Larsa Pippen celebrated Easter – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post the Real Housewives of Miami star flaunts her covetable curves in a string bikini while on a yacht. “Happy Easter,” she captioned the Instagram snap, eliciting a major response from her followers. “Swoonnn 🔥🔥🔥🔥” commented one of them. “PERFECT,” added another. How does the 49-year-old approach diet and fitness? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. 80/20 Diet

Weightloss,Concept,Meaning,Diet,80/20,With,Sign,On,The,Sheet.Shutterstock

Larsa takes a balanced approach to diet. “Being fit is 80 percent diet and 20 percent exercise- you can’t outrun your fork,” she captioned an Instagram post. She doesn’t go all out. For instance, she refuses to cut carbs. “I don’t think you can sustain that keto diet or the Atkins Diet,” she told HollywoodLife. “Personally, I don’t feel like those work. For me it’s more it’s more about eating healthy and portion control. That’s the only thing that lasts forever.”

2. “Slow and Steady” Approach to Weight Loss

You won’t find Larsa on a crash diet. "Change your attitude, poor eating habits, and maintain active rather than embarking on a standardized diet that promises a quick fix," she wrote on her blog. "Remember: Slow and steady wins the race." However, dropping pounds does involve eating less. “If you want to lose a couple of pounds, you have to eat a little bit less,” Larsa added to HollywoodLife. “That’s the only thing that’s gonna work for life, because you can do all these diets, you can start them, but I don’t feel like you can live that [way] forever. When you stop doing these diets and you go back to what you normally are used to, you’re going to have the same results that you had before. It’s a lifestyle of balance – eating right, feeling good about yourself, working out for your mind, your body, your soul. It’s all connected.”

3. 5 Exercise Sessions a Week

Larsa works out almost every day. She told HollywoodLife that she hits the gym five times a week for about 40 minutes. “What you choose to eat is far more important than the amount of exercise you put in,” she added. “The nutrition aspect helps to provide a balanced lifestyle. You have to do both. You cannot win if you just do one or the other.”

4. Meal Prepping

Meal,Prep,For,Lunch,,Healthy,Salad,In,A,Jar,WithShutterstock

Larsa meal preps to help ensure healthy eating. “I’m really big on prepping what you eat for the whole week,” she told HollywoodLife. “I cook every day for my kids. I have a menu that I draw up [for] all week so I know what we’re gonna eat. If you’re prepared like that you tend to eat healthier, as opposed to not knowing what you’re gonna eat and then you end up eating junk.”

5. Cheat Meals

Larsa allows herself to cheat. “I do love chocolate,” she told HollywoodLife “I love dessert and I’m known to make pies. Me and my kids make pies like twice a week – apple pie, pumpkin pie. I do cheat, but that’s normal. I’ll just do 10 extra squats that day. I’ll do 20 extra jumping jacks.”

1. She Does Tabata

The Daily Front Row's 5th Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards - ArrivalsJon Kopaloff/FilmMagic

Pippen has her own YouTube channel dedicated to sharing workout videos. She does a lot of different things to stay in shape. One thing Pippen is a fan of is tabata exercises. She posted this video of herself and her daughter doing a full body tabata workout. In it, they do exercises like jumping jacks, lunges, and hand taps. The Cleveland Clinic reports that tabata has a lot of benefits. “The answer is simple: You’d be hard-pressed finding another workout routine that builds as much cardiorespiratory endurance in as short a time. Studies have shown that devoting a few minutes to Tabata increases cardio and strength more than devoting far more hours to moderate-intensity workouts. It’s a pretty impressive fat burner, too.”

2. She Does HIIT

Legends Ball - 2022 BravoConSantiago Felipe/Getty Images

Another type of workout Pippen likes to do is HIIT, or high-intensity interval training. She shared this video on her YouTube channel of herself doing a full-body HIIT workout. In it, Pippen is seen doing Arnold presses and front squats with hand weights. She’s also doing workouts like mountain climbers and jump squats. AceFitness.org states HIIT has a lot of benefits. “Anaerobic interval training uses the body’s reserves of energy and, after a workout, metabolism stays elevated and continues to burn calories for hours after the workout. This is due to something called the excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) effect. With HIIT, you not only burn a lot of calories during the workout, but because of the high intensity you will continue to burn calories as your body replaces energy and repairs muscle proteins damaged during exercise.”

3. She Works Out Her Legs

Pippen doesn’t skip leg day. She revealed some of her favorite lower body workouts in this video on her YouTube channel. Pippen also does workouts like a hip bridge hold and side plank rotations.

5. She Has Good Eating Habits

On Pippen’s website, she opens up about her wellness routine. One thing she talked about were some of her go-to diet tips and tricks. Pippen says that instead of doing a plan or a crash diet, she focuses on building good habits. “Instead of adapting a regimented diet, change the way you eat and practice healthy eating habits. Find a satisfying eating plan with a menu you can live with long-term, and make sure you’re eating the right amount of calories for weight loss.”

Jen Heward is a fitness influencer. A few weeks ago, she shared a workout she did while she was pregnant on Instagram. In it, Heward is seen doing things like lunges, bicep curls, and modified push-ups. Heward captioned the post, “Always picking wedgies 🐫🤣 Killer full body burn 🔥 from the drafts!! Little did I know I was going to have a baby 2 weeks from the day this was filmed 🥹 I actually haven’t done a full body since this workout 🤣 I’m inspired by my own videos to get back into it again 💪🏼”

She Strength Trains

In her Instagram post, Heward is seen doing exercises with weights. This has a lot of benefits. ACE Fitness states, “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Does Lunges

Another exercise that Heward is seen doing in her Instagram post is lunges. According to The Mayo Clinic, this exercise has a lot of health benefits. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles. The lunge is a great conditioning exercise for many sports, especially those that involve lunging movements, such as tennis, basketball or soccer.”

She Does Core Workouts

Heward likes to do core workouts to keep herself in shape. She shared some of her favorite core exercises with ankle weights in this Instagram post. Heward captioned it, “Strengthening these hips and core back postpartum 🔥 plus quite a few of you were asking for some inner thigh exercises! SAVE 4 LATER. It might not look like much for core, but you need a whole lot of deep core stability for these leg exercises. This way you hit more than one muscle group at a time! The workout took me 30 min but had me 🥵”

She Does Pull-Ups

Heward shared this workout video on Instagram. In it, she is seen doing pull-ups. According to Gymless, it can be very beneficial to do these. “Pull-ups are one of the most fundamental calisthenics exercises that build up your strength and endurance in the upper body. It is commonly used as a form of physical test from schools all the way up to the military. Many athletes from all sports backgrounds use pull-ups in their training, which makes this one of the best exercises for building the upper body and developing a bigger and stronger back.”

She Does Hip Thrusts

Heward is also seen doing hip thrusts in the previous Instagram link. Gymless says that these are very beneficial for your glutes. “Strong glutes are not only for aesthetic appeal; they serve a key functional purpose in supporting the posterior chain of muscles around the spine. Hip thrusts are also known for their capacity to develop and define glute muscles, contributing to their popularity on social media. After all, who doesn’t appreciate the look of a well-crafted pair of glutes?”

Ence captioned the post, “So here’s one of my favorite ways to break a sweat. 🔥 It’s challenging, mentally engaging, and interval style, which always keeps it fun.”

She Lifts Weights

As you can see from her Instagram video, Ence likes to lift weights to keep herself in shape. She shares a lot of other posts of herself using weights. According to ACE Fitness, lifting weights has a lot of health benefits. “Lifting heavy weights elevates levels of anabolic hormones—specifically testosterone, growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1)—which are used to repair muscle fibers damaged during exercise. This helps the muscle fibers to become thicker and capable of generating higher levels of force.”

She Does Deadlifts

Ence is seen doing deadlifts in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness says that this exercise has a lot of benefits. “One significant benefit of the RDL is that it teaches clients how to lift from the hips instead of using the lower back. The base move of the RDL is the standing hip hinge, which is an important component of learning how to squat correctly. The first move during the lowering phase of the squat should be the hips moving back in a flexed position. Back pain is often associated with not using the hips properly when squatting or bending over to pick an object up off of the ground. Teaching clients how to lift safely in the gym means they m

Another exercise that Ence is seen doing in her Instagram video is sit-ups. The Cleveland Clinic says that sit-ups are very beneficial. “Sit ups are essential for strengthening your core — something that’s obvious. But your core is responsible for so much more than those classic ‘six pack’ abs many strive for. A strong core can reduce back pain, improve balance and increase your flexibility. Core muscles also support your hips and pelvis. Finally, a strong core will help you build good posture.”
