Lindsey Vonn is one of the most successful skiers of all time. She has won two gold medals and one bronze in the Olympics. She has also won four World Cup championships. Vonn recently had surgery, and is starting her rehab process. Vonn shared a video on Instagram of herself doing workouts like squat lunges and using weights. She captioned the post, “First step on the trip… find the gym!” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Lindsey Vonn stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Surfs

Vonn loves to surf, and she shared this video on Instagram of herself doing so. She captioned the post, “BIG DAY!!! Got back to doing something I love, wake-surfing! I’ve been building up to this since surgery and I know it’s only been a few weeks but I DID IT!! I got up on my FIRST try!! Took me a minute to get my balance… but I got it in the end!! Things like this is why I had surgery, I want to enjoy life and have adventures and I’m SO thankful I can do that!”

2. She Strength Trains

Vonn does a lot of strength training to stay in shape. In her Instagram video, she is seen using dumbbells. In this video, Vonn is seen using dumbbells, kettlebells, and dual pulley rows. She captioned the post, “Always try to combat jet-lag with workouts… have to say this trip was a lot harder than normal. Flew to Austria 🇦🇹 for less than 48 hours and then to Hong Kong 🇭🇰. Got off a 12 hour flight (18 hr total trip) and straight into a work dinner… I was all kinds of messed up😵‍💫. Woke up without an alarm early every morning and worked out for about an hour…which got my day off to a good start and definitely helped, but it was not the easiest. It was an amazing trip but needless to say, I can’t wait to go home and get back to normal.”

3. She Does Core Workouts

Vonn likes to do core workouts to stay in shape. In her Instagram video, she is seen doing hanging crunches. The Mayo Clinic states that core workouts are very effective. “Strong core muscles make it easier to do many activities. When your core muscles are strong, it's easier to swing a golf club, get a glass from the top shelf and bend down to tie your shoes. Strong core muscles help athletes, such as runners. That's because weak core muscles can lead to more fatigue, less endurance and injuries.”

4. She Plays Tennis

Vonn likes to play tennis to stay fit. She recently posted this video on Instagram of herself on the court. Vonn captioned the post, “Inspired to get back out on the court after watching some incredible tennis at @rolandgarros. It’s the first time playing since having surgery but I hadn’t actually picked up a racket since November. Not horrible but still need some lessons… 😬 mainly happy my knee felt great!!”

5. She’s Consistent

Vonn makes sure to stay consistent with her exercise. She talked about this in the caption of this workout video on Instagram. “The long weekend is over and it’s back to work we go! No matter what you do, the most important thing about going to the gym is continuing to show up. Get in a habit of moving and it will pay off 💪🏻 This workout I focused on glut and posterior chain work with some core. Did an incline weight vest treadmill walk at the end. Slow and steady wins the race of life.”

Lindsey Vonn is getting hearts racing with her latest social media snap. The former professional skier shared a photo of her fabulously fit figure in a shimmering Devon Windsor swimsuit via Instagram on Monday. “Seriously excited for this week… a lot of hard work but the reward at the end is a weekend of Formula 1! Cannot wait!!” she captioned the snap. How does the athlete keep herself in such great shape, now that she is retired? Read on to see 7 ways Lindsey Vonn stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. Adapt Your Training for Your Goals

Lindsey recently told New York Post's Alexa magazine last week that she's "a lot leaner" than she was during her professional skiing day. "I used to do things that were so sport specific, so I had to be bigger," she explained. "But everyone is like, 'Oh my God, you're in the best shape of your life.' It's like — yes and no. I'm not training for my sport anymore, I am training to be lean and fit." In an Instagram story she added that she had gotten down to her lowest body fat percentage of her life, 15 percent—five percent less than her all-time low of 19 percent. "Different training. Different diet. Crazy!"

2. Eat Clean

Omelet,With,Tomatoes,,Red,Bell,Pepper,And,Broccoli,On,LightShuttershock

Vonn previously dished to People that her “ski season” diet included “a lot of protein and carbs.” However, after retiring she started working with nutritionist Phil Goglia, focusing on drinking a lot of water, eating clean food, and timing her meals. “I try not to eat too much in the morning before I work out,” she told Women’s Health. “I’m not working out crazy hard, but I notice I feel better; not as weighed down.” Post-workout, Lindsey eats “egg white omelets with broccoli, chicken, and pepper, and stuff like that.” For lunch she will nosh on chicken or salmon with kale or cabbage. Dinner is also a mix of protein and veggies – like chicken salad with avocado or a zucchini pasta with bolognese meat sauce. Her favorite snacks are almonds, kiwis, and blueberries.

3. Do Strength Training Workouts

Vonn is all about hard core strength training, working out regularly with Gunnar Peterson. Her workouts are a combo of strength and weight training, using a lot of weighted balls, battle ropes, lifts, squats.

4. Find Workout Buddies

Vonn often opts to exercise alongside her friends. In a recent workout video, the Olympian perfectly executes a variety of moves with her “best friend” supermodel Ashley Graham. Other workout buddies have included X-Games skateboarding champ Leticia Bufoni and of course, her trainer, Gunnar.

5. Don’t Skip Your Workouts

Vonn doesn’t miss a workout, even when she’s on a trip. During a recent vacay by the sea, she executed some serious weighted squats al fresco. And, even at home, she has demonstrated that you don’t need a workout room to get your sweat on, using a few simple tools like a medicine ball, a stability ball, and a plyometric box.

6. Celebrate Your Victories

Vonn documents her progress and makes sure to pat herself on the back and celebrate her success, which helps her stay accountable. "You can judge me if you want, but I've been working hard in the gym and taking care of me.... so I'm going to post some bikini pics because I'm proud of myself,” she captioned a series of bikini pics.

7. Set Goals

In a recent Instagram story, Vonn revealed three healthy and realistic goals. "1) Continue to take care of me," she said. "2) Maintain this clean living (foods, self care and personal growth" and "3) Keep working out because it makes me happy and I feel better when I do it… and just ENJOY LIFE!"

3. She Does Strength Training Workouts

Vonn is all about hard-core strength training. She works out regularly with Gunnar Peterson and isn’t afraid of lifting heavy weights. Her workouts are a combo of strength and weight training, using a lot of weighted balls, battle ropes, lifts, squats. You can check out one of her workouts here.

4. She Has Workout Buddies

Vonn enjoys working out with others. One of her workout buddies is her “best friend” supermodel Ashley Graham. Other workout buddies have included X-Games skateboarding champ Leticia Bufoni and of course, her trainer, Gunnar.

5. She Doesnt Skip Workouts

Vonn regularly demonstrates that she never skips a workout. Even while on vacation you can find her sweating away at the gym. She also has a workout studio in her home.

6. She Skis

Even though Lindsey is no longer skiing for work, she still hits the slopes with her friends for a great workout. “Finally got to ski with my girl @chelseahandler! What an epic day of powder,” she captioned a recent post. Research has linked downhill skiing to a number of health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress and the occurrence of memory deficits declines.

7. She Incorporates Plant-Based Foods Into Her Diet

While Lindsey does eat animal products she tries to slip in plant-based foods when she can. “Listen, the kitchen can be intimidating to anyone. But I’m here to tell you: You can do it. And with the new year, let’s do it better, together. I’ve got 14 places to help you start eating more plant-based foods,” she captioned a post, suggesting the Just Egg cookbook to her followers. “Now, if only every new year’s resolution came with a side of omelets.”

Lindsey Vonn is showing off her strength – and flat abs – during a workout. In a new social media post the ski champ flaunts her strong and svelte body in a crop top and leggings while executing some impressive moves. “It’s time to reset, recharge, and go hard. 💪🏻 Super pumped,” she captioned the Instagram slip. In it, she does a variation of lateral lunges with a barbell. How does the athlete stay fit? Celebwell has the details on her lifestyle habits.

1. Tailored Training

Lindsey got "a lot leaner" after she retired from skiing with the help of Gunnar Peterson. "I used to do things that were so sport specific, so I had to be bigger," she told New York Post's Alexa magazine. "But everyone is like, 'Oh my God, you're in the best shape of your life.' It's like — yes and no. I'm not training for my sport anymore, I am training to be lean and fit,” she said. She has dramatically decreased her body fat. "Different training. Different diet. Crazy!"

2. Three to Four Workouts a Week

Lindsey listens to her brain and body when it comes to exercise. "Whatever you like doing is what you should be doing," she told Women’s Health. She aims for at least three to four times a week, usually in the mornings. Her workouts are a combo of strength and weight training, using a lot of weighted balls, battle ropes, lifts, squats. You can check out one of her workouts here

3. Two Cardio Workouts a Week

Lindsey does cardio at least twice a week. One thing she avoids? Running."I have a doctor's note that says I should never run again in my life, and I'm okay with that," she says. Instead she cycles or surfs.

4. Post-Dinner Walks

After dinner, Lindsey tries to go for a walk. "I have to go outside and walk the glucose off with my dog," she says. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

5. Clean, Plant-Based Eating

While Vonn’s “ski season” diet included “a lot of protein and carbs,” she told People, she had Phil Goglia revamp her diet when she retired. It now focuses on drinking a lot of water, eating clean food, and timing her meals. “I try not to eat too much in the morning before I work out,” she told Women’s Health. After exercising Lindsey eats “egg white omelets with broccoli, chicken, and pepper, and stuff like that.” For lunch, she chooses between chicken or salmon with kale or cabbage. Dinner is also a mix of protein and veggies – like chicken salad with avocado or a zucchini pasta with bolognese meat sauce. Her favorite snacks are almonds, kiwis, and blueberries. Lindsay Vonn, the legendary former pro skier, is not only known for her incredible achievements on the slopes but also for her dedication to fitness and self-care. In a recent social media post, Vonn wowed fans in a two-piece workout set while sharing her intense leg-burning routine. Despite her busy schedule, she stays consistent in the gym, using exercise as both a physical outlet and a mental escape. From maintaining her authenticity to empowering young girls through her foundation, here's a closer look at how Vonn balances fitness, self-care, and giving back.

1. She True to Herself

Vonn stays true to her authentic self and doesn’t pretend to be something she’s not.

"I was always just myself,” she told Women’s Health. “You can be strong and feminine and opinionated and wear makeup and do all those things at the same time. You don't have to be the stereotypical athlete. You can be different," she stated in the interview. "There's no limit to what opportunities are out there [for you], you just have to go get them."

2. She Has Healthy Outlets

Life can get overwhelming for anyone, including star athletes, but the former pro skier turns to healthy outlets to cope with challenging moments. In a recent Instagram post, Vonn shared a video of her in the gym doing a variety of workouts including weight lifting, TRX, hanging abs and more. She wrote in the post, “Been putting the time in the gym… It’s how I clear my mind and keep my sanity… when life gets hard, I workout harder.”

Hitting the gym is a great stress reducer and helps improve your overall mood.

“Exercise can provide stress relief for your body while imitating effects of stress, such as the flight or fight response, and helping your body and its systems practice working together through those effects,” according to the Mayo Clinic. “This can also lead to positive effects in your body — including your cardiovascular, digestive and immune systems — by helping protect your body from harmful effects of stress.”

3. She is Consistent in the Gym

It’s easy to stop going to the gym with a busy schedule, which recently happened to Vonn, but she’s back at it now. On August 5th, Vonn posted an Instagram video with the caption, “Back at it!! Feels so good to get back in the gym and into a routine again.”

Besides getting the best fitness results, staying consistent in the gym can help in other ways such as managing or preventing diseases like stroke, depression and anxiety, improves sleep, boosts mood, and can improve intimacy, per the Mayo Clinic.

4. Giving Back

Skiing has always been a major aspect of Vonn’s life and she takes time to help empower young girls in sports. Over the summer, she shared on Instagram, “Beyond sports, I love the work that I do through my foundation to empower the next generation of girls, and at the same time, I enjoy sitting on boards and working with the companies I advise to help drive a new frontier in sports and far beyond.”

5. Dog Lover

In several social media videos, Vonn is seen with her dogs and occasionally working out with them. Many of us love and cherish our pets like family, but there are also health benefits to owning a pet.

According to U.C. Davis, having a pet can improve mental health in the following ways:

-”Help reduce stress and anxiety

-Ease feelings of loneliness

-Provide unconditional love and support

-Create a calming presence

-Give a sense of purpose for pet parents”

Leonie Hanne is living her best life in Thailand – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the German model flaunts her fantastic figure in a $750 Missoni bathing suit while enjoying a boating day in the tropics. “She dreamed of a tropical adventure 🦋,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Stunning,” commented one of her followers. ”So beautiful,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Coffee

Leonie enjoys the perks of caffeine. In one of her posts from Thailand, she drinks a cup of coffee at the poolside. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Pilates

Leonie does Pilates at the super exclusive London studio Pilates in the Clouds. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress, and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

At-Home Workouts

Leonie tries to get a workout in daily, preferably in the morning. I still try to get up early to maintain a sense of routine. I start every day with a quick at-home workout and a homemade acai bowl, before starting work on emails and content creation. I’ve been getting really into TikTok lately, it’s funny and keeps me feeling energised!” she told Arcadia.

Community

It takes a village, according to Leonie. “Community is key! The people you surround yourself with are more important than ever, as we are all trying to find ways to stay connected without being physically present. Speaking to people either on the phone or through social media can shift your mindset and motivation more than ever before,” she says.

Small, Healthy Habits

Leonie focuses on maintaining small, healthy habits. “Do something every day that brings you joy. Even if that means having something small to look forward to, like having your favourite snacks around the house or changing into an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself,” she says.

How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do.
