

5. She Gives Herself Grace

Cavallari might live a healthy lifestyle, but she does allow herself breaks. She says that this helps her overall relationship with food. “It’s important to give ourselves grace and not beat ourselves up,” she said to Us Weekly. “For so many years in my early 20s, I was all or nothing. Kristin Cavallari, the Uncommon James founder, is enjoying a “sunny Sunday” in a swimsuit and a bucket hat. She posted the photo yesterday to great acclaim. “Those hotdogs are sizzling. 🔥🔥🔥,” commented Brittainy Taylor. “Do you even age??? 😍,” asked one fan. “I need this tan in my life ❤️🔥,” asked another. 1. She Stays Consistent

“It’s important to give ourselves grace and not beat ourselves up,” she told Us Weekly. “For so many years in my early 20s, I was all or nothing. I have the best relationship I’ve ever had with food and health because I’ve let go of a lot of that control. It’s about consistency — just keep showing up.” “It's tempting to buy into promises of rapid and dramatic weight loss, but a slow and steady approach is easier to maintain and usually beats fast weight loss for the long term. A weight loss of 0.5 to 2 pounds (0.2 to 0.9 kilograms) a week is the typical recommendation,” says the Mayo Clinic.

2. Here’s Her Workout Schedule

“Like everyone else, my workout and health routine has been up and down during quarantine, but I finally have gotten back on track,” she told Us Weekly. “I lift weights, but I do circuit training to keep my heart rate up. I also started doing hot yoga every once in a while. I don’t do it as often as I would like, but I love it when I’m able to make it happen.”

3. Hot Yoga Works

57th Academy of Country Music Awards - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Hot yoga works. Just be sure to stay hydrated. “Adequate hydration is clearly a critical factor in preventing the adverse effects associated with exercising when the temperature and/or humidity are high inside the yoga studio. In this situation, the ideal approach is to take appropriate steps to prevent dehydration during the workout. To achieve this objective, participants should be encouraged to undertake the following steps to ensure that they are well hydrated before participating in a hot yoga class,” says ACE Fitness.

4. Circuit Training

DanielXDiamond Opening PartyJason Kempin/Getty Images

“It's not as complicated as you might think. Interval training is simply alternating short bursts (about 30 seconds) of intense activity with longer intervals (about 1 to 2 minutes) of less intense activity,” says the Mayo Clinic. “For instance, if your exercise is walking and you're in good shape, you might add short bursts of jogging into your regular brisk walks. If you're less fit, you might alternate leisurely walking with periods of faster walking. For example, if you're walking outdoors, you could walk faster between certain mailboxes, trees or other landmarks.”

5. She Starts Early in the Morning

“Mon-Fri I wake up at 5am to workout before my kids wake up. I love that quiet time to myself before the craziness of the day starts,” she told Glamour. “I lift weights 5 times per week and I eat real food. I never look at calories, only the ingredient label. If there are crazy additives in it, I stay away. When I'm cooking at home, I cook gluten free and I never use cow's milk. When I'm on vacation or go out to eat I'll allow myself those things...all about balance!”

In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
