Nothing makes Scream Queens star Lea Michele happier than being active in the outdoors—especially taking advantage of the many hiking trails in and around Los Angeles. Michele, 37, shared a picture of herself wearing a two-piece workout outfit, posing on a hill in the sunshine. “My favorite spot in LA ✌🏻💓,” she captioned the post. Here’s what Michele’s diet, exercise, and wellness routine looks like.

1. Wellness Pillars

Lea,Michele,Attends,76th,Annual,Tony,Awards,At,United,PalaceShutterstock

Michele says her wellness is based around exercise, diet, sleep, and mental health care. “My quest with wellness has really grown over the past 10 years that I’ve lived in Los Angeles,” she tells Us Weekly. “It’s not one thing, it’s not two things, it’s a lot of things combined that I feel all together really contribute to making me look and feel my absolute best. It’s not rocket science, it’s the basics … it seems simple because it’s like ‘Work out! Eat right!’ But that’s what it is. That’s what you have to do.

2. Celery Juice

Celery,Healthy,Green,JuiceShutterstock

Michele stars every day with a cup of celery juice. “Just to flush out your body is so important,” she tells Us Weekly. “Celery juice is so incredibly good for your liver and it is a great cleanse first thing in the morning. I’ve seen it improve my digestion so much… Every single thing that I put into my body is to nourish and fuel my body. I have always felt that food is fuel. What you’re eating is going to help your body so I don’t eat junk food, I don’t eat processed food. I keep only fresh, healthy ingredients in my home so I can feel my absolute best.”

3. Movement Mantra

Michele stays as active as she can, even when she can’t fit in a structured workout. “I’ve learned how to listen to my body and know what I need in that moment,” she tells Shape. “And I’m grateful for that. It took me a very long time to get to this place. Now I can tell when my body is saying to take a break from working out, or when it’s saying, ‘No, you’re being a little lazy,’ so that I can push myself to get going… Find three workouts you enjoy so that you can choose what you need on any given day. I exercise every day if I can. If I’m not working out, I’m on a hike or swimming in my backyard ... I always keep moving.”

5. Feeling Good

Lea,Michele,Wearing,Dress,By,Renaissance,Renaissance,Attends,World,PremiereShutterstock

Michele’s priorities are to feel good and energized, not obsessing about a number on the scale. “It’s so important for me to stress that being healthy is not about being a gym rat. It’s not about being 90 lbs.,” she tells PEOPLE. “This is really how I live every single day. You have to look good, but you also have to feel good. So I find workouts that take of both those things.”

4. Yoga and Hiking

Michele loves SoulCycle and yoga sessions, plus hiking with husband Zandy Reich. “I like any workout that not only is taking care of my body from a physical aspect but is also mentally [beneficial] as well,” she tells Us Weekly. “We have so many trails here on the West Coast so I love being outdoors and getting in a workout outside.”

Actress Lea Michele is on vacation with her best friend, fellow Glee and Broadway star Jonathan Groff. Michele posted a series of stunning photos on Instagram of the duo’s trip. Michele is seen hiking, swimming, and enjoying the scenery with Groff, and in one pic, is in her swimsuit. The two go way back, first starring on Broadway's Spring Awakening together in 2006, and then reuniting for Glee. “He’s my best friend in the entire world—in fact, it’s fair to say that I didn’t understand the concept until I met him. He’s been through more ups and downs with me than anyone else. He’s like a brother, and I love him like crazy,” she once said. How does Michele stay so fit while keeping so busy? 1. She Believes In Both Exercising and a Healthy Diet

While some people’s wellness routine is only focusing on diet or exercise, Michele says that she focuses on both. She tells Us Weekly, “I think that a large majority of wellness comes from what we put in our bodies, but you always have to work out. You have to do both.”

2. She Works Out Often

Despite Michele’s busy schedule, she says that she always makes time for exercise. She tells Us Weekly, “I try to work out at least twice a week. More so than that, living an active lifestyle is just incredibly important to me. Walking as much as possible and keeping yourself active, whether or not I can get to a SoulCycle class. If I can’t then I’ll make sure I can get to a hike or something.”

3. She Loves Hot Yoga

Michele says to Us Weekly that she likes to work out with her best friend and fellow Glee star, Becca Tobin. Michele says that the two of them love to go to hot yoga classes. “We both really love hot yoga. We do hot yoga a lot together.”

4. She Avoids Junk Food

When it comes to her diet, Michele tells Us Weekly that she doesn’t eat junk food or anything unhealthy. “Every single thing that I put into my body is to nourish and fuel my body. I’ve always felt that food is fuel so what you’re eating is going to help your body. So I don’t eat junk food, I don’t eat processed food. I keep only fresh and healthy ingredients in my home so I can feel my absolute best.”

5. She Loves Lemon Water

Michele tells Us Weekly that she likes to drink lemon water in the mornings. “The first thing I do when I wake up is, I pour a big glass of lemon water to just really flush my system and start the day right,” she says. "How much to drink and when is dependent on each individual. The general rule of thumb at this point among physicians is to drink to thirst. Although there are guidelines for hydration before, during, and after exercise, look and listen to your body as the best indicator when you need hydration," says the Mayo Clinic. In other words: "Rather than planning out arbitrary amounts of fluids during your workout, your body is the best indicator when you need hydration. Drink when you're thirsty."

1. She Doesn’t Diet

Lea isn’t a fan of dieting. Why? Because if you maintain a healthy lifestyle, there is no need. “It’s not rocket science, it’s the basics,” she told Us magazine. “If you’re always taking good care of yourself, and if you’re always eating right…then no matter what comes up, you don’t feel like you need to adjust or increase or anything.”

2. She Eats Clean

Lea, who identifies as a pescatarian, has a very clean approach to diet. “Every single thing that I put into my body is to nourish and fuel my body,” she told Us. “I’ve always felt that food is fuel so what you’re eating is going to help your body. So I don’t eat junk food, I don’t eat processed food. I keep only fresh and healthy ingredients in my home so I can feel my absolute best.”

3. She Drinks Water with Lemon and Green Juice

“The first thing I do when I wake up is pour a big glass of lemon water to just really flush my system and start the day right,” she revealed to Us. She also has a go-to green drink. “Celery juice is so incredibly good for your body but it’s actually for your liver and it’s a great cleanse first thing in the morning,” she said. “I’ve seen it improve my digestion so much, so that’s another little trick that I’ve been doing in the morning as well.”

4. She Does Yoga

Lea is a devoted yogi. “I've been practicing yoga since I was 19 years old. It's by far my most favorite form of working out,” she wrote in a July 2021 blog for Story + Rain. “But I practice not only for my body, yoga has helped my mind more than anything I've ever tried before. It centers and grounds me, and connects me to myself at my core. As soon as I wake up, before the baby or anyone else is awake, I take out my mat and do a quick yoga flow. even just for five minutes. It gets my blood flowing, and helps me to feel energized for the day.”

5. She Does Lots of Different Workouts

Lea mixes up her workouts, but they all have something in common.“I like workouts with a spiritual element—whether it’s SoulCycle or hot yoga,” she told Health. She also enjoys outdoor exercise. “I hike all the time,” she told Us. “We have so many great trails here on the West Coast so I love being outdoors and I love getting a workout outside.”

6. She Focuses on Her Health Not Her Weight

Lea used to be more concerned with her clothing size, but now she focuses on her health. “I feel like I am at the healthiest place in my entire life. It’s not that I’m the thinnest, because I’m not the thinnest I’ve been. But when I was the thinnest, I was not being the healthiest,” she told Health. “I’m definitely the most mentally, physically, and spiritually sound that I’ve ever been,” she explained.

Grace Beverley is exercising – in her two-piece workout gear. In a new social media post the influencer flaunts her amazing figure in a two-piece workout set in a mirror selfie. “Spot the girl obsessed with her own business,” she captioned the Instagram Stories image. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Breakfast

Grace starts the day with a big breakfast. “I’m not a huge breakfast person in the week, but at the weekends my go-to has been the same for over a decade now: creamy mushrooms on toast,” she told Women’s Health. “My fiancé uses the Oatly cream to make it for us every weekend and it’s definitely one of the reasons I’m marrying him! It’s just the ultimate weekend “breakfast and it feels like such a treat without spiking my blood sugar too much.”

Coffee

Grace is a coffee drinker. “My go-to coffee order is an iced oat latte. Although I’m trying to cut down and now have a strict ‘no coffee after 12pm’ rule that I make the team hold me accountable to when I don’t have the willpower,” she said.

Greens Powder

“I used to take a whole load of supplements but I got fed up with spending so much each month and taking so many pills. That’s why I turned to the Shreddy team with the idea of developing a greens powder that did the job of all my supplements in one. I remember in that first meeting we thought it might not be possible, but a year (and 30 samples) later one glass of Shreddy Supergreens contains 100% NRV of my daily vitamins, pre & pro-biotics and all the vitamins and minerals I was already taking for hair and skin growth. As someone who’s all about efficiency, it’s my dream multi-tasking supplement. I drink it in the afternoon instead of my coffee and it really helps me avoid that mid-afternoon crash I always used to get,” Grace told Women’s Health.

Sleep

Grace prioritizes her sleep. “I wear an Oura ring to track my sleep, so I know how far to push myself on a particular day as my schedule is usually pretty back-to-back. It usually knows when I’m getting run down before I do,” she told Women’s Health. “I try my absolute best to get 8 hours of sleep a night, after years of trying to push it, I now know that 8 hours is what I need to be good at my job and maintain my schedule across a week. When heading to bed, I make sure to read at least 10 pages of a fiction book. I find it really helps me to separate my brain from work mode and improves the quality of my sleep as a whole.”

HIIT Workouts

Grace Beverly takes a reflective selfie.HIIT WorkoutsGrace Beverly/Instagram

Grace sticks to short but effective workouts.”When I moved to London, I struggled to fit everything in and barely worked out at all. It sounds like a scammy email, but the ‘simple trick’ that changed my life was switching to just 10 or 20-minute workouts – it’s great for my mental health and fitness, but short enough that I never get bored,” she told Women’s Health. “That’s what inspired me to create the Shreddy 102 and Shreddy 202 HIIT guides. I now do one of those workouts four days a week, as well as two weight- lifting sessions – I’m lucky enough to have a home gym.”

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
