Nothing makes Scream Queens star Lea Michele happier than being active in the outdoors—especially taking advantage of the many hiking trails in and around Los Angeles. Michele, 37, shared a picture of herself wearing a two-piece workout outfit, posing on a hill in the sunshine. “My favorite spot in LA ✌🏻💓,” she captioned the post. Here’s what Michele’s diet, exercise, and wellness routine looks like.

Michele says her wellness is based around exercise, diet, sleep, and mental health care. “My quest with wellness has really grown over the past 10 years that I’ve lived in Los Angeles,” she tells Us Weekly. “It’s not one thing, it’s not two things, it’s a lot of things combined that I feel all together really contribute to making me look and feel my absolute best. It’s not rocket science, it’s the basics … it seems simple because it’s like ‘Work out! Eat right!’ But that’s what it is. That’s what you have to do.
2. Celery Juice

Michele stars every day with a cup of celery juice. “Just to flush out your body is so important,” she tells Us Weekly. “Celery juice is so incredibly good for your liver and it is a great cleanse first thing in the morning. I’ve seen it improve my digestion so much… Every single thing that I put into my body is to nourish and fuel my body. I have always felt that food is fuel. What you’re eating is going to help your body so I don’t eat junk food, I don’t eat processed food. I keep only fresh, healthy ingredients in my home so I can feel my absolute best.”
3. Movement Mantra
Michele stays as active as she can, even when she can’t fit in a structured workout. “I’ve learned how to listen to my body and know what I need in that moment,” she tells Shape. “And I’m grateful for that. It took me a very long time to get to this place. Now I can tell when my body is saying to take a break from working out, or when it’s saying, ‘No, you’re being a little lazy,’ so that I can push myself to get going… Find three workouts you enjoy so that you can choose what you need on any given day. I exercise every day if I can. If I’m not working out, I’m on a hike or swimming in my backyard ... I always keep moving.”
5. Feeling Good

Michele’s priorities are to feel good and energized, not obsessing about a number on the scale. “It’s so important for me to stress that being healthy is not about being a gym rat. It’s not about being 90 lbs.,” she tells PEOPLE. “This is really how I live every single day. You have to look good, but you also have to feel good. So I find workouts that take of both those things.”
4. Yoga and Hiking
Michele loves SoulCycle and yoga sessions, plus hiking with husband Zandy Reich. “I like any workout that not only is taking care of my body from a physical aspect but is also mentally [beneficial] as well,” she tells Us Weekly. “We have so many trails here on the West Coast so I love being outdoors and getting in a workout outside.”
